Le t ' s take a look a t how God v iews homosexua l i t y . As has a l ready been s ta ted , God loves homosexua ls . God does no t , however , l o ve homosexua l i t y . Fo r ins tance , God says , "Do no t l i e wi th a man as one l i es w i th a woman ; tha t i s de tes tab le " (Lev i t i cus 18 :22 ) and " I f a man l i e s w i th a man as one l i es w i th a woman, bo th o f t hem have done wha t i s de tes tab le . They mus t be put to dea th ; t he i r b lood wi l l be on the i r own heads" (Lev i t i cus 20 :13 ) . God 32 v iews homosexua l i t y as "de tes tab le " o r , as in the King James ve rs ion o f the B i b le , "an abomina t i on" . No t i ce a lso t ha t in the Old Tes tamen t , the Mosa ic law requ i r ed tha t peop le who commi t ted homosexua l ac ts were to be pu t to dea th . Of cou rse , no t rue Chr i s t i an today wou ld expec t a homosexua l to be pu t to dea th . Chr i s t came to f r ee us f rom our bondage under the l aw. However , anyone who t r i es t o asse r t tha t homosexua l i t y i s no t opposed to God 's w i l l , o r t ha t homosexua l i t y is okay wi th God , mus t go t h rough some seve re sc r ip tu ra l con tor t i ons to t r y to prove the i r po in t .

Some may say tha t God on ly v iewed homosexua l i t y as a s in in the Old Tes tamen t , but because o f Chr i s t ' s sac r i f i ce , i t i s okay today . Aga in , sc r ip tu re has to be tw is ted in o rde r to come up wi th th is unders tand ing . Romans chap te r one makes i t c lea r tha t homosexua l i t y i s s t i l l de tes tab le t o God : "Because o f th i s , God gave them ove r to shamefu l lus t s . Even the i r women exchanged na tu r a l re la t i ons fo r unna tu ra l ones . In the same way the men a lso abandoned na tu ra l re la t i ons wi th women and were in f l amed wi th lus t fo r one ano the r . Men commi t ted i ndecen t ac ts w i th o the r men , and rece ived in themse lves the due pena l t y f o r the i r pe rve rs i on" (Romans 1 :26 -27) . No t i ce tha t these verses equa te homosexua l i t y w i th "shamefu l lus t s " , "unna tu ra l [ re la t i ons ] " , " indecen t ac ts " , and "pe rve r s ion " . Some argue t ha t the ve rses p reced ing these say t ha t the peop le were g i ven ove r to homosexua l i t y because they d id no t worsh ip God , bu t t ha t homosexua l i t y i s okay fo r those who worsh ip God. However , i f you read the ve rses as s ta ted , it is c lea r tha t homosexua l i t y i s no t on ly a resu l t o f worsh ip ing the c rea t ion ra the r t han worsh ip ing God , bu t i t i s in i t s own sense worsh i pp ing the c rea t ion ra the r t han worsh ipp ing God . Homosexua l i t y i s a sexua l s in , and can the re fo re be cons ide red sexua l immora l i t y . Pau l wr i t es , " I have wr i t t en to you in my le t te r no t t o assoc ia te w i th sexua l l y immora l peop le - no t a t a l l mean ing the peop le o f th i s worl d who are immora l , o r the g reedy and swind le rs , o r i do la te rs . Chr i s t i an i t y and Homosexua l i t y The homosexua ls and lesb ians have ga ined cons ide rab le po l i t i ca l and soc ia l momentum in Amer i ca .
