It's time to start my own blog Wednesday, March 24, 2010 For the last few years I have been sharing my design work for Scrapbook Sisters on our shop blog along with updates and photos which we take in the course of our fantastic times in the shop. I have decided at last to set up a blog of my own so that I can take part in some of the challenges set on the blogs both in the UK and abroad and also to show off some of my own work both past, present and future across all mediums. I hope you will enjoy your time here and that you will pop back from time to time to see what I have been up too. Heres to a long and fruitful friendship:)

I'm finding it hard......... Wednesday, April 07, 2010 to know where to start. I have so many projects which I have done in the past and have never shown so do I start afresh or do I show you some of my older stuff. Older stuff first I think. This first piece is a wooden pencil box converted and decorated to house one of my many Art Journals.

The figure is hand drawn and the girls skirt is made from Grunge Board. THe background is a mixture of acrylic paint, Distress INk Pads and Stazon. The dots are made using bubble wrap with black acrylic paint. I really enjoyed doing this and have since made two others for larger journals. One thing I did learn was that the small hinges and catches on the boxes were just to flimsy so I replaced them with stronger hardware from a DIY store.

Wall Hanging Thursday, April 08, 2010 I have always been a great fan of Paper Artsy and when I saw the stamps I just had to use them. This project was so simple to make because all I needed was 4 pieces of chipboard and a hanger. I used a heart hanger which we have in the shop. All of the decoration is done using Distress Ink Pads, gold embossing, acetate and wire. I love the colour palete and have been meaning to make another, larger one when I get time.

I think this is wow!!! Tuesday, April 13, 2010 I couldn't believe this when I saw it. Take a look. It made me smile.

What do you think?

Harry thinks he’s a bird Wednesday, April 21, 2010 I have the only cat in the world who thinks he is a bird. His latest antics found him in the bird bath in the garden and gave me a great photo opportunity. Here are just some of the photos.

Isn’t he handsome?

THe photos are getting better too I think, as I get used to my camera.

16

An introduction to Sonic Thursday, April 22, 2010 Well it was Harry yesterday so today its our Sonic. Sonic has been with us for 14 years and is admittedly one of my favourites. He is a character and even talks when you speak to him. Over the years he has had many scrapes leaving him with a limp and nearly no teeth, but he is much loved. Here he is sunning himself on the table in the garden (his favourite spot).

I have taken over 200 photos in the last 4 days so there are plenty more to come. Thanks for popping by:)

My Favourite Photos Thursday, May 06, 2010 I love Bo Bunny and when I saw the new Mama Razzi range I was smitten. This is the book I made to teach in class and I loved every minute of it.

All of the photos tell their own story and I used the space around the photos to tell each 18

one.

Little Evie has arrived Friday, August 06, 2010 and she is so sweet. As you would expect I have taken loads of photos and here are just a few.

This was just after she was born. I took loads more on our second visit but can’t find them at present. No doubt they’ll turn up:)

Harry has grown up Friday, August 06, 2010 and he is a lovely cat. I think he’s a bit fat but he’s young and the weight will come off as he plays in the garden. Harry is a bit unusual. He thinks he’s a dog and loves playing catch and hide & seek. He also has a habit of blocking the front door when he sees my bags at the bottom of the stairs. Something tells me he doesn’t want me to go out. Here is the little scamp.

New Nanny Volume One

19

The photos are coming out better since he got his summer coat, a lovely auburn colour.

I’ve never had a dog Sunday, August 08, 2010 but if I was lucky enough to get one, I would choose one just like Lily.

Lily is Karens beautiful new puppy. She has got the most silky soft ears ever and she loves being with people. Sally took the photo of me with Lily but here are a few that I took on the table in the classroom.

I’m sure I will share loads more photos of lovely Lily in the future.

I love stamping Sunday, August 08, 2010 and when we decided to do a stamping class in the shop, I had a whale of a time playing with stamps and different styles and techniques. Here are a few of the pages I did. Check out the SBS Blog to see the rest.

I followed the instructions in Craft Stamper to get the door to open but even though I tried it several times, I couldn’t get it to work properly.

22

New Nanny Volume One

I did a bit of brayering using soft colours so that anyone trying it couldn’t make a mistake. It worked I think.

The bird on this page rotates around the brad in the middle of the clock.

Theres another stamping extravaganza coming up in September. I can’t wait:)

One of my favourites Sunday, August 08, 2010 Sometimes you see something and it really makes you want to do something different. About 2 months ago Karen ordered some stamps into the shop. Unfortunately I missed out on buying the one I wanted, they went so quickly, however I did remember one of them. After being let down on some papers for our fortnightly classes, we decided to make a selection of seaside layouts using cardstock and one piece of paper. This is where my memory came in handy. I drew a picture of a lady disappearing into the sea, enlarged it and then used the pattern for paper piecing. Here is the end result.

It was great fun to do and it is certainly something I will do again. I still can’t find the other two layouts I made at the same time. No doubt they will surface at some point and I will share them with you. 24

New Nanny Volume One

Our trip to Brighton Tuesday, August 10, 2010 was fantastic fun. Sally has a great sense of humour and is up for anything that included leaning over the doughnut counter and taking photos of them as they were made. The lady making the doughnuts must have thought we were mad. They tasted scrummy though.

Then we spotted the vintage booth and had to have a go at dressing up. The colour photo has been colourised by Sally using PS. We laughed so hard it hurt.

25

While we were waiting for the photos to be printed we had fish and chips outside on the pier but for some reason we forgot to take photos. I can’t believe we were that hungry:)

26

New Nanny Volume One

Still sifting through the 400 photos we took between us. Will share some more later.

Our second Beach Day Wednesday, August 11, 2010 I still don't know which way up to post this photo. It is one of Sally's “arty” photos. She always throws me:)

And here’s my lovely husband who holds down a very demanding full time job and still finds time to come along and take part in all the silliness we arrange.

He even poses for pictures:)

We never go to spend money Monday, August 16, 2010 but we always do. Our visit to Stamperama turned out to be another fun day. None of us went to buy anything and as usual all three of us came home with a full bag. Best in show was LB Crafts as usual with some fantastic demos and new ways of using your metal and tools. What did I do when I got home? Crafting………………no accounts New Nanny Volume One

but I do have Tuesday off so am looking forward to playing most of the day. Now where did I put my………………………stamps:) Oh and this picture, taken by a kind lady at our table, of us eating hot pork rolls. They made me eat it honest.

Thanks for a lovely day Sally and Gayle. Looking forward to the next one.

I enjoyed using Prima Friday, September 03, 2010 which I must say is one of my favourite manufacturers. You never know what they will come out with next but you know it will be extra special. Here are my two layouts made for Scrapbook Sisters along with a little bit of detail. They took ages but were well worth it.

