The opening of the MSC Olympics was held yesterday August 22, 2011 at the MSC Covered Court with the theme, “Healthy and Alert Studentry; For Future University. The parade of participating delegations and Olympics officials was delayed from its original time which should have started at 7:30 a.m. because of the heavy rain experienced in most places in the province.. After the parade, the opening program pushed through with the following speakers: President of the College – Mr. Romulo H. Malvar, Dr. Leodegario Jalos – Vice-President for Academic Affairs, and the guest speaker – Mr. Danilo Ledesma

MSC Olympics 2011 opens

Mandia. The crowd went wild and high when the Cheer Dance Competition joined by every school started. The games started while some academic contest were held in the afternoon at the College Library. The team Nexus for Basketball had their game with the E - nnovators at Boac Covered Court, Nexus Softball Women and Nexus Volleyball Women were simultaneously held at the Diamond (MSC Oval) and MSC Covered Court. There was the Solidarity Meeting of OffiCoaches.

OSA hosts Cultural and Academic Competition 2011 By: Merry Ann Robles, Bernadeth Luisaga, Manilyn

The Cultural and Academic Competition hosted by OSA under the management of Prof. Rosalinda Castro was held at the MSC Library on August 22, at 2 p.m. This event was started with the usual opening prayer, national anthem, MSC Hymn and Marinduque March followed by an opening remarks by VicePresident Academic Affairs Dr. Leodegario M. Jalos Jr. and an inspirational message from the Chief Administrative Officer Mrs. Proserfina M. Mabiog. The competition had four categories: Impromptu, Oration, Poetry Interpretation

and Story Telling. Each school has its entry for every category. Mr. Randy T. Nobleza, SAS faculty gave the mechanics and criteria for judging the Impromptu and Oration while Ms. Jaze Marco, a contractual SSTEd instructor was tasked for Poetry Interpretation and Story Telling. Mrs. Joy S. Montejo, SIT faculty introduced the members of the jury – Ms. Anita M. Logmao, Marinduque Academy Teacher, and the Chairman of the Board of Judges, Mogpog SB Member Raymundo L. Larraquel and Mrs. Fe M. Magdurulan, a retired elementary teacher.
