swarby Rectory was the perfect setting for Charlotte & Ryan’s wedding day – which was planned in just six months! We’ll hand you straight over to the beautiful bride so you can find out a little more about their big day… “The whole day was magical from start to finish and was more perfect than we could have ever imagined. We had our ceremony at the stunning Aswarby Rectory, filled with candles down the aisle and rustic benches, followed by reception drinks in the grounds outside. The night ended with lots of gin and all the dance moves thanks to our band Tailor & Co. From the moment we drove through the gates and stepped inside Aswarby Rectory we both knew it was where we wanted to get married. It is a beautiful hidden secret, nestled in the Lincolnshire countryside, decorated in a simple and elegant way, with a rustic feel throughout. As soon as we met the owners, Donna and Richard, they

were so welcoming and helpful and were more than happy to go out of their way to make our day as perfect as possible. Rustic, romantic and relaxed were the words we wanted to use to describe the style and setting of our wedding day. Our colour scheme featured neutrals and golds with hints of pastels throughout including my favourite colour – pale green/blue which I tried to sneak in as much as possible! Florals and boho wreaths were incorporated on our invitations, menus, order of ceremony, seating plan and welcome sign. We collected jam jars from friends and family and bought a selection of candles, recycled glass vases and decorations from Homesense, Sostrene Greene, H&M Home and IKEA. We purchased a personalised wooden guest book from Etsy and provided guests with a black and white polaroid camera to take photos and leave a message for us. Our flowers were from seasonal local florist Elder & Wild - they were absolutely stunning and filled the venue with the most amazing scent of fresh wild flowers. We chose the ‘Wild & Free’ option, which allowed us to choose our floral palette to suit the look and feel of our day. Elder & Wild supplied us with buckets of fresh locally grown flowers and created a free-standing meadow piece for the fireplace, buttonholes for the groomsmen and my beautiful bridal bouquet including cream, champagne and pale pink coloured roses, peonies and ranunculus filled out with greenery and eucalyptus to add the rustic bohemian feel I was looking for. I fell in love with the lace and hidden detail in all of the Rembo Styling dresses and I loved the fact it was a bit boho but elegant at the same time. I found my dress at Alexandra Anne - a beautiful bridal boutique tucked away in the Chatsworth Country Estate. Jess was so lovely and patient with us, I finally decided on the ‘Wild Wonder’ and it was absolutely perfect, I didn’t want to take it off! Ryan and his groomsmen wore grey checked suits from Reiss and my five beautiful bridesmaids wore green sage pleated dresses from ASOS with all matching shoes from H&M. Salted Orange catering provided all of our food and it was delicious! The wedding breakfast consisted of cold meats, cheeses and antipasti served on wooden planks – we wanted the food to fit in with the relaxed vibe. We had chicken and truffle mashed potato and then a selection of three desserts.

For the evening food we had ‘Tex-Mex’ as a nod to the three years we lived in Texas together. Our beautiful cake was made by Claire Elizabeth and it was exactly how I pictured it. The cake was a simple two tier semi-naked cake with gold foil, decorated with some of the flowers from Elder & Wild, and it tasted as good as it looked! In the evening we had the feel-good trio Tailor & Co who entertained guests with classics and modern hits and kept everyone on the dance floor. We had the fire pits lit and had sparklers outside once it got dark, followed by more dancing and all the gin! My top tips for future brides and grooms would be to enjoy the planning, be as organised as you can and make the most of the planning process from start to finish because you’ll miss it when it's gone! Try and make your wedding personal to you and your other half, and don’t get too worried about the traditions - it is your day so make sure it has everything you both really want and is perfectly suited to you and your personalities.”

We started restoring the farm buildings and while doing some renovation work on one of the cottages I asked my now wife Sarah to marry me. Luckily, she said ‘yes’ and we started our search for the perfect venue. Sarah wanted something elegant and intimate and I wanted something built of timber and stone that was also big enough to accommodate my extended farming family. For couples who are having a civil ceremony and seated reception in the barn, we have capacity for 130-day guests and a further 100 guests in the evening. If you are marrying off-site, we can accommodate 160 guests for your reception and again, a further 100 guests in the evening. What do you love most about being a part of the wedding industry?

Is the course suitable for any ages?

Crazy golf has been popular in its modern form since the 1920s and is currently enjoying a renaissance. “Who doesn’t love a game of crazy golf?” Playable by all ages, it really does act as a great ice-breaker and gets people chatting and sharing anecdotes. We provide four sizes of putters so everyone can play. What happens if it rains?