I still had some papers left afer this so I made a little book. When I get time to photograph it I;ll give you a peek. Thanks for looking. xx

Cat Woman???? Sunday, September 12, 2010 Everyone who knows anything about me knows that I love cats. I currently have four and they all have their own characters and special places in my heart. However in the last few months I have taken a shine to a few new pets and they just happen to be dogs. Firstly there was Lily, Karens new puppy and now there’s Jennys new puppy Rupert. I couldn't resist taking some pictures. Rupert is still very young but something tells me he is going to be a big dog:)

Am I a dog lady? No, but I bet it wouldn’t take a lot to make me one. The more I get to know these lovely animals the more I realise what I’m missing out on. Better start working on Hubby. He is my only obstacle now:)

Another Card Challenge Wednesday, September 15, 2010 and another card. I must say that card making to order is not my favourite pastime however I am hoping that over the coming weeks and months, that my card making skills will improve. I do try to make a normal card but the Altered Art side of me just keeps 30

New Nanny Volume One

peeping through and I have to do something different. Anyway, enough waffling. Here is the card I made for Card Challenge Number Two over at Scrapbook Sisters. Different I know, but I was please with it.

I’m working on loads of projects at the moment so hopefully I will get time to share. Thanks for looking. xx

My feet hurt Saturday, September 18, 2010 but it has been a fantastic day. Loads of tea and cake plus laughs and inspiration made for a great day at our crop today. My job this time was to take the class so I chose the 7 Gypsies Printers Tray and some scrummy 7 Gypsies papers. This was one of the easiest projects I have ever made and most of those who made it, finished although I did get told off for giving out the wrong photo sizes. Hey Ho……I will try better next time. So here is my class example…. I plan to make many more.

New Nanny Volume One

31

There are still a few finishing touches that I will make before I hang it on the wall but overall I was please with it. Time to relax now so off for another cup of tea and an hour with Michael McIntyre. Bliss‌.

Ok so time to look back Tuesday, September 21, 2010 After saying that I am not a card maker I found myself faced with a pile of cards being taken to the crop, half of which were mine. So on Monday when I was tidying up I decided to photograph a few as a record for myself. There are loads so here are just a few. Most of these were made for our card classes. Believe me, Karens are much better:)

32

New Nanny Volume One

New Nanny Volume One

33

There are more which I will share another day. Ok so I do make cards:)

Card Challenge Three Wednesday, September 22, 2010 This time the theme is “Over The Edge” and I was really struggling until I made the project for Mondays 1920’s Mini Book Class. I made the book so that the cover looked like a Coco Channel Clutch Bag. It was only when I finished that I realised I had been placing the borders over the edge and there was the idea for my card.

34

New Nanny Volume One

I really enjoyed making this. Don’t forget to make your card for the new challenge. We love seeing all of your wonderful ideas.

Eclectic Taste Thursday, September 23, 2010 I have quite an eclectic taste. Sometimes preferring cute and sometimes preferring unusual. The majority of the time I go for grungey or unusual. So you can imagine my utter delight when we got to use the new 7 Gypsies papers in our fortnightly classes. Here are the three layouts I made. BUTTERFLIES

New Nanny Volume One

35

EGG PLANT

And why did I call this layout Egg Plant. Well there were loads of eggs on the papers and I wanted to use them so I made the centre of the flower out of loads of cut out eggs. I think it worked well. PICKET FENCE

36

New Nanny Volume One

I think it will be a while before I get to use papers as lovely as this again.

1920’s Mini Book Saturday, September 25, 2010 I showed the card for the challenge, now to share the main project which I taught last week which inspired the card. I loved making this little bag.

New Nanny Volume One

37

The papers used for the book are backing papers ordered in by accident believe it or not. They turned out great. Thanks for popping by.xx

Diamonds Wednesday, September 29, 2010 are a girls best friend is the theme of challenge number four over at Scrapbook Sisters and here is my entry. As hard as I tried I could'n’t get “Some Like It Hot” out of my head so it had to be Marilyn didn’t it. The drawing was manipulated in Picassa and the diamonds form her necklace.

38

New Nanny Volume One

Make sure you enter a card. It’s a great challenge.

Christmas isn’t that far away Friday, October 01, 2010 and as there is Christmas just round the corner and loads of Christmas Card Classes still to teach. I have been busy making cards. Not all of the have to be for the festive season so I included one this time. Here are the three I made for last Wednesdays class.

New Nanny Volume One

39

Just finished three more Christmas cards for Saturdays Class. Only 30 more to go:)

This little girl Saturday, October 02, 2010 makes me smile and I love her so much.

Isn’t she lovely and growing so fast. 40

New Nanny Volume One

A few more Christmas Cards Sunday, October 03, 2010 yes I’m still ploughing through the Christmas Cards. These three were for Wednesdays Card Class. I love the Penguins so much I have made a mini book out of them. The class is on the last Monday in November and is really cute.

I loved the way the Copic Marker reacted to the Crystal Stickle. I am definitely going to experiment with this more.

New Nanny Volume One

41

I really liked the 3D effect that I got with the ball tool and soft mat. I think I will be using this technique a lot more too this Christmas.

UTEE Wednesday, October 06, 2010 I love my melting pot and I also love frames. Infact you could say I am addicted to them. Last year Wilkinsons had a frame sale and I was front of the queue on more than one day. As a result I now have enough frames to last me many years all ready for decorating. Here is one of the small frames altered with Copper Utee and stamped into whilst hot. I have no idea where I got the stamps from but they have been used more than once.

I am currently making mosaic squares using the same technique to decorate a much larger frame. Thanks for looking.

42

New Nanny Volume One

There are fairies in my lounge Thursday, October 07, 2010 and they are multiplying at an alarming rate. Here is a sneak peek at my latest work in progress which hopefully I will have time to finish very soon.

Loads more gilding and fairy dust still to be added. Watch this space.

Ice & Snow Tuesday, October 12, 2010 Every so often we make something that I really enjoy and this book was one of them. It was a joint venture with Karen making the beautiful book pages and me having the job of making the front and back covers. Together we designed the front cover on paper and then it was my job to bling it up and make it sparkly. Now you would think that I got off lightly but it was one of those projects I didn ‘t want to end and I’d still be playing now if we hadn’t had to teach the class last Saturday. You can see some pictures including the inside of the book, on the Scrapbook Sisters Blog, but here are some close ups of the front cover.

Thanks for taking the time to visit. xx

Another challenge card Thursday, October 14, 2010 The new challenge has now started at Scrapbook Sisters and this time it is “Flower Power. Here is my card which I made using stamped flowers and paper piecing. Hope you like it

Thanks for stopping by.

Card Challenge Six Wednesday, October 20, 2010 sorry I mean Card Challenge Seven and my favourite so far as I love my cats :)

44

New Nanny Volume One

For the background I punched a fish bone punch into a piece of paper and then used the hole as a mask. The cats were stamped in a row and then I stamped and cut out three more cats, coloured them in using Distress Ink and a waterbrush, and then decoupaged them onto my original stamped image. Simples:)

Off to work on my new Digi Stamps. Thanks for looking.

Phew……………………….. Wednesday, November 03, 2010 So busy this week that incorporated my DT card in with one of the cards for this mornings card class. The flowers took a while to cut out but it was worth it, and the thin strips of gold through the middle of the card were made using Glamour card which is newly arrived in the shop and cuts superbly.

