Business France is the national agency supporting the international development of the economy of France, responsible for fostering export growth by French businesses, as well as promoting and facilitating international investment in France. It promotes France’s companies, business image and nationwide attractiveness as an investment location, and also runs the VIE international internship program.
Under the authority of the French Minister for the Economy and Finance Affairs, the DGE (Directorate General for Enterprise) is tasked with developing and implementing government policy for industry, the digital economy, tourism, commerce, craft industries and trades and services. The DGE works in close partnership with businesses and business representatives including trade organizations and trade and support networks.

Business France and the DGE have joined forces to create the Smart Factory Connection Tour, a unique immersion program designed to assist 8 French companies in the American market. The selected startups and SMEs offer advanced solutions in two specific fields: monitoring & control and digitalization of the value chain. They already work with major international corporations and are eager to present their technologies to key American players, develop strategic partnerships and accelerate their development in the U.S. market. The selected companies will be supported by Business France for 10 months, including a 1-week immersion in Detroit and Chicago in September 2017. The tour will start in Chicago, a central manufacturing hub, where the delegation will attend the Smart Industry Conference, a major annual event focused on the digital transformation of manufacturing. Afterwards, the tour will take them to Detroit, the birthplace of the automotive industry, for site visits, networking events and BtoB meetings.
