CAMP A.T.– YOUR PASSPORT TO SUMMER FUN! .

Camp Registration Has Changed! Girls spoke – we listened. Girls want to design their own experience so this summer we have made it as easy as 1-2-3: 1. Choose the dates or theme 2. Choose horses or not 3. Complete the forms to register

To ensure the same great experience: • Girls are placed in units (sleep area) based on Girl Scout grade levels • Girls will have an opportunity to participate in program with girls in her unit and to choose activities on her own. • Combine multiple camps for a longer (funner) experience. • Campers may choose a buddy close to them in age. • Activities are adjusted for age and skill. • Every experience includes a horse ride (except “troop camp”). • Transportation is provided (except “troop camp”). • Meals are served as “all camp;” girls choose who they sit with. • Every session includes a cook out (except “family camps”). • Activities change each week based around the theme but traditional activities* are always included. • Connecting girls to others in her unit is important to camp. • Check on line for sample activities for you/your daughter’s grade level.

This new way allows every girl to be unique and design her own experience, while we adults ensure girls connect with each other, make friends, stay safe, build skills, and have fun.

* Camp Activities include riding horses, archery, hiking, arts and crafts, fencing, games, outdoor cooking, waterplay, campfires, skill building, and creating memories.

ACA ACCREDITATION We are dedicated to providing a comfortable and secure camp experience for our campers. Camp Azalea Trails is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA), which means that we follow stringent standards to ensure that camp is a safe and healthy atmosphere. We also follow guidelines set by Girl Scouts of the USA through Safety-Wise and the Riverside Health Department and abide byother applicable state and federal laws.

MAKING CAMP AFFORDABLE

The Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio believes every girl should experience Girl Scout camp and provides opportunities through the Girl Scout Product Sale Program for girls to fully pay for their experience.

Camp is an experience of a lifetime and money should not get in the way of girls having this experience. To ensure every girl can hold their spot while working on funding, girls can register with just the form and $50 deposit; final payment is due 3 weeks prior to their camp session. Some options to consider to help pay for camp: • Participate in the largest entrepreneurial program for girls (sell Girl Scout cookies/fall sale). Use troop proceeds and/or cookie/nutty dough to pay for camp. • Create a Payment Plan • Receive camp as a gift • Other money earning activities (recycling, babysitting, etc) • Apply for Financial Assistance

APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE If you are in need of a campership please make sure to complete the Campership Application, which can be accessed on our website at www.gssgc.org The Council makes every effort to assist as many girls as possible; however many of our funding sources have criteria that must be met, including the US Low-Income Guidelines. Our council is also committed to helping girls feel the sense of accomplishment from helping pay their own way. Therefore we encourage participation in the Product Sales Programs and other fundraising efforts. To learn more or sign up to participate contact ProductSales@gssgc.org. Cookie Sale is from mid-January to mid-March; if you missed this year start planning for next year. Camp Financial Assistance Applications must be sent in along with the Camp Registration Form and the $50 deposit. All applications are handled in a confidential manner. To make sure camperships can be awarded to as many girls as possible, they will be awarded for one session of camp only and applications must be complete to assist the Council in finding funders.
