At present the world of craft distilleries are at the height of popularity, however the boutique distillery on Tamborine Mountain still stands out as the favourite with locals and tourists alike for nearly 30 years. Established in 1993, Tamborine Mountain Distillery is the oldest Craft Distillery in Queensland.

New custodians Gordon Chalmers and Dr Shumei Hou purchased the historic business in 2017. With a plan to re-invent their new location, Gordon tell us about the process, “It involved a total renovation and facelift - we are so pleased to invite our customers back to enjoy this fantastic location – displaying a balance of new and old.”

The boutique distillery is an award-winning manufacturer of a wide range of Liqueurs and Spirits. The artisanal approach and multiple distillations, using an impressive range of natural ingredients and native botanicals, that results in smooth and unique flavours. The traditional process of using copper pot stills creates a superb range of spirits that provide the essence and foundation of all our products. Then begins the time honoured and arduous task of crafting each individual batch to perfection. Some of the traditional processes that have been passed down through generations from the founder's Russian and Ukrainian family heritage, still remain key to the production processes of the distillery today.

As a Boutique Distillery, they have won over 300 global and local awards at the most prestigious International competitions. This makes them the most awarded Australian distillery this century. The amazing aspect of Tamborine Mountain Distillery is the sheer number of products available to visitors, a range of different types of liqueurs and spirit drinks influenced from all four corners of the world. Up to 90 different products, some on a seasonal basis.
