ith a simplistic approach and a focus on the natural beauty of the setting, we could argue that this is our favourite photo shoot to date. Taking place at the stunning Aswarby Rectory, a beautiful exclusive use, country house wedding venue, the images reflect the natural & raw wonderment of the place. Only recently opening its doors, Aswarby Rectory offers weddings a home from home having undergone a full renovation during 2017/18. The style is stripped back and rustic with an emphasis on understated style and simplicity. This photoshoot derived from a dream team of wedding suppliers, The Wedding Collective and they explain the inspiration behind the shoot; â&#x20AC;&#x153;The team drew their inspiration from the current season of warm earthy tones, resulting in a simple, pared back autumnal gathering. Letting individual creativity speak for itself, their combined talents worked effortlessly within the beautiful and characterful surroundings of Aswarby Rectory.â&#x20AC;?

eing a wedding stylist is the job of dreams, right? Here we meet Charlotte of Fine and Dandy Events to discover more;

Tell us a bit about you… Have you always been an event stylist? I worked as a designer in the fashion industry for 15 years and I also have a huge obsession with interior design - I grew up in the textiles industry as my parents owned a textiles manufacturing company in Nottingham. I always wanted to follow in their footsteps and create my own business, and whilst planning my own wedding, ‘Fine & Dandy’ was formed. It was a great way to bring all my passions of design, interiors & styling together, and styling weddings and events is where my heart truly lies. What services do Fine & Dandy offer? We can design, create and style a wedding from start to finish, or our couples can simply hire a selection of our products from our prop shop. We offer a free on-the-day styling service and are happy to create bespoke pieces for our clients. Our products include our flowers walls, 5ft gold illuminated letters, donut walls, free-standing and table-top blossom trees, styling accessories, centrepieces and so much more. Tell us about your studio? We have a creative studio & showroom in Nottingham, where our clients can view our full range of props and styling accessories. This is my happy place, where I spend a lot of my time creating new ideas and themes. We offer no-obligation consultations at our studio, which are relaxed and informal, and a great way to get to know our couples. I love meeting new clients and discussing their exciting plans for their big day. No ideas are off limits, and this is where the magic happens! Describe Fine & Dandy’s style. We take much of our inspiration from the world of interiors, and we also love mixing old with new. We source a lot of our pieces from Scandinavia & the Netherlands, and we like to mix antiques with more contemporary items. I have so much passion for what I do… If I don’t like it, I won’t stock it! I don’t follow any particular wedding trends, which our couples seem to like, as they know they will end up with something tailored to meet their needs. Which products are popular for 2018 / 2019? I would say anything which brings the outdoors in. Our silk blossom trees and flower walls are hugely popular, and can be made bespoke to suit each individual wedding. We are also using a lot of foliage, botanicals and greenery within our table centrepieces and on-the-day stationery. Geometrics are also featuring within our products, as we have a huge selection of terrariums available, which are the perfect way to showcase florals, foliage & candles. What do you love most about the world of weddings? What’s not to love? I love the diversity that it brings! One minute I can be dressing a fabulous old barn, and the next I can be creating a beautiful seating plan. I get such a buzz from meeting new couples, and working on a new brief. And it is so rewarding when you know you have done a job well, and you receive such positive feedback from not only clients, but their friends and family too. It’s a wonderful industry to be a part of, and I have made so many friends through my couples, and also other wedding suppliers. I really do have the dream job, I have to pinch myself sometimes! here’s a new kid on the block in the world of wedding venues and we think you’re going to love it. The brand new Haarlem Mill has been converted and restored and is now complete and ready to go for exclusive use weddings across both floors. Situated just outside the market town of Wirksworth in Derbyshire, this unique venue is the brainchild of business partners Helen & Natalie who are catering for on-trend brides who are in search of a stylish, industrial setting for their big day. The two floors are totally exclusive along with the terrace and the super chic upper lounge bar which offers a great space for guests to gather before and after the ceremony, and then a quiet space to relax and escape to later in the evening. Despite the fact that the venue can cater for up to 150 guests, it still maintains an intimate, cosy and romantic feel. “Natalie and I worked with an interior designer to create an ultra stylish space that we feel is uniquely different,” says