A little bit of crystal stickles finished it off and it turned out really well. Craft table here I come. I foresee another late night. Thanks for looking. New Nanny Volume One

When Autumn Arrives Monday, November 08, 2010 it’s time to start writing about Summer and it was great to get away from the glitter for a while. The Travel Book class is the last of the summer projects at Scrapbook Sisters and to be honest, it was a struggle to find papers to use, but as usual Bo Bunny came up trumps. These lovely papers were great for all destinations and I chose to start a long overdue project – our honeymoon in Hong Kong, Bali and Singapore. I only managed to get as far as Hong Kong but I’m sure I’ll add pages later on. Here are just a few of the pages.

Our Evie is growing Thursday, November 25, 2010 so fast that it’s hard to keep up. Being so far away is hard but we keep in touch as much as we can. I took loads of photos on our last visit and they can out really well. Here are a few which I thought came out well.

New Nanny Volume One

47

48

New Nanny Volume One

I must admit that this is my favourite. I love the way Evie is laughing. Can’t wait to see her again at Christmas.

Snow, Snow go away Thursday, December 02, 2010 It’s good in small doses but I’m fed up with it now. Loads of classes cancelled and it’s still coming down. We had 7 inches overnight and the snow is now so deep that Harry disappeared as he went out the door this morning. I think it frightened him to death but he soon regained his cool and did a sort of waddle thing across the lawn. It made me laugh.

And it’s still snowing hard down here.

Terry measured 7 inches of snow on the garden table and there’s no signs of it letting up yet.

New Nanny Volume One

49

Still, plenty of time to craft and catch up with the housework and get over this rotten cold and I am still living in hope that I can catch a glimpse of a gritting lorry before this snow ends. Make sure you wrap up warm and keep safe. xx

I love snow Tuesday, December 07, 2010 but like everyone else, only in moderation. That's why it was so funny last Monday when everyone turned up to make the Penguin Book. A few people commented on how they didn’t really have any snow photos but the wise ones kept quiet. You should have see the smiles when I received a phone call from the daughter of one of my ladies saying “tell mum to come how now. It’s snowing”. It was only when I looked out of the window into the dark that I realised just how hard it was snowing. Well, we all carried on for a while but in the end the thick snow made us pack up and go home. So here are just a few photos of the project.

I wonder if any of the class managed to take any snow pictures for their book

A work in progress Sunday, December 19, 2010 I love any form of art and craft but my absolute favourite is quiet time spent working on my Art Journal. Most of the pages I have done in this book have been used to teach however some are just for my own experiments. When I have time to myself, and that isn’t very often, you can find me doodling or just loosing myself in my art. Here are a few of the pages I have done for classes so far. Some aren’t finished and others are works in progress but they are all my own work.

Don’t forget, if you want to have a go to see if you like this form of art then I run a class once a month called “Altered Art Journal”. You don’t have to be arty or able to draw but I will show you loads of tips and techniques to get your own journal started. Thanks for looking.

Baby's First Christmas Tuesday, December 28, 2010 and we were lucky enough to be there. Lovely Evie is growing up so fast and we get to see her so rarely that every visit is a treat but it was extra special this time, to see her on her very first Christmas. As you can imagine, I took loads of photos and here are just a few of my favourites.

Look at Evies surprise when she saw the size of her present from Nanny & Granddad.

But she soon managed to tear off (and eat) the paper.

Isn’t it funny that boxes always taste so nice…..

And wrapping paper is just designed for dressing up in….

I think my photos are getting better thanks to lots of tips from Sally. I’m certainly enjoying taking them. I must admit I missed spending Christmas with Pete, mum, dad and little sis this year but I was with them in spirit. Baileys actually

Loving Family Scrapping Friday, January 21, 2011 I love all my classes but my favourite has got to be Scrapping Your Family at the moment. I have really enjoyed looking at all the many photos I have. Here are just a few of the most recent layouts. WINTER

Tic Tock Tuesday, February 08, 2011 I don’t like showing previews of classes before they take place for many reasons but also because it gives me time to play around with the final project, right up until the very last minute. Tic Tock was a great example of this. Over the course of three weeks it not only changed shape but also changed colour. Here are a few photos of the finished piece used in the class. I had a great evening. Thank you to everyone who came along.

Card Class Wednesday, March 02, 2011 It’s so busy over on the Scrapbook Sisters blog at the minute that I thought I’d post todays card class cards on here. There were four cards, all made in class by 12 very able ladies.

I am entering this card for the following challenges: Craft Your Passion Challenge - Anything Goes Wild Orchid Challenge - Anything Goes

Don’t forget to enter the new Card Challenge “Spring” and the very first Scrapbook Challenge “Framed” over on the Scrapbook Sisters Blog.

Even Angels Will Fall‌. Tuesday, April 05, 2011 was the title I used for this plaque, number three in the series of 6. I really enjoyed putting the soft colours together and, although they made me sneeze for ages, I enjoyed adding the fine feathers.

We all enjoyed using Tim Holtz new Distress Stains. This time I used Weathered Wood.

The slipped halo on her foot was the finishing touch.

70

New Nanny Volume One

Each of the panels was heat embossed using clear embossing powder as a resist and the coloured using three Distress Ink Pads to get the right colour.

Next months class is called “Life is a cabaret” and will be based around Paris nightlife. Don’t forget to book a place. It’s good fun and you will learn different things in every class. See you there.

Yellow Wednesday, April 06, 2011 Not my favourite colour and it certainly doesn’t suit me but it just happens to be this weeks challenge over on the Scrapbook Sisters Blog. Here is my entry this week. Not all yellow but as much as I could bear. Hope you like it.

Spring has sprung Sunday, April 10, 2011 I have been so busy over the winter, that I have completely forgotten to take photos of anything other than classes. When I woke up this morning the sun was shining, the birds were singing and so I decided to get up. After much cleaning, hanging the washing out, tidying away and feeding of the many cats I have, I glanced at the clock and it was 9am. I still don’t know what time I actually got out of bed but it must have been early. Anyway, while hanging out the washing I noticed my long neglected garden and decided to take some before photos. The after photos will be taken in a few months time when my garden looks as beautiful as it once used to. This is my summer resolution

And Bonny just ignoring me as usual, however she is an old lady of 14 so she’s entitled.

There’s loads of work to do. Lets hope the sun keeps shinning.

One of my favourites Sunday, April 17, 2011 Scrapping Your Family has become so popular that I now hold two classes each month. This Saturday was the repeat so now I can share the layouts. As with each of these classes we make two layouts and they are all different. The idea being that we can put together a lovely family album for our family to treasure. Great Grandad

Dad

The papers, when I started, were really plain but with a bit of stamping, masking and punching I found it really easy to make some interesting changes. For those of you who came to the first Class you will notice that I have changed the punching on the DAD layout. Unfortunately this was necessary because the punch broke

I so enjoyed this one Saturday, April 23, 2011 Sometimes a certain project speaks to you and that's exactly how I felt when these boxes arrived. I know immediately what I wanted to do and I think it went down quite well at the Flower Extravaganza today. Here are just a few photos of the box itself. Karen did some pretty flower pages inside to showcase the flowers we made and you should be able to see them on her blog soon.

