Thousands of people from all over the world will head to Edinburgh from 4–26 August for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Described as a musical journey, some exciting homegrown acts will include the Royal Air Force and the Massed Pipes and Drums accompanied by the Tattoo Dancers and Fiddlers.
There will also be many impressive cultural showcases from Norway, the United States of America, Trinidad and Tobago, and Switzerland. The United States Air Force band will wow the audience with a freestyle musical performance inspired by The Great American Songbook. The Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Steel Orchestra will bring a burst of colour with their traditional art forms, including limbo and re dancing. The Swiss Armed Forces Central Band will also present their exciting drum corps talent. The vast selection of performances has something for everyone, whether you’re six or seventy-six. All of this is being held at Edinburgh Castle – a huge venue for a huge showcase of talent.