Helen. “The building has been lovingly restored and we’ve maintained many of its original features, from the exposed red brick walls inside and the wooden beams, to the industrial metal windows. All of this provides a backdrop to plush seating areas in our stylish lounges, creating an element of comfort and luxury that contrasts perfectly with the industrial rawness at the heart of the building.” A truly personal service is offered to each and every wedding and the food can be tailored to the couples personalities and tastes. “Our pies recently left grown men speechless at a wedding and one mother of the bride said 'it was the best food she had ever eaten at a wedding’!” says Helen. The venue has recently been granted a licence for wedding ceremonies and these are being held in a large red brick, beamed room on the upper floor of the building with superb views of rolling countryside. And to top it all off, there’s the beautiful bridal suite which brides are falling in love with already. FRENCH COUNTRY ELEGANCE

e’ve always been huge fans of Lisa Jayne Creative and we can’t wait to share her special day with you! Lisa & Mat’s wedding day was bursting at the seams with lovely, personal details that reflected them both as a couple. Get stuck into their gorgeous images and be inspired for your very own celebration… “Our wedding took place on Mat’s family farm. We wanted a big day bursting with personal details that encapsulated what we both do while bringing our family and friends together. Although we didn’t have a traditional wedding theme, we were inspired by French Country Elegance and wanted lots of timeless details. Our ceremony took place in an old barn that we decorated with hay bales, lavender in zinc buckets and a chandelier that was borrowed from Fran at Modern Heritage. Sophie Burkett conducted our humanist ceremony and we wrote our own vows, before moving to the marquee for welcome drinks and canapés.

Mat and I then went off to Cadwell Park Race Circuit, which the farm surrounds, for our photographs. After this, we joined our guests for more pictures and plenty of fun. To keep our guests entertained, we had garden games and space hopper racing horses, which everyone enjoyed before the breakfast and evening party. We also provided our guests with a homemade chalkboard photo-booth and goodie bags for the kids – who also got to ride in the farm vehicles. Our friend Baz is a festival DJ and did the music for us. A friend also helped us with fireworks and we had a lot of free booze for everyone to enjoy! Every detail of our wedding day was created by Mat and myself, along with help from our family and friends. From the chopping board wedding favours to the cake table which we made out of wood found on the farm, to the taper candles on the tables and the cakes made by my friends. My gown was lovingly remade by Kate Beaumont, using my Grandma’s wedding dress that she wore at her wedding in 1961. My bridesmaids and groomsmaid wore TFNC dresses, with the flower girls wearing gowns from Monsoon. The groom, groomsmen and bridesman wore suits by Jager and Marc Darcy. Our canapés, table platters and Pie ‘n’ Mash were supplied by PieMinister. Our table platters consisted of scotch eggs, giant crisps, honey glazed sausages and olives. Guests pre-ordered their wedding breakfast pies which included Deer Stalker, Moo, Heidi, Free Ranger and Mexicow. PieMinister also cater for all dietary requirements so everyone got a pie! For our evening food, we spoiled our guests with pizzas from Hidden Gem Pizzas, who stayed over and served bacon butties to all of our guests who camped on site – around 70! Located a short distance from Nottingham City Centre, the boutique boasts a collection of exquisite wedding dresses, all of which have been expertly designed using luxurious fabrics. We can’t wait to find out more about Dream Wedding Dress, so let’s get stuck in… How long has the boutique been open for now? “It’s hard to believe but we have been open for nearly ten years! I came into the bridal world from a completely different professional background and we have gone from strength to strength. Over the years the boutique has become identifiable as the “little shop on the corner”, well known by potential brides even before they are engaged.” How would you describe the “Dream Wedding Dress’ experience, and what can brides expect when they come to see you for an appointment?

“We offer exclusive use of the boutique during our 90-minute appointments. This ensures a relaxed, unhurried and special experience for our brides. We are on hand with friendly and practical advice on styles. This is based on what ideas the bride has, the sort of wedding she is having and our years of experience in helping brides to choose their dresses. There is no limit to the number of dresses brides can try on within their appointment. We offer a pressure-free service to enable brides to make the right decision for them.” Which designers do you stock? “We are the exclusive Nottingham stockists of award-winning designer collections from Blue by Enzoani and Sassi Holford. Enzoani has just won bridal manufacturer of the year and Sassi Holford has been named as the bridal designer of the year. We also stock White Rose Graceful which is a stunning plus-size collection.”

What do you feel makes your service stand out from the crowd? “We like to think that our exclusive, quality designs and personal service will help with calming any bridal nerves. Over the years our experience has grown within the industry and we enjoy helping brides to find their dream dress with minimal stress. Wedding dresses purchased from us are eligible for £1000 free insurance cover for extra peace of mind. Our 0% finance scheme (subject to status) is very popular for brides who want to spread the cost of purchasing their wedding dress.” What do you enjoy most about being involved in the wonderful world of weddings? “For me personally, being involved in a bride’s special day is a privilege. Many brides have concerns about finding a dress to suit her personality, her shape or the type of wedding she is having. There is nothing quite like that moment when a bride sees herself in front of the mirror and her eyes light up, when you know she is thinking ‘this is it’.”