Scrapping Your Family Wednesday, May 25, 2011 I know that loads of you like to either see the photos of the Scrapping Your Family class layouts to finish off what you started in class or just to copy for your family albums. This is one of my favourite classes and it is really popular. If you would like to come to a scrapbooking class but can’t come on a Saturday, I do hold a 8 x 8 Memory page class one Thursday in every month where we make smaller scrapbook pages to record your family photos and memories. This is a great class for a beginner as well as experienced scrappers just looking for inspiration. You can book a class in June HERE.

I’ve had a lovely break Monday, May 30, 2011 and spent some quality time with hubby, the kids and my grandchildren. Little Evie is growing up so fast and nearly walking on her own. I’ve been playing again Sunday, June 26, 2011 and this time it was for the yesterdays Tim Holtz Class. I am slowly being influenced by Steam Punk and all of the wonderful things it entails. Although this piece is not strictly Steam Punk, it is almost there however I didn’t want to frighten anyone off before the class started so I toned it down a bit. I do love the way it turned out and I still have some great ideas for the up and coming Tim Holtz Product Days (check out the website if you want to book a place on our October Class).

One thin g I always try to make everyone understand, is that anyone can do this. The hardest thing is letting go and thinking outside of your normal crafting restraints. It sounds scary but it’s really not and the results from all of these classes show just how great your projects can be. Ask the ladies who have made their own beautiful creations. Thanks for stopping by xx

98

New Nanny Volume One

Oh and here are the little fellows he loves so much.

I don’t think he likes the taste though. Yuk!!!

Sometimes you just fall in love Sunday, July 17, 2011 with a range of papers and no matter how many times you use them, they still call to you for more. This happened with Echo Parks “For The Record range. Love them to bits. Here are 3 layouts I made for the fortnightly classes.

New Nanny Volume One

99

With this design you need to cut the green paper first to measure 10 x 7 and then, depending on the size of the photo you use, cut three pieces of different papers to fit as shown in the picture.

The Walk

100

New Nanny Volume One

I loved the “Stamp Of Approval” paper in this kit but it was too easy to just decorate the page, so I cut around the stamped edge making a square in the middle, which I then turned over and stuck into place using masking tape. This gave me a red centre and a black border. The flowers were cut from “Table Cloth” and the butterflies we stamped onto the same paper and cut out. In this way all of the pieces colour matched. SMILE

This was an easy layout to do because the picture was so good. Who can resist a smiling baby. Anyway this one was straight forward. The only bit which took some time to make was the square in the bottom right of the layout. For this I took the 6” x 6” blue square from “Picket Fence” and cut it into random strips. Next I stuck the pieces onto “Tuxedo Small Dot” paper (part of the new Dots and Stripes range)leaving a small gap between each strip. When finished, cut around the square leaving a small border. Use a fine pen to make panel marks on a few of the panels. The rest is simple.

New Nanny Volume One

101

You can see more layouts using more of the range HERE. Thank you for looking. xx

Key Holder Thursday, July 28, 2011 At the last crop I altered a keyholder and made three books and two key rings to go inside, for the class. I think everyone had a good time. The idea behind the project was a country garden so leaves and flowers were a must.

A good afternoon Saturday, July 30, 2011 For the very first time I managed to get away from the shop this afternoon and visit dad and mum at the Fuchsia and pelargonium Societies 25th Anniversary Show at the local school. Summer cards to share Tuesday, August 02, 2011 Here are two cards that I made for the last card class. Both very different, which can be used as Thank You or Birthday Cards. The Hedgehog

108

I love the Candi dots and use them on both cards and Scrapbook pages. They come in loads of different colours and we usually have a good selection in the shop. I am entering this card for: Anything Goes - Come and Get It Challenges A Is For Auburn - The ABC Challenge Put A Critter On It - Little Red Wagon Paws For Thought - Stampin' For the Weekend Happy Birthday

Yes a dreaded peel off but over the years I have grown to live with them. They have their place in our crafting world and sometimes they can be stunning. Karen is particularly inventive with the silhouette variety.

Mini Projects are never easy…… Saturday, August 06, 2011 Well I thought they would be, but if you’ve ever played with Tim Holtz products and ideas then you’ll know it’s really difficult to stop. So where do you draw the line and how much could I possibly fit into a three hour class without exhausting everybody. This is what I came up with.

There were lots of smaller bits to make and a background to stamp but other than that it was just playtime. Surprisingly, everyone came up with their own way of laying out the finished project and it was fantastic to see all of the different colours and ideas as the afternoon progressed. Here are a few snapshots of the class with works in progress.

Lost & Found Thursday, August 25, 2011 No cats involved this time just the name of the lovely MME papers we used in the last set of fortnightly classes.

This is an ideal layout for a wedding picture, prom gown or just a dressing up picture. Although my mum and my nan both spent a lot of their lives sewing, I don’t have one picture of them actually sewing. I really wish I had, had a digital camera back then.

118

New Nanny Volume One

The scissors and the sewing machine are stamped and cut out to make the embellishments.

I used the cut off edge on the paper as a template to cut out the spotty pink paper piece. The second layout was more complicated but only because it involved lots of flower cutting.

You’ve got to smile…. Saturday, August 27, 2011 Sometimes you see something and think WOW and that’s exactly how I felt when I bought the August 2011 issue of Craft Stamper and saw the great Delicate Folds project by Debbie Dolphin. In the magazine Debbie made a special card but after seeing it I just had to turn it into a book, so I added large quantities of chipboard, Distress Inks, Crackle Paint and Embellishments and made this for Saturdays Mini Project Class.

120

New Nanny Volume One

Despite the clear instructions, we all found putting the concertina pages, really tricky but it was well worth persevering. Thanks for coming ladies and watch out for the Witching Hour Class in October using Tim Holtz Dies and loads of other stuff. No dressing up required.

Salisbury Cathedral Tuesday, August 30, 2011 If you’re looking for somewhere to go this week for something different then take a trip to Salisbury Cathedral. In the grounds and inside the Cathedral there is a fantastic exhibition by Sean Henry. The sculpture is set out to be interactive so you are allowed to touch and feel, although we are so used to everything being behind ropes that it was quite funny watching people touch these statues..

122

The sculptures are amazing and range from tiny to huge. Make sure you look everywhere for them as some of them are hidden. Thanks for looking xx

My 2011 Christmas Cards Monday, January 02, 2012 Despite all of my resolutions I still find that after teaching all year, I am too busy to make my own cards. In 2011 I was determined to get down to making cards early. Did I? No but I did manage to make two cards, one for mum and dad and one for Karen.

Just to prove I made two.

126

This year I AM going to make all my own. Think I’d better start making cards now.

