Wild Bohemia; full of natural, unruly beauty. For those free-spirited brides and boys who dream of walking bare-foot up the aisle on battered Persian rugs. Taking cues from natural found materials, wood, wickers and soft linens. A bold but natural palette born from the earth and lots of textural interest; a richness of deep mulberry, warm mustard, pale ash dust and soft pinks make up the colour rang. Dull highlights of vintage brass and copper with an abundance of candlelight finished the look. Naked tipis for the ceremony dressed with flowers and foliage and draped with taupe cotton fabric twisting around the poles. Flowers look wild, asymmetric and untamed with a mix of unusual textures with a base of dark. Bridal separates are still the go-to boho girl look, with soft loose tousled hair and sprigs of fresh flowers tucked in. Opt for a strong make-up look with glittering eyes and bold lip and go from day to night with animal head dresses for you and your guests. A contemporary, minimal feel with modern feminine fashion. Luxe but simple details with striking honeycomb structures with large, billowing floral arrangements. With lots of textural and tactile flowers and foliage using Pampas grass to really shape the arrangements. A palette of washed taupe, dusky pink and a dark inky blue adds some edge, mixing cotton, linen and velvet through the shoot plus brass and gold candle holders for timeless appeal. A simple cake stack in brushed water colours reflected the palette too. Paired back bridal fashion came from Maids to Measure with a soft pink tie back dress, Rembo Styling slim silhouettes with geo lave patterns and fresh, new gem stone pieces from Eclectic Eccentricity with slick footwear from Florence. Undone chignon and tucked up pony tails for the hair and feminine soft pink dewy, iridescent make-up all part of the look for our girls.

enry and Charlotte’s wedding captured everything that was unique to themselves, including marrying on Friday 13th – the day the bride’s parents met. A Midlands affair situated in a tranquil Yorkshire setting with rolling hills and surrounded by local farmland; you can just imagine how romantic their wedding day was. Lace, candles and laughter made for the perfect celebration for this happy couple. We’ll hand you over to the bride, Charlotte, so you can find out more and have a nosey at their beautiful photographs captured by Lee Garland… “Holdsworth House ticked all our boxes by hosting the ceremony, wedding breakfast and the evening festivities, meaning our guests didn’t have to travel much. The building itself featured low ceilings, huge mismatched wooden doorframes and rustic 17th century décor. It provided the perfect backdrop for our cosy, vintage wedding. The style of our wedding was ethereal, relaxed and unique.

We wanted to tell our story and invite people into our adventure so far! We’ve travelled a lot together so decided to use maps, compasses and postcards to decorate our day. Each table was decorated with trinkets from the countries we have visited and a story about our time there. Even the cake told a narrative of how we met, got engaged and got married! We infused our own alcohol for the wedding favours; using a different flavour for each table. We designed our own stamp and bought gold ink which we used to emboss the stationery and favours, along with homemade heart bunting and fairy lights to add to the romance. My dress was a Maggie Sottero gown – my favourite feature was the beautiful geometric lace and flowing skirt, it was so comfortable! I accessorised the back as it had a high neckline with a bespoke back chain from AMYOBridal on Etsy. As comfort was important for me, I knew I wouldn’t keep my heels on for long so I bought some lace anklets from the BarefootShop also on Etsy to change into for dancing. I wanted the bridesmaids to be happy and comfortable too, so I said anything goes with accessories, hair and make-up! I found the bridesmaid dresses on ASOS which were a blush pink and decided to accessorise them with gold to add a warm touch. Our flower girls wore lace dresses and pink headbands which tied in wonderfully with our romantic wedding vibes. The groom and his two best men went to Master Debonair in Newcastle for their unique suits. We mixed up the patterns and fabrics; alternating florals and checks, blues with greys. This worked lovely with the flowing bridesmaid dresses. We put together a great playlist which included everything from Motown to Hip-Hop! We loved the idea of having a photo-booth for added fun and memories which was provided by Picaboo Photography in a wonderfully kitted out VW van. My sister wrote an eye-watering poem as part of the speeches which was a beautiful personal touch and the best man; equipped with a bottle of Sambuca and some cinnamon powder opened up his own flaming Sambuca bar outside! We also spent 8 weeks learning a routine for our first dance as a surprise for our guests. Your wedding day should be an expression of your love and a celebration to your future. You can easily get bogged down with traditions, but our advice would be: don’t fret the formalities and just do what makes you happy, everyone will love you for it!”