What is the current trend in wedding dress styles? “Our amazing 2019 Enzoani Collection is just arriving in store. We are seeing a move towards trumpet and mermaid designs in plain crepe with lacy illusion backs or stunning cut-out detail in lace on the train. Current season designs feature sheer paneling to the front and sides of dresses, but don’t worry, they do come in lined versions as well! By contrast we are seeing soft, floaty, more bohemian designs featuring the most amazing lace. Our brides are really spoilt for choice!” What is the most popular choice of wedding dress? “With weddings taking place in such a variety of venues and countries it is hard to pick just one popular style. Whilst the classics never date, we are seeing a lot of brides asking for more simple styles with accents of lace rather than masses of detail. For brides travelling abroad to hot countries more lightweight, packable gowns are popular.” Do you cater for bridesmaids? “Yes, we have an extensive range of bridesmaid’s dresses from True Bride and the Dessy Group.”

he team at Honeysuckle and Castle worked together to plan the beautiful wedding of Hannah & Jordan. Here, they tell us all about it. "Hannah and Jordan’s wedding was an absolute dream from start to finish. Even from our initial planning meetings with them, we knew they had a good eye for style and would get creative with The Riding School and completely transform it. The venue is a big open space, and the exposed brick makes it a rustic, blank-canvas – we always love to see how different couples put their ‘stamp’ on it, and Hannah and Jordan certainly did that. Their wedding décor was romantic, elegant and ethereal, with festoon lights and lanterns supplied by Fabric Theatre hanging from the ceiling, combined with the stunning blooms from Number 27 Floral Designs, and of course the calligraphy and stationery.

The colour scheme stayed neutral, with splashes of a dusky rose pink which was prominent in the bridesmaids’ attire and in Hannah’s bouquet. The reception drinks and canapés, plus the wedding breakfast were expertly provided by Black Peppermint Food Co. The couple opted for a traditional set up of round tables during the wedding breakfast which looked gorgeous with blush pink table runners and a floral arrangement. For the evening, as the music played and the adults danced the night away, Hannah and Jordan had opted to supply a sweet table, as well as a tipi for the children to play in – this is such a great touch to keep the younger guests entertained, and the adults joined in too! After the wedding, we received a lovely email from the new Mr & Mrs, saying: “Where do we start with thanking you?! You were incredible from the moment we met with you right up to our wedding day. Thank you to Emma, our wedding co-ordinator, for all of her help, advice, warmth and all that you did to make our big day run as smoothly as it did. We couldn’t have done it without you and you’re an absolute credit to Honeysuckle & Castle. And to the whole Honeysuckle & Castle team – THANK YOU! The Riding School was our dream venue and our wedding day was the best day of our lives. We couldn’t have loved the place more.”

We are over the moon to be able to share their beautiful big day with you! Set at the stunning West Mill in Derby in June 2018, this couple’s summer celebration featured a neutral colour scheme with dashes of blue. We’ll hand you over to Katie so you can find out a little more… “To say it was the best day of our lives would be an understatement! It was incredible and we feel so blessed to have experienced it together with our family and closest friends. The colour scheme was neutral with lots of greenery and white flowers, while the bridesmaids and groomsmen were in shades of blue. We aimed to create a relaxed yet romantic atmosphere, adding personal touches with handmade decorations and lots of photos. We created signs with lyrics from our wedding songs and made cookies with quirky messages. 55

From the moment we walked into The West Mill, we knew this would be the place we would be getting married. We are both from Derby and went to school not far from the venue, it just felt so right for us. The fact it is just beautiful was an added bonus! We made everything from the hanging seating plan and wooden table numbers, to multiple selfie boards and the 'Mr & Mrs' signs for our chairs. I even made the confetti! We created our own props and signs for a photobooth and even had blow up flamingos from my hen do as fancy dress. Instead of favours we donated a small amount on behalf of each guest to two charities close to our hearts. Everyone understood exactly why we had done this and it made us so happy to see everyone wearing their new charity pins into the evening. My dress was a fitted â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;Martina Lianaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; dress from The Wedding House in Derby. Lewis and his groomsmen wore a blue coloured suit from Moss Bros and my beautiful bridesmaids wore light blue, strapless dresses from Pretty Little Thing. For our drinks reception we served beer, gin and tonic and a special cocktail of gin, rhubarb and ginger ale. For the wedding breakfast we served smoked salmon or mango and brie parcels, followed by a chicken dish or vegetarian wellington for the main and finished with a trio of mini deserts of chocolate blondie, lemon posset and red velvet cheesecake. Our cake was made by the talented Sophisticakes. In the evening we had acoustic guitarists sing some of our favourite songs, including our first dance. RJL events (who we saw at The Wedding Event With A Difference catwalk) then played us into the night with a DJ set. Our advice? Enjoy the whole process and take it all in. Once the day is over, you will have a beautiful marriage to look forward to with your best friend."