Love that Terminology Tissue Wrap Sunday, January 22, 2012 This is the first time I have used it in classes and it is a fantastic product. Combine it with Glue N Seal and it is amazing. It comes by the roll and tears really easily to make the strips that we needed to cover frames. The Glue n seal was not too sticky so we had time to play around a bit before it dried and the this I liked the most was that the tissue will take on the colour you lay it onto so in this case I used an undercoat of white matt acrylic but you could use any colour and get a great effect. The added bonus is that even when wet the tissue still holds together well and does not fall apart like normal tissue would. A thin layer of the Glue n Seal over the top and voila!!! ready to embellish and hang on your wall. This is the finished project.

You can see how good the tissue looks in this next photo 128

Have made another one of these in different colours which I will share later in the year. You can see more photos of the project and the class HERE. Thanks for looking xx

I’ve been having a sort out Monday, January 30, 2012 and I’ve found loads of “Works in progress” so I though I’d share a few. Inchies, when I’m not working or planning classes (or trying to sell our house), are my passions. Here are some I made earlier.

Introducing Monday, March 26, 2012 Timmy “The Dude” Wilson only 9 weeks old and so very cute. Why The Dude you ask? Well someone in their wisdom at the Cat Protection League decided to name him that and now I can’t get it out of my head. Quite rightly, hubby said he refused to stand at the front door and call “Dude” so we had to give him a human friendly name. Hence Timmy. It’s his first day in his new home today so he is still finding his feet. Harry is not too sure but in time I’m sure they will be the best of friends. I think I am in for a few fun nights ahead.

On the wall Saturday, April 07, 2012 For ages I have been trying to put some of my work on the walls but I have never found an idea I liked. That all changed today when I made this for a Stamping class. I can see this being one of my favourite projects. I chose a lime green piece of paper and a lily white cardstock, lime green ribbon, cream seam binding and white lace, and came up with this.

Watch this space. I am going to have a go at another one this weekend. Thanks for looking. xxx

A great Easter Sunday, April 08, 2012 The best way to spend Easter is with family. Thankfully Karen was cooking Easter dinner. If it had been my turn we would have had salad due to a rotten cold. (Great timing as usual) Still beechams powders came to the rescue for a few hours which was just time to enjoy some family time and eat a really large and scrummy dinner. I am still doing the 365 photo challenge so here are a few photos from the day starting at home with that cake.

I had a fantastic day out Saturday, April 28, 2012 This was my very early Birthday present and something I wanted to do as soon as I saw it advertised. I have been an avid Harry Potter fan since the books first came out and I still like watching the films from start to finish, so when the new Harry Potter experience opened in Leavesdon near Watford, I was on the website booking tickets straight away. To be honest, you don’t have to be a Harry Potter fan to enjoy a day here as my Terry found out. There is plenty to do and you can take as many photos as you want, a refreshing change. Here are a few snaps of the day from the 1080 photos I took.

A First Birthday Card Saturday, May 05, 2012 for our pretty Charlotte on her first birthday. I don’t usually make cards, not because I don’t want to but because I never seem to have enough time. Last month however I had made a scrapbook page using a dress template and it was just perfect for Charlottes card. I reduced the template to card size and made this

All of the papers were from one of the Tim Holtz pads left over from a class. I was really pleased with the way it turned out. I’d better start making a card for our Evie. Can’t do one without the other.xx

My first challenge layout Thursday, May 10, 2012 A few weeks ago I was chosen by Southern Girls Challenge to be one of their 2012 Design Team. My first theme was About the boys and as a scrapbooker I could do anything. Instead I plummed for a great Digi stamp kindly provided by one of the 148

sponsors Delicious Doodles and made this layout. The photos were taken on Greatstone beach in 2010 and were just right for the page.

I had great fun doing it. Thanks for looking. xx

I love simple cards Thursday, May 17, 2012 and this weeks card challenge at Scrapbook Sisters was a great chance to use one of my small journaling stamps

Anything Goes Wednesday, May 30, 2012 It’s Anything Goes over on the Scrapbook Sisters Blog and this week I’ve decided to use a Journal page as my DT example. This is my favourite thing, and what I tend to do if I have any me time which isn’t very often now a days.

This is another example of a work in progress

And this one has been waiting to be finished for ages, I just don’t seem to have the right words to put on it.

Thanks for looking. xxx

Rain, Rain go away Sunday, June 03, 2012 well it didn’t and I got very wet but it was well worth it. I love going to London and there is never enough time to go everywhere and do everything but I managed to cram in loads today. Here are a few of todays candid shots.

And I can’t believe I met up with Ann and Sue on the train. 1,000,000 people in London today and we bumped into each other…………..PRICELESS. Thanks for looking. xxx

Thinks With Wings Thursday, June 07, 2012 I love some of the Digi Images from Delicious Doodles and I chose the “Daisies and Butterflies” for this weeks challenge over on Southern Girls Challenge Blog.

New Nanny Volume One

151

I actually printed off the image twice on A4 paper, cut one out for the background and then the second one I used to colour with Pro-Markers and decoupage to make a 3d image.

I used a very fine black pen to make the butterfly bodies look hairy and then applied Glossy Accents to make the butterfly bodies raised and to give them a shine.

Thanks for looking. xxx

I need some sun Sunday, June 24, 2012 So it seemed right to use summer papers for our fortnightly classes. These papers by Echo Park are beautiful and really usable.

When I taught the class everyone kept asking me to pronounce this place but I couldn’t. Lets just say it probably stands for beautiful because the place certainly was. Thanks for looking. Hugs xx

A new era and a new Scrapbook Challenge Sunday, July 01, 2012 With the announcement of the closure of our lovely shop yesterday, I was feeling a bit down and as you can see from the time of this post, I can’t sleep, so what better way to start off a new day then to announce our next Scrapbook Challenge. Our theme this time is Spring or Summer and you can enter your layout HERE. Here are the two I have put up as examples.

Don’t forget to pop across to the Scrapbook Sisters Blog and have a go.

A New Challenge Wednesday, July 04, 2012 The new challenge is now on Southern Girls Challenge Blog and this time the theme is‌‌.Pearls Here is my example for the DT

Thanks for looking. xxx

Something to share Sunday, July 15, 2012 Those of you who know me know that cards are really not my thing. I struggle for ideas and surprisingly I can make a Scrapbook page quicker than I can make a card. Here is one I made for card class last week. New Nanny Volume One

155

I bought this stamp at Stamperama and it has quickly become one of my favourites. Every time I see it i thing “Silly old bear” as it reminds me of one of the Winnie the Pooh sketches. Thanks for looking. xx

Another Card Challenge Wednesday, July 18, 2012 I can’t believe this is the 92nd Card Challenge at Scrapbook Sisters. That means, even allowing for the few I haven’t had time to do, that I’ve made about 70 cards since it started. This fortnights challenge is Clocks and I could only think of one famous clock and thats Big Ben. So here is my entry this time.

The flags are from a Penny Black set and I think Big Ben was a Papermania Stamp. I loved its simplicity, something I’m really into at the moment.

Thanks for looking and don’t forget to hop across to Scrapbook Sisters Blog and enter your card. Hugs xx

Early Morning Friday, July 20, 2012 I don’t usually get up before my husband if I can help it but this morning I heard the alarm at 6am and actually got out of bed. It’s funny what a gold torch does to you.