Occasionally, it does rain and sometimes torrentially. That said, heavy rain is strangely more the exception than the rule in this country and short shower bursts tend to be more likely on rain-days than a constant deluge, so you will find that more times than not, the course is perfectly playable outside at your event. What’s included in the hire?

he date has been set, the perfect venue all booked. You have said ‘yes to the dress’ or suit. Your photographer, flowers and band are all secured. Your invitations have been sent out and the RSVPs are coming back thick and fast. All your friends and family are going to be there but how are you going to keep them entertained between the ceremony and the photos, the wedding breakfast and the speeches? Don’t worry, we have you covered. Our portable 9 hole crazy golf course is the ideal entertainment for guests of all ages, no matter their golfing ability! In fact, the worse you play, the funnier the game becomes. People can’t help but smile when they see our course and you will forever be known as the ‘awesome couple’ who had crazy golf at their wedding. What a great idea, but how does it all work? Will it fit in at your venue and what happens if it rains? We will answer some of the common questions our couples ask and reveal how we can help make your special day go with a swing!

How long can I hire a course for? We provide our courses for hire on a “day-event” basis so you and all your guests can enjoy playing for as long as you need it. We set up the course for you before your first guest arrives and collect it at a convenient time for you and your venue. Is there a limit to how far you will travel? No limit. We are based in Leicester, the centre of the country, with good road links in all directions. We provide free delivery within Leicestershire and then a nominal additional travel cost beyond. How long does it take to set up? It takes approximately 50 minutes to set up one of our 9 hole courses if we are able to get our vehicle close to the set up area. A similar time to pack up.

As well as the 9 exciting holes and obstacles (including a 4ft tall castle and a windmill with moving sails), we provide a selection of rubber headed clubs in 4 sizes; 50 low-bounce golf balls and score cards and mini-pencils so some friendly competition can take place. How big is the course? The course can be set up in any configuration to fit your space. It can also be spread over a number of areas. To allow walking space between the “holes”, we would recommend a minimum area of 12m x 6m Can the course be set up anywhere? Pretty much, yes. All we ask is that the ground be fairly level. Some undulation is acceptable as we can level the course out on small elevations. Grass, tarmac, gravel or concrete. Inside or out. The course has a rubber underside to protect any interior floors. We have plenty of experience of positioning the course for good play. Think our course will be perfect for your wedding day then why not get in touch!

artha and Dave created the most idyllic, rustic and relaxed wedding at their family farm which is brimming with creativity and personality. Here, Martha tells us all about it; "We live in the Seychelles teaching on a small island called Praslin, but wanted to get married back at home with all our friends and family. We had a gloriously sunny, relaxed, countryside wedding on the family farm. We knew we wanted our guests to have a fantastic time and to have a fuss-free, fun wedding surrounded by the people we love most. The starting point for our planning was with our wedding stationery. This was designed by my fabulously talented best friend, Alexandra Danielle Mannion. We told her we wanted to combine our tropical home in The Seychelles with my parent's dairy farm where the wedding would take place, so she designed a series of beautiful tropical cows which we fell in love with straight away and she created dreamy bespoke wedding stationery from that!

My parents had organised a surprise vintage tractor and trailer to take us to the church which was amazing. We hired a traditional marquee and mismatched chairs and trestle tables, which we knew we wanted as rustic and paired back as possible. We decorated the garden with festoon lighting we bought which my Dad rigged up as an outside maypole - it was spectacular at night! I had collected tourist maps of Praslin to wrap bread rolls and had gathered pretty shells from our local beach in the Seychelles to give as favours. David's aunty is an amazing florist (Jill Duerden) and his sister runs an awesome landscape gardeners (Humble Bee Gardeners) who grows beautiful plants. We just gave them the brief of loose and natural flowers, neutral for the church and then bright and bold for the wedding reception. They did an incredible job, from creating loose romantic bouquets and greenery crowns for the ceremony to milk churns brimming with riotous colours for the reception. They spent months making organic rose petal confetti for us too - which was fun for the guests and looked great in the photos. We were so lucky with the weather, it was a glorious day and ended up with a lot of friends and family swimming in the natural pool in my parent's garden! My advice for any future bride would be, enjoy it and don't sweat the small stuff! The most important thing about our wedding was the people there, so once the invitations are out just get excited about the amazing day you will have and relax!"
