ers,” em-tec marketing specialist Sabine Müller-Schneid says, adding: “Particularly regarding ECMO devices, which were used more frequently for COVID-19 treatments. As a key supplier we were able to meet 2020’s increased demand also in respect of the connected flow sensors.” One of em-tec’s most recently developed products is the electronic component SonoTT™ Skylark gold. Aside from the established flow measurement technology, it also incorporates a bubble detection feature. “Bubbles in extracorporeal circuits are critical and have to be detected,” Müller-Schneid explains. “The challenge is not only to detect the bubble just a few millimetres in size, but also to pass on the sensor’s information to the main system within a short time.” SonoTT™ Skylark gold is the technically polished solution to this problem.
