Back to School

If you’re a kid living in England or Wales, you probably think it’s way too early to start talking about going back to school. You’ve only just nished! However, children in Scotland will be lining up for class again really soon, so it’s the perfect time to talk about being prepared for a new school year.

If you’ve still got another month until you’re back at the school gates, pop this issue somewhere safe for when you need it.

Dealing With Feelings

People feel differently about going back to school. Some people can’t wait to get back in the classroom and see their friends, but others will be dragging their feet and wishing the holidays were longer.

To help you process your feelings about going back to school, try writing or drawing them on paper (or you could use the space below). You could write a story, diary, poem, or draw a comic or picture – whatever helps you. Think of the things you’re looking forward to and the things you’re a bit anxious about. Then use them to talk to your parents, carers or another grown-up about how you’re feeling. Talking through questions you have can also help.

If you don’t have a piece of paper to hand, use this space to write or draw how you’re feeling about going back to school
