VAS T - L EEDS “We are a design consultancy with one key aim: To create great customer experiences. Vast is an established agency which has produced work for the fashion industry since 1999. Through working with luxury and heritage brands and creating engaging successful design solutions they have built a great reputation over the years so far. Vast produce full brand identities for the fashion sector, but also work with existing brands to further or improve their success. They produce a lot of editorial pieces of design such as look books, in addition to website designs. They also shoot a lot of photography in-house allowing for a greater control of brand consistency, as through art-direction Vast are able to communicate a brands aesthetic and ethos through the style of photography. This is also the case when the studio produce designs such as e-commerce website designs. Communicating the brand is the focus throughout, both following a brands aesthetic and communicating their beliefs in the way a website or book works as a piece of design.

1. Private White A bespoke brand identity and e-commerce website was produced for menswear company Private White. The branding communicates the heritage of the company whilst embracing the contemporary aspect of online sales. The branding, along with the updated photogaphy, online campaigns and more, have positioned the company into a premium menswear label.
2. British Menswear Guild Along with the creation of the brand for the British Menswear Guild,Vast also created a look book style publication showcasing some of the brands involved, in addition to providing background information and knowledge about the Guild. The publication perfectly complements the contemporary identity created by Vast with the strong grid and use of the same colours as the brand identity.
3. 1 Like No Other A look book was created for a luxury men’s shirt brand. The detailed, patterned fabrics are key to this brand and therefore a patterned wrapping was used to package the publication. Inside layout was kept minimal to allow the detailed nature of the shirts to be the focus. The detail involved in the packaging works with the high end nature of the brand.

“We partner with brands to move and engage audiences. We combine creativity, strategy and instinct to bring to life crafted, effective ideas that live anywhere.” Manchester based studio Music are much more than a graphic design studio. They work with brands to create experiences and offer a wide range of creative services in order to produce these full brand experiences. Their many successful branding design projects show that branding is much more than just a logo. The name Music comes from the idea that music brings people together, it is all encompassing and means something individual to everybody. It can change moods and inspire people and it can be both complex or simple. These are traits that both Music the studio and music have in common. The success of Music as a creative studio has been acknowledged with many different awards and they are currently ranked sixth in the Design Week’s creative survey.

1. Chester Zoo A hand rendered aesthetic was carried through the branding for the Zoo to create a clear personality. A hand drawn typeface and illustrations are used throughout the branding creating a consistent brand experience throughout the zoo.
2. The Brit Awards Rather than simply designing a new logo for the Awards, Music identified the award itself as an icon and so re-designed this as a sleek, blank canvas to allow British Artists to apply a unique design to it each year. The designed awards each year are continued through into the set of the ceremony, the specific branding of the year and more again creating an experience rather than just a visual.
3. London Collections: Men Music worked with the British Fashion Council to brand and launch London’s first menswear fashion week. The hexagonal shape of the logo was subtly applied through to such as the sets for photoshoots, giving a consistent aesthetic and feel throughout the event.

1. Keelham Farm Shop The brand ethos of ‘food tastes better from the farm, is brought to life in the range of components within the brand. There is a consistent hand rendered aesthetic running through the many components to work with the natural nature of the brand.
2. Harrogate Spa Spring Water The aim of this brief was to communicate the history of drinking water in the town of Harrogate and increase the perceived level of quality of the brand, without alienating consumers. Inclusion of historical references from the town, such as the an icon of The Royal Pump Room, helps to convey the appropriate history. These elements of the past are balanced with a contemporary logo to bring the brand up to date.
3. National Railway Museum This branding is current and contemporary whilst also reflecting the heritage of rail travel. It has a clear indication of speed and momentum with the angled slashes. These were included as a reference to the historic iconography and architecture of railways.
