Shop The Shed Café

Whether you choose to take the drive via Rathdowney or the alternate route through Boonah, the loop Road that leads to the Rathlogan Shed Café is consistent in scenic splendour in all directions. The entrance to the property sees you drive through the mature olive grove, with the Café set high on the hill top, the location enjoys cool breezes and peaking views to Mount Maroon; this is one popular destination well worth the drive.

We recommend you put aside a good hour to browse the extensive range of giftware and country style goodies. Owner, Lou has taken much care to ensure her boutique shopping experience is next level. Don’t be fooled by the name, the Shed Café is so much more. It could possibly be Lou’s love of everything country or her generous vibrant nature that sees her thinking about the perfect gift. Her buying obligations are well met with her ability to find those unique hard to find items. Gifts for children, men and women of all ages plus homewares, fashion, accessories, handbags, shoes, as well as books, cards, and locally sourced items. Lou even makes her own products, the famous Rathlogan Olive Grove oils, dressings, chutneys and sauces. There is nothing this lady can’t find or make. Fresh home-made food is all created from scratch. Cakes, pies, and café staple menu items, like a big breakfast and gourmet toasties, ice creams to fresh barista coffee, not forgetting a good selection of alcoholic beverages. The Rathlogan Shed Café is the ultimate country drive just 30 minutes from Beaudesert, 25 minutes from Boonah and around 1 hour and 15 minutes from the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

LOCALS SUPPORTING LOCALS

While COVID has impacted many community events, the Community Bank Canungra continues to support local community groups. From the Rural Fire service to local fundraisers, the community bank is owned by the people for the people.

Canungra Agricultural, Horticultural & Industrial Society

Community Bank Canungra have been proud sponsors of the Canungra Show for many years now. The show is an important social event for the township and a volunteer run society that have been going for 82 Years! Much like ourselves, giving back to the community is also at the core of what they do. Over the years they have given to various initiatives such as buy a bale to help farmers near and far when the going got tough. They have also been supporting local community initiatives such as sponsoring our Canungra Muay Thai champions as they represented Canungra overseas.

The Canungra Show is an annual celebration held in August every year with the tradition of a REAL Country Show. The show displays the regions Equestrian and Agriculture diversity with the popular woodchop challenges, arts & crafts and horticultural pavilions, local artists, ute muster, sideshow alley, live music, licensed bar and ends with the popular fireworks. Great fun for the whole family.

Traction

Empowering young people in need

Traction engages local communities and serves those most in need by providing a safe, inclusive, action-based environment where vulnerable youth build self-esteem, find a sense of belonging, discover their potential and create their own future. Traction partners with referral agencies, such as schools, community organisations, child safety and youth justice agencies, to empower young people in need.

Traction’s programs benefit vulnerable young people who are experiencing a range of challenges. Social impact is demonstrated from results achieved by its participants, including improved community engagement, school attendance, behaviour, academic effort and performance at school. They also assist with securing further training, work experience and employment. Community Bank Canungra is committed to supporting young people in our local area. Our partnership with Traction helps provide access to the Traction programs available at the Beaudesert High School.