The Guest List You may want an intimate wedding or a really big party, but do remember guests’ equal money. The Venue Your venue will set the location, the date and the overall feel for your wedding. Decide what key things are important to you, such as; • What is the maximum capacity for guests? • Do you want a civil ceremony or a religious ceremony? Do you want a venue that can host you all day? • Are you looking for a venue with onsite accommodation? • Does your venue have a preferred supplier list? • Don’t forget to ask what is included in the quote and most importantly what isn’t, and check with the venue if they have any restrictions. The Design A simple Pinterest board will give you and your potential suppliers a feel for the style you are trying to achieve. PEA AND MINT SOUP WITH EDIBLE FLOWERS Soups are always a favourite for couples to choose and this simple pairing is definitely a firm favourite from our menus. Its fresh and vibrant flavours matched with its striking colour and the addition of bright edible flowers make it a wonderfully tasty way to start the Wedding Breakfast.

ROAST SIRLOIN OF LOCALLY REARED BEEF When this is chosen for a Wedding Breakfast menu there aren’t many guests who request a different dish as nearly everyone loves a roast dinner. We aim to use locally sourced products wherever we can in our dishes and our butchers have beef reared from fields across Nottinghamshire. Paired with the couples chosen sides, homemade Yorkshire puddings and Gail’s secret recipe red wine gravy which has become a thing of legend around the staff and venues we work at, makes this dish our top picked by far.

Couples have the difficult task of choosing a menu that suits all of their guests and their tastes. So sometimes simple is the way to go but simple doesn’t have to mean boring, this salad is a classic mix of flavours and is very simple to put together but using the best mozzarella, the freshest vine tomatoes and home grown basil to infuse our oil is what changes it into one of the favourites from our menus.

This tart is definitely a favourite among our couples and not many weekends go by without us serving this. It helps that it is also my favourite and no matter how many times I make or eat it, it always delivers. We use a family recipe for the sweet, tangy filling and with homemade sweet pastry which provides a crisp bite followed by a crumble. It is a pairing...that cannot fail to impress your guests.

PAN ROASTED RUMP OF LAMB This dish has become a favourite through couples who have tried to stay away from the classic Wedding Breakfast roast and it definitely deserves it’s place on the favourites list. Once again we have fantastic locally reared lamb combined with the classic flavour pairing of garlic and rosemary while it finishes off roasting in the oven which is the beginning of the dishes sauce. We recommend to serve the lamb pink to ensure the meats flavour and quality are shown off and the dish keeps its spot on the favourites.

A classic, crowd pleasing dessert which is a favourite among our couples. We use locally grown strawberries, cream from the dairy down the road and our own homemade chewy meringues. When combined they are the perfect dessert for a proper English summertime Wedding. We can also use locally grown rhubarb poached in a secret poaching liquid to provide lovely sweet and tangy rhubarb to finish off the dish. "I love to organise styled shoots, in the hope that it will inspire couples planning for their weddings. Blush and grey are a perfect match and although theyâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re widely used at weddings, they are rarely used to produce a moodier look for the table. The silk runners and candles really tie it all in, but it was the beautiful centrepiece created by Catkin Flowers that was the real show-stopper. Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m a massive fan of asymmetrical, natural flower arrangements, so this was a dream to shoot! The Camellia House at Wollaton Hall is a beautiful glass house. My slight obsession with greenhouses might have prompted me to pick this location, but the light during the day really made for some beautiful photographs." nspired by the elegance of The Walled Garden at Beeston Fields in Nottingham, Áine and Anthony celebrated their special day surrounded by their closest family and friends. The Gribbons Photography were on hand to capture their beautiful big day and these gorgeous images will certainly capture your heart… The happy couple chose to tie the knot in Áine’s family church, where she has been a part of the parish for over 30 years. Their family friend and priest married them, and the ceremony was incredibly meaningful to the newlyweds. Their reception was held at The Walled Garden at Beeston Fields. Áine and Anthony immediately fell in love with the venue, and from the moment they pulled up into the driveway they knew it was the perfect setting for their celebrations. They chose to get married in late September to appreciate

