More from our Limited Edition Class‌. Our Son by Julie Wilson.

I love the use of a large photo and several small ones of Peter at different stages in his childhood. The bird on the branch is an acetate overlay used with the matching cloud cardstock.

Julie has used hand drawn lines around the edges of the patterned paper.

Relax By Karen Hudson.

I have used the acetate and cardstock separated to make a larger area of embellishment .I decided to use thickers for the title and placing them in a curve worked for this page.Using a black pen around the edges of the patterned paper helped to finish this layout.

Just Me By Julie Wilson.

Pleated paper Rubons and flowers compliment this beautiful layout. The wording is chipboard covered in pattern paper.

The rest of the layouts will be in the gallery in a couple of days. You might also like: Limited Edition Two……….. Limited Edition Class Limited Edition…………

Limited Edition Two……….. As promised here are more layouts from the limited edition class in January.

Laugh By Julie .

Julie has used the threading water punch at the edge of the patterned paper and stitching around the centre piece .Gems and the Basic Grey Bling it embellishment compliment this layout perfectly.

Love By Julie Wilson

Julie has used rubon hearts and holes punched out of the cardstock to decorate this layout. Strips of patterned paper are enough to compliment the special occasion captured in the photos.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 31, 2010

Limited Edition………… We used the beautiful new Sugar Rush papers from Basic Grey for this special class. I just loved these papers and the embelishments in the kit.We managed to make lots of layouts and will show case them over the next few days.

Big Sister By Karen.

The crafters workshop template matches exactly with the acetate embelishment. Flowers ,Thickers and Rubons complete this layout.

Thats My Boy By Julie.

Julie has used Distress Inks and a distressing tool to add a more masculine feel to the layout. The small hearts are rubons.

Beautiful Altered Art Journal in progress For those of you who come into the shop you will have seen the new altered art section. There are several clases taking place this year including an Altered Art Project at the beginning of February . In March we restart the Journal Classes for both beginners and advanced. In most cases those people who come along to find out whats its all about, are worried that they wont be able to think of ideas nor paint but this is an ideal opportunity to learn different techniques to enhance your as yet undiscovered talent. If you cant paint picture we will teach you an easy way of making your Journal come alive.

Sue Cann has been coming to Altered Art Journal Classes ever since we started them 2 years ago. She has built up her skill and become a complete Journal adict. Sues' latest pages are works in progress but she brought her journal in on Saturday to give us a peek. Here they are and beautiful they are too. Remember you could be making pages just like these with a little bit of practice.

If you want to have a go at making a journal then watch out for our new classes in March. You might also like:

Snow Challenge Entries revealed I know these were supposed to go on yesterday but I am having real Google issues at the moment and have now resorted to using Karens laptop while she is at work (I have permission:) Thank you to everyone who entered. I think everyone had some fun and hopefully it filled some of that creative void that appears after days on end stuck in doors with no scrappers to chat to. Creative Cardmaking Special Edition Spring 2010 I was lucky enough to be in the shop yesterday when these new Special Editions arrived. I must admit, this is the first time I’ve been tempted to buy one but the papers are really nice. As most of you will know, I am not a card maker unless it involves stamping, so I have used these papers to make four 8” x 8” scrapbook layouts. It just goes to show that cardmaking magazines are useful to us Scrappers as well:) Hope you like them.

I’d better get on with the Challenge now:) You might also like: More from our Special Edition Kit Some People Make The World Special A bit of a break

Christmas Town Tonights 4 x 4 is by our Jeannie and is the first of two pieces that she made for this challenge. The poem reads:Jack didn’t know it, but he’d fallen down. In the middle of a place called Christmas Town.

The houses have been painted with mica powder paint which makes Jack stand out from the background. TUESDAY, JANUARY 05, 2010

Nightmare before Christmas The more I look at these little pieces of art, the more I realise how impossible it is to capture their magic on film. Once all of the 4 x 4’s have been on the Blog we will frame them and they will go on display in our newly revamped shop and you can see for yourselves just how much work has gone into each one. Today it’s Sue Canns turn with the first of 2 pieces she entered. “The moon that hung over the new-fallen snow, Cast an eerie pall over the city below And Santa Claus’s laughter now sounded like groans, And the jingle bells like chattering bones, And what to their wondering eyes should appear, But a coffin sleigh with skeleton deer”

In real life this is 3D hence the slight blurring from the scanner. Love the use of shrink plastic for the sleigh and reindeer. You might also like: On The Fifth Day Of Christmas Nightmare Before Christmas Get Well Soon

Family Christmas Book

We’ve had a sprinkling of snow overnight so I thought it was time to show the last of the three Christmas books taught in 2009. This little book was made in the “I saw mummy kissing Santa Claus Class at the beginning of December and I really enjoyed making it. There were 2 things that I liked and will definately use again. The first was using Icicle Stickles which has a thicker nozzle and, when dry, remains 3D and made great stalagtites on the front and back covers. The second was using the beautiful lace to depict icicles. The original book had12 pages. Here are just a few.

We are doing a Christmas Book in our on-line class list soon so keep checking the website. You might also like: Christmas Frame Class Wee Christmas Wonders Christmas Books

And how are we getting on????? Well I can’t possibly say however, what I will say is “That was a lot bigger job than we both thought” and Monday is going to be really busy. Still it’s looking great and thank you to everyone who has asked and wished us well. We both appreciate it. I have been pondering what to put on here this evening. Should I carry on with the 4 x 4’s or the third and final Christmas Book, and then I thought NO!!!!! I will start this year off with a layout done by one of our class members, Trish Head because this has to be one of my favourite photos of 2009. Caroline…………..Happy New Year :)

The layout idea is taken from a layout Karen did in one of our fortnightly classes, and Trish has adapted it for her layout.

Love it, love it, love it:)

It’s so bare Emptying the shop made me remember what a great task we faced when we first opened Scrapbook Sisters. Bare walls, empty space all had to be filled and arranged and I can’t believe we are doing it again. Here are a few pictures of our bare piece of paradise.

Still a New Year lies ahead and there’s loads to do before we re-open so watch this space:) Todays inspiration comes from Pam Thorburn and is one of three layouts Pam completed using Graphic 45’s Christmas Past range.

I love the mixture of old and new and the blue spoted paper bent and stapled like old wrapping paper. Scrummy.
