Continuing Education Recap: Implementation of an AUC-Based Vancomycin Dosing Protocol By Rey Wang, PharmD, Educational Affairs Co-Chair
After more than an entire year of virtual meetings and CE events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SBLBSHP successfully hosted our very first in-person event of 2021 at the Bluewater Grill in Redondo Beach! On 8/25/21, we were honored to invite Dr. Daisy Lee, an ambulatory care oncology pharmacist at Kaiser Permanente South Bay, as well as Western University 4th-year pharmacy student, Stephanie Lee. In a tagteam effort, the dynamic duo presented on a relevant and potentially practice-changing topic for our profession - the implementation of an AUC-based dosing protocol for vancomycin to replace the traditional trough-based monitoring. A wonderful presentation combined with a beautiful venue with COVID safety precautions made for a memorable evening for our ~40 attendees. (continued on next page)