There were loads of people, old and young, lining the route.Flags flying and whistles and drums and a fantastic parade. It was so nice to see everyone smiling and enjoying the event. Thanks to Sally who got me there and great to see Ann, Jeannie and Martin there too. I have uploaded more pictures on Facebook. What a great start to a busy day. Have a good one wherever you are. xx

This little boy is growing up Wednesday, July 25, 2012 Well Timmy is not little anymore and he’s becoming a real handful. Apart from the fact that he eats ANYTHING, he also thinks he’s a dog and plays catch and fetch. His latest think is to steal from my craft bag. It doesn’t matter what it is, Stickles, cut n dry, pens and he always takes them outside and leaves them all over the lawn.

157

He’s a handful but I love him and it’s so nice to see him getting on with his brother. Thanks for looking xxx

Thank You Wednesday, August 15, 2012 That's the theme for Card Challenge 94 over on the Scrapbook Sisters Blog and here is my entry. I love this stamp as there are so many ways to use it.

Hello all Friday, August 17, 2012 After a whole year my stint on the Scrapbook Sisters Blog has now come to an end and I leave it with happy memories and a 910 following so thank you to everyone who took the time to pop across and have a look. I can’t bear to be without making a post a day so I thought I’d start posting here. These are from one of the last classes I taught at Scrapbook Sisters and I must say that everyone had a great time.

New Nanny Volume One

159

As requested by everyone at the Scrapping Your Family Class last week, I will be making kits for these so watch this space, and there are six more Scrapbooking Kits coming out real soon. The last Mini Book Class was also a blast although there were some deep and meaningful sighs when everybody realised how much cutting needed to be done. I took the idea from an online class we did a while ago but used different shapes. Here are a few photos of the pages.

160

New Nanny Volume One

I know it was hard work but the books all looked great when they were finished. Don’t forget to follow this blog as I will be posting loads of the past projects on here over the coming weeks. Thanks for looking. Hugs xx

Take a look at this Saturday, August 18, 2012 Chris Neal has been playing with Gayle's new Digi Stamps and made some lovely cards.

You can see more of Chris’s cards on her blog HERE. Beautiful xx

Well that was HOT Saturday, August 18, 2012 24 degrees when we started and 32 degrees when we finished but what a lovely class. Some time ago I spotted a project by Nicole Eccles over on the Graphic 45 Blog. You can see the original project and instructions HERE. Now obviously I didn’t have the box that she used so I sat down with Sally West and together we designed the same project but based around a hinged box with a book in it. Here are a few photos of the day

And of course, with it being so busy and hot, hot, hot, I forgot to photograph the projects so I will do that tomorrow. Thank you once again for a lovely day and for the flowers and huge amount of cakes. It is very much appreciated. Love to all xxxx

Baby News Friday, August 24, 2012 Hi everyone I know some of you have asked me about Kerry who came to the Monday and Thursday morning Scrapbooking classes. Kerry gave birth to a little girl 13 days late on 2nd August and she has called her Esme. Mummy and baby are doing well. Lots of love from all of us Kerry. Hope to see you soon. xx

A Lovely finished project Sunday, August 26, 2012 For the last fortnightly classes at SBS I decided to teach one of my favourite classes, the Secret Letter Box. Everyone made a box but not everyone did their stamping so it was lovely to see Jannines finished box.

If you receive any facebook posts from me after 25th August please delete as it will not be from me. If you need to contact me please e-mail ladiesthatcraft@live.co.uk Many thanks Julie xxx

The last Limited Edition Wednesday, August 29, 2012 but a completely new paper company and one of my favourite sets of layouts from 2012. In the class we made 4 layouts and a mini book. I found the papers really easy to use. Cornwall

The pleated paper was first put through a border punch before folding. A hole was then punched through all of the concertina using a Big Bite and the ribbon threaded through before adding to the page.

New Nanny Volume One

167

The butterflies were cut out from one of the papers in the kit using the Tim Holtz Butterfly on the edge die.

The doily was also cut out using another Tim Holtz on the edge die. More tomorrow xx.

Another layout to share Thursday, August 30, 2012 Ok so this was layout two made using the same papers as were used in yesterdays post. KITTY

168

New Nanny Volume One

I love paper bows and this lovely large bow was made in 4 parts,

The small half banners were taken from a card idea I saw a few weeks before the class.

Number 3 and 4 layouts tomorrow. xx

Layouts 3 and 4 Saturday, September 01, 2012 These are the last two of the four layouts from the last Special Edition class. BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS

Don’t you just love the leaf swirl Memory Box Die.

170

New Nanny Volume One

and the little flowers were punched out using the Woodware multi flower punch.mini book in the afternoon. And the last one was a really simple one as we still had to make a mini book.

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at these. I will start adding some of the many Scrapping Your Family layouts next. xx

A bit of fun Sunday, September 02, 2012 Now I promised one of my Scrapping Your Family classes a beach layout but when the papers arrived I realised I couldn't make anything beachy out of them. What to do? Well luckily mum and dad were away for a weeks holiday and as always, they sent a postcard. When it arrived on the Friday morning I beamed. There in front of me was my scrapbook page. The picture was a drawing of four people sitting in deck chairs and facing the sea. I scanned the postcard, enlarged it and hey presto I had my template for the layout.

New Nanny Volume One

171

On the postcard they were all wearing hats but I just used a circle punch to create hair.

The background was made using Stormy Sky and Scattered Straw Distress Ink pads and a hand torn piece of paper for the sand.

It was a bit of fun but I loved making it. Do you remember the layout I made in class three years ago using a fat lady in a bathing costume, diving through a rubber ring. That was fun too. I’ll see if I can dig out the layout and photograph it again. 172

New Nanny Volume One

Thanks for looking. xx

Another set of layouts Wednesday, September 05, 2012 and everyone fell in love with the wellies and the girls with umbrellas.

In this layout the girl with the umbrella was cut out of the stripy paper and then put onto the pink paper.

and the wellies were stamped onto pink paper and then cut out.

New Nanny Volume One

173

Some of you bought the kit for this at the last Scrapping Your Family Class. If you were one of those who did, please e-mail me at ladiesthatcraft@live.co.uk and I will get the instructions over to you upon my return from holiday. More tomorrow. Thanks for looking xx

More umbrellas Thursday, September 06, 2012 The Rain in Spain

this time I used paper piecing to make the girl with the umbrella

174

New Nanny Volume One

And I made the button using a small circle punch and some distress ink. Putting them on sticky foam pads also made them appear more real. And to finish off today, as this is the last posting until 17th September, here is the third and final layout of the set.

The dangly circles were made using two different circle punches.

Each of the circles were folded in half and stuck down with glue on the fold only. This gave them a 3d look. New Nanny Volume One

175

Fantastic to see so many of you at Glow today. Looking forward to sending out the letters upon my return. Have a great week. xxx

A lovely finished project Saturday, September 15, 2012 As the shop came to a close some of you brought in a finished project or two. The one I am sharing today was Janine's Secret letter Box from the very last fortnightly class I taught.

176

and I loved these Prima papers and of course, the instant photo setting in Picasa.

