How to do a Gradient effect
So this is what your photoshop page should start off by looking like. I added a background copy incase I didn’t like someonething and wanted to start again. 2) In the bottom right can corner, there are different icons. Click on the icon that looks like the icon to the left and a list of different tools will come up. Click one the one tht says ‘Gradient’.
This screen will come up and then you click on the actually gradient bar.
This screen will then come up with present gradients. Click on the black to transparent gradient and on the lonbger gradient bar at the bottom, click on the black side until a colour chart comes up allowing you to change the black side to a different colour.
Once you have changed the colour to the colour you want. Move the bottom left marker on the gradient tool closer to the right side so there will be more colour on the picture.
While you are editing this the picture will begin to look like this. When you are happy with the result click ok.
The screen wil go back to this and before clicking okay. Change the ‘angle’ to either have the gradient on the top, bottom, sides or corners. Then click ‘ok’.
By the layers it have a drop box that says ‘Normal’ click on that and change it to soft lift and the picture will look like this. If you want to change the opacity to roughtl 80% the picture will look like this also.
the final finished outcome after editing (above) and the before unedited image (right).
