THE BLACK & WHITE BRAID

Roads, people and stories of the Scenic Rim.

In 2019, author Benjamin Allmon and photographer Carin Garland walked 700km over 30 days around the Scenic Rim in order to produce a book, podcast, and photographic exhibition entitled, The Black & White Braid: roads, people and stories of the Scenic Rim. Together they walked through the worst drought the region has faced in a century, through country ravaged by bushfire, and through the stories of the people who call this place home.

Now, after 18 months of research, walking and listening with their hearts, the project is nearing completion. The result is nothing short of a beautiful documentation of the Scenic Rim; its breathtaking beauty, its incredibly rich history and its remarkable people.

Prints are available for pre-order, and, along with framed originals, will be available during the exhibition, which runs from Tuesday 6th April 2021 - Friday 21st May 2021, with the book launch on Saturday 10th April, at The Centre, Beaudesert.