Have a great day tomorrow. xx

I’ve found a few more layouts Monday, November 12, 2012 Yes I’m still sorting and come across so layouts from 2010/2011. I’ve got a rotten cold at the minute so I’ve just been sitting on the sofa looking through the old albums. I reckon I will need about 10 more before I’m finished. I can’t believe how many pages I have made. This one was from a Scrapping Your Family class and one of my favourites. I used a stormy sky Distress Ink to colour the background which is done on the reverse of a piece of yucky green and yellow embossed paper.

188

New Nanny Volume One

It just shows you, you shouldn’t throw anything away even paper you don’t think you’ll ever use. This next one was also from a SYF class

It was a great way to showcase some picture of my mum and dad when they were young. The frame was die cut and coloured with a gold pen. Lastly tonight is a paper I fell in love with but was so busy that I only needed to add a few embellishments to complete it. I decided on a stamped flower coloured using a Mustard Seed Distress Ink Pad. The photo is of my Auntie Valerie as a young girl.

New Nanny Volume One

I have added a few more pages to the 8 x 8 blog and will continue to put more layouts on here as I find them. Thanks for looking. xx

Happy Birthday Mum Wednesday, November 14, 2012 Yes mum has a birthday today and a few years back I made a layout for my Family Album to celebrate using four photos from different times.

Luckily I still have another sheet of the background paper and four new photos so I will make this into a double. Happy Birthday Mum. Have a fantastic day. Love you xxx

Merry Christmas Tuesday, December 25, 2012 It’s been a roller coaster of a year but at last Christmas is here and a New Year is in sight. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE XXX

Two Books to share Friday, December 28, 2012 I am still sorting boxes and have just come across two of the Snow Books made a few years back. I love the way they still sparkle after all this time and surprisingly they still look like new. Here is the first one using the Ice Skates

New Nanny Volume One

201

The front cover was made using a shadow frame and as you can see, I used loads of Glamour Dust to make it “BLING”

The boots were even laced with silver thread.

And the snow flakes and lettering were embossed to make them stand out. I’ll share another one tomorrow. Hugs xxx

Penguins Saturday, December 29, 2012 Book two had to involve Penguins and Polar Bears, after all it is all about snow. This time I used a similar technique to yesterdays front cover

however this time I added another dimension by including a larger image (the penguin) on the front of the book.

And I kept the inside of the book simple to show off the photos.

New Nanny Volume One

203

I fell in love with this technique all over again when I found the books so tomorrow I will be working on a 2013 version which you will be able to buy as a kit. After all, I’m sure we will get snow early next year and you’ll need somewhere to put all of your photos. Have a great evening. Hugs xxx

A New Release for the New year Sunday, December 30, 2012 At the beginning of this year I was approached by the Art and Craft Academy to make some programmes for them. Yesterday I got a massive surprise when I received copies of the first 4 DVD’s going on sale soon.

The DVD’s cover Making Wedding Invitations (double DVD), Card Making (Double DVD) with karen as Creative Editor, Stamping and Punching (Single DVD), and An Introduction to Scrapbooking (Single DVD) with Karen as Creative Editor. There will also be a few more titles added this year so keep checking back for more details. At present you will be able to buy them on Amazon. A great start to 2013 Hugs xx

Scrapping Your Family Saturday, January 05, 2013 Another great morning. Thank you to the ladies that made me laugh, for the shared chocolate orange and the sheer dogged determination to complete the Pop Up layout Here is the first layout ready for 2013

204

which included a pop up secret compartment behind the photo with plenty of room to add New Years Resolutions.

And the second using the diamonds on the paper to make the flowers and embellishments.

Ladies that craft members who attended the class can get access to instructions and pictures on the Members website as usual. New Nanny Volume One

There will be no kits available for this class as they have already sold out however if you would like to make them I will be launching an instruction only kit which will be available soon so keep checking back. Have a great weekend. Hugs Julie xx

First cards of 2013 Sunday, January 13, 2013 I made four cards for this first class of 2013, all with a general theme and including a popup card which could be used for Valentines Day.

Members can now see all of the cards in detail on the Ladies That Craft site. Don’t forget there are loads of classes and kits to buy HERE and you can come along as a non member for the first few classes. If you want to become a Lifetime Member of the Ladies That Craft club you can do so HERE. The Membership pays for your access to the Club Members only Blog and access to any free classes released into the virtual classroom. You will also be able to see the Gallery and be able to comment, add photos and ask questions to all of the members plus see other people finished work, PLUS you get a 50p discount on each class (so for example Members would pay £10 for a Scrapbooking Class and Non Members/ Guests pay £10.50 and the same applies to kits and online classes so you can get your money back really quickly). From 1st February you will be able to buy access to each online class without purchasing a kit which means you can follow the step by step instructions but use your own papers and embellishments. This means that you can take part in classes wherever in the world you live. If you have any questions please e-mail me at ladiesthatcraft@live.co.uk and I will happy to help. Have a great week Julie xx

(Love chocolate), still between us we managed to eat a fair few. In this class I designed a book with space inside for drop down tags using canvas. Here are some of the works in progress.

Thank you for sharing. xx

Spotlight on Chris Neal Wednesday, March 27, 2013 At last nights class some of you shared your layouts and other projects. Today I am featuring the work of Chris Neal who has a style of her own.

218

New Nanny Volume One

I loved the sewing on this one and the use of the little birds on a wire.

Chris’ second layout was lovely too.

Chris lost the original flowers we used in class so she made some of her own. New Nanny Volume One

Thank you for sharing Chris. Tomorrow I will showcase more of the lovely projects shared. Enjoy the sunshine xx

It’s been a great day Saturday, April 13, 2013 and everyone has worked really hard to finish their projects. I was inspired by the beautiful paper pad I received from Heartfelt Creations to make a floral project. I used the Heartfelt Creations Hydrangea/ Posy Branch Stamp set and a variety of other dies 226

New Nanny Volume One

The little perfume bottle was made during the day while we were waiting for the paint to dry. If you would like to have a go at making something different then sign up for the next Creativity 101 Class on 28th September and you can book it HERE. On a different note, I have been selected as a semi-finalist in the DT competition over at Heartfelt Creations so if you get a chance click HERE and have a look at all of the semi finalists. Finally here is the link I promised for buying WASHI TAPE. Have a great weekend. Hugs xxx

Lots of flowers Tuesday, April 16, 2013 Sometimes when I am making cards for a Card Class I get engrossed and before you know it I have a theme going. Last Thursday was no exception as nearly all of the cards features flowers. There was lots of stamping and colouring this time but it gave everyone the chance to brush up on their colouring skills. Here are the four cards taught on the day.

New Nanny Volume One

227

Card One – Made with the Heartfelt Creations Stamp

Card Two – Made using a Magenta Stamp I have had for ages but is a favourite of mine.

Card Three using an unusual backing paper and a stamp with no name on it – sorry.

228

New Nanny Volume One

Card Four – made using the Karen Burniston Dies and the free stamps by Jayne Nestorenko from the front of a magazine.

