The Kelly Hales Memorial Pharmacist of the Year Award was established in 2011 to recognize a SBLBSHP member who has made significant, influential, tangible, and sustained contributions to the practice and profession of pharmacy in California. The award is named after Kelly Hales, an executive pharmacy director of Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, who tragically lost his life in a workplace shooting. Our chapter was pleased to present this award to Dr. Muno Bholat, an accomplished pharmacy director with 40+ years of service to the California healthcare system. Since 2015, he has been the pharmacist-in-charge for Providence Health and Services in Southern California, transforming the pharmaceutical operations at Providence Little Company Medical Centers in Torrance and San Pedro as well as Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica.
