Handmade high-tech – a visit at SCANPAN A tour around the family-owned company SCANPAN near Aarhus, Denmark, is a trip in the past, the present and the future. The respect and care that the employees show at every single production stage explains, why SCANPAN kitchen equipment is known and loved for its good properties. The final product has been through so many hands and scrupulous quality controls that the visible pride that the SCANPAN staff radiates is intelligible. Success doesn’t come without an effort – it requires constant creativity and innovation to inspire gourmands globally. It is here in Ryomgaard in the heart of Jutland, where SCANPAN has its head office, that the main part of production takes place. Since 1956, the Danish owned company has supplied kitchen equipment to a growing circle of fans, nationally and internationally. The basis of production is squeeze casted recycled aluminium, which forms the core of the product. A visit to the factory reveals that the final product has been through no less than eight different stations in the production process, before it is approved and qualified stove-ready. Anyone starting out with a SCANPAN product will quickly realize that this is an excellent foundation for modern cooking. Pots and pans bearing the SCANPAN quality mark, is pampered from the factory – but it pays back in true joy in the kitchen and good results.

“For the love of good food” SCANPAN’s passion for good food is reflected in the way we produce our unique cookware. The way we see it, good food deserves quality tools made with the same commitment, respect and care that we exercise when producing and handling our food.
Sustainability without compromise SCANPAN utilizes 100% recycled aluminium – aluminium that might previously have served as beer cans, bicycle frames or something else. However, using a recycled material in our production does not mean that we compromise on quality. The recirculated, melted down aluminium is a completely pure raw material, its quality at least as great as new, non-recycled aluminium, sharing the same unrivalled properties regarding heat conduction. The only difference is that the environmental is greatly diminished when applying the recycled metal. Combined with the extended longevity of SCANPAN’s products, the use of recycled aluminium helps us reduce our carbon footprint and ensure that we make the most of the resources available to us. This makes our products the ideal choice for anyone who shares our commitment to lessening our impact on the environment.

Rockwell testing leaves a small dot in the steel
for optimum cutting performance. The oval handle is shaped in an ergonomic arch and covered with non-slip synthetic material to optimise user safety. The handle also features an in-laid steel logo plate featuring a design nicely tailored to match the knife’s design.
Tested for hardness