The card classes get booked fairly quickly so if you would like to come along and make some cards click HERE to book your place. Hope to see you in class soon. x

Another layout finished Thursday, April 25, 2013 There were three layouts to copy at Saturdays Scrapping Your Family Class. The black space to the right of the photo is for white journaling however I wanted to keep that for the family album and will write that in later. I’m still addicted to Washi tape as you can see by the dotty borders.

For those of you who came to class I will have the class instructions and pictures of the other layouts on the ladies That Craft website tomorrow. Have a great day xx

A simple layout Wednesday, May 01, 2013 I got to the semi finals of the Heartfelt Creations Contest and had to make two layouts for the final. I wanted to use their stamps and dies as simply as possible. Here is the first made using one of their paper pads, stamp sets and coordinating flower dies.

230

New Nanny Volume One

I loved the flower dies and the stamps that coordinated with them.

If you like this you can also make this same layout using plain black cardstock. The result will look like this.

New Nanny Volume One

231

Congratulations to the final 10 who got into the Design Team. You are a bunch of talented ladies. I will post the second of my layouts tomorrow. Have a great evening. x

Free Scrapbook Layout Thursday, May 02, 2013 As promised yesterday here is my second layout. This is now a free class to members of the Ladies That Craft club, just click the green button on the left to see all of the step by step instructions and pictures.

New Nanny Volume One

Tomorrow I will share the mini book made with the same papers which was my third and final entry. Have a great day in the sunshine xx

Mini Book Friday, May 03, 2013 For my final piece I made a simple Mini Book to show off the beautiful Hydrangea stamps and the rest of my paper pad.

New Nanny Volume One

233

I will be making this type of Mini Book as an online class so that you can make it using papers you have at home. Keep checking back for more details. Enjoy the sunshine tomorrow and looking forward to seeing those of you coming to the Scrapping Your Family Class tomorrow. xx

Cards to share Saturday, May 04, 2013 We had fun at the last card class with everyone finding out just how time consuming it can be die cutting a Hydrangea flower head. There were a few mutterings but over all most people achieved it. Here is the finished card and my favourite of the day.

Each of the tiny flowers were stuck onto a base shape to make the flower. And then there were four more cards to have a go at making.

234

New Nanny Volume One

New Nanny Volume One

235

The owl card and the bicycle card counted as one.

Don’t forget, if you want to come along and make some cards the classes now run twice a month, once on a Wednesday and once on a Thursday (times vary). To book ring Julie on 07725 552501 or e-mail ladiesthatcraft@live.co.uk or click HERE to book online. Have a great evening xx

Sharing Creativity 101 Monday, May 06, 2013 Aprils Creativity 101 Class produced some lovely results with everyone putting their own twist on their finished project. Here are just two. The first is from Michelle

236

New Nanny Volume One

Michelle chose to use Pink as her main colour and it worked really well.

New Nanny Volume One

237

Beautiful work and the pictures work really well. The second is made by Geraldine.

238

New Nanny Volume One

I love the colours in this one as well and the cut out photos work really well. Thank you for sharing ladies. If you would like to see the original project click HERE. More to share tomorrow so keep checking back xx

Scrapping Your Family Class May 2013 Saturday, May 11, 2013 and two more layouts, this time including stamping, die cutting(Memory Box to the rescue), washi tape, Tecnique Tuesday Stamps and the new Bo Bunny Papers. Here is the first

New Nanny Volume One

239

And of course using Bo Bunny Stamps as well. These are some of my favourites this year.

I loved the detail in this one and it’s the first time I’ve used brads for ages but I will definitely be using them again soon. Second layout tomorrow. Have a great day. xxx

Layout Two Sunday, May 12, 2013 the second from the Scrapping Your Family class on 4th May and again using Bo Bunny Papers and Stamps

240

New Nanny Volume One

And Washi Tape which I seem to be using more and more.

Don’t forget that if you came to this class (or paid for the kit only) you will have access to the online class with pictures and instructions from Midnight tonight. I have found loads of older layouts so I am busy photographing and I will share these with you over the coming weeks. If you would like to come to the next Scrapbooking Class please e-mail me at ladiesthatcraft@live.co.uk xxx

Nautical Theme Saturday, May 18, 2013 Last Wednesdays Card Class had a nautical theme with two of the five cards made using the new stamps from Papermania.

New Nanny Volume One

241

The beach huts are super cute and will great on a Scrapbook layout (watch this space)

This card is ideal for the fisherman (or just man) in your life. Then we played with washi tape making three cards following the same design.

The flowers were made using tissue papers and a Heartfelt Creations Die.

242

New Nanny Volume One

The washi tape in this one is from Bazzill. Lastly a simple tall card and adapted envelope for a thank you or best wishes card.

If you would like to come to a card class please e-mail me at ladiesthatcraft@live.co.uk to book your place or click HERE to book online. Have a great weekend xx.

A bit of sunshine Sunday, May 26, 2013 always makes me think of flowers and birds especially where I live as the birds are mega noisy in the morning, so this was my inspiration for the card class last week. I am smitten with the Birdhouse range from Papermania (no idea what the range is really called) so decided to use it their stamps on the first card.

New Nanny Volume One

243

Everyone chose their own colours for the bird houses so we ended up with loads of different cards. Then we looked at mixing and matching papers for matting and layering. This time I used papers pads to combine the colours.

Notice the Washi Tape used instead of ribbon. (love Washi Tape). And a reintroduction to heat embossing (I had forgotten how much fun this is)

244

New Nanny Volume One

And then another card using black embossing to make the background and just a simple Dragonfly dusted with glamour dust, to add the detail.

And as always I do a very quick and easy card to fill in the gaps so that no one is waiting around for a card to make.

New Nanny Volume One

245

I will jazz this one up for the next class just to show how far you can take this design. Hope you’re all enjoying the sun. xx

Spring layouts Tuesday, June 04, 2013 Fed up with the miserable weather I decided to make some spring layouts for the Scrapbook Class last week. This first one is an adaptation of a sketch I have saved in my note book.

I used Washi Tape for the border

246

New Nanny Volume One

and decorated punch outs for the banner

The second layout was simple but time consuming as it involved sewing on paper‌‌

and stamping

Two new layouts Sunday, June 09, 2013 The first was inspired by my morning at The extravaganza weekend at the Craft Barn last weekend. I saw the card and decided that it would make a great Scrapbook page.

I love this stamp from Indigo Blu and I’m sure I’ll use it a lot more.

The second was made to celebrate hubbys 60th Birthday and it was the ideal occasion to use my new Die version Die.

New Nanny Volume One

249

Just love those dancing people.

I am currently making a birthday mini book and will share it as soon as it is finished. Have a great evening xxx

Thank you Sunday, June 09, 2013 Just had to say a big “Thank You to Dyan Reaveley and Jennie at the Artistic Stamper today for an amazing class and to the inspired ladies who were friendly and so creative.

I got suitably messy and had a great time.

My apologies to the man in the Coop who served the mad woman with the green and purple hands (well I couldn’t get it all off and I desperately needs a bottle of milk). I am now finishing off one of my pages which I will share at a later date. I am a happy girl