After initially visiting Italy to look for wedding venues, Áine and Anthony decided home is where the heart is and chose to tie the knot in the UK. The Walled Garden at Beeston Fields had the elegant Italian vibe that they had adored, and the marquee meant they could make the most of the beautiful space. They opted for an ultra-chic grey and cream colour palette that worked wonderfully with their venue and Italian inspired theme. This wedding day was all about elegance and romance, so they used lots of candles and string lights throughout the marquee to achieve an intimate atmosphere. This crafty bride also spray-painted all of the mirrors and table number frames in metallic rose gold to complement their colour scheme. Sophie at Imagine Events styled the room, while stationery by Rose Press set the scene for their special day. Áine wore a beautiful custom-made wedding dress by Kula Tsuardi, which was altered by Tracey at Javeli Brides. The gown featured lace sleeves with a tulle skirt and a pair of show-stopping Jimmy Choo heels. Áine’s three-year old daughter wore a dress in the same fabric by the same designer, while the bridesmaids wore gorgeous grey gowns by Maids to Measure. Anthony donned a smart black tuxedo by Reiss, while the groomsmen and father of bride hired suits from Moss Bros. Guests were treated to canapés on arrival, including salmon, beef and goats cheese along with bottles of beer and fruity cocktails. For the wedding breakfast, Áine and Anthony spoiled their guests with ham hock terrine for starters, chicken and wild mushroom for main and a scrumptious pavlova for dessert. They also had a statement cookie wall for guests to help themselves to, created by Yummy Little Cakes. When it came to keeping everyone entertained, Áine and Anthony surprised their guests with lawn games, a giant helter skelter slide and music by DJ Razor and Mansfield Avenue. Áine explains, “Enjoy every minute, especially your time away together with the photographer. It made us sit back and appreciate the day. Also, the drive to the venue by ourselves allowed us to soak up the fact that we were now married.”

e have worked with Rachael and Ian for many years, in fact since the birth of Save the Date Magazine. They have become lovely friends of ours and we’ve loved watching their fabulous business and family evolve over time! Here we get to find out what Rachael can expect from a typical day in the life of a wedding photographer … "Ian and I adore love stories. We’re romantics at heart and remember clearly that electricity when you first hold hands, the butterflies when you arrange that next date, the complete ‘heart in the mouth feeling’ when he (or she!) pops the question. A wedding is not only a massive, amazing celebration with friends and family but, at the heart of it, is a couple who want to spend their lives together which, to us, is pretty incredible! It doesn’t matter if it’s held in a spectacular cathedral, a country house or a beautiful yurt in the sunshine at home, we always see the boy and girl who fell in love and that is what we try really hard to capture.

One of the things I love most about our job is the variety and the fantastic couples we get to know (who often go on to become lovely friends). One day, we can be surrounded by 150 people having far too much fun shooting a wedding in the Rose Garden at Belvoir Castle and the next I can be fully immersed in designing a beautiful album (with just the right music on to kindle my creativity!). Most days start with the brilliant hustle and bustle of family breakfast and walks to school before peace descends – I love that hit of fresh air before work begins! I’m definitely a morning person and do my most creative work over a nice cup of tea. Sometimes, I’ll be working on a recent shoot, whether it features those cheeky little glances between a bride and her new groom or a lifestyle shoot (now that one of our previous couples have a little extension to their family!) Then I’m off out – it might be an engagement shoot or a meeting with a lovely new bride and groom, recently engaged and bursting with excitement about the planning ahead. I’m very much a people person – I think that’s why I was drawn to photography...a chance to meet new friends, learn new things and capture people at their very best, what could be better? My favourite aspect of a pre-wed shoot (other than meeting for tea and cake!) is learning about how couples came together and what makes them tick. It’s the perfect opportunity to really focus on that beautiful interplay between two people in love. Our own love story began at university (in Fresher’s week!). After a year apart while Ian studied in the States (where neither of us were certain we’d last the duration), we knew we had something more than a student fling....a proposal on a New Zealand glacier, an exciting growing business and gorgeous little ones later (who knew we’d have twins?!) and we’re still going strong." And the thing that I love now is curling up on the sofa, leafing through our own photo albums and, if I’m very lucky, Ian will bring me a G and T – he has a sixth sense for what I’m thinking (which comes in brilliantly handy when we shoot together to tell your story on all those incredible wedding days!)
