We are seeking a new leader to facilitate our Cancer Support Group. No professional facilitator experience is required, just a passion for those who are affected by cancer. Meetings include an exchange of information and discussion among those who have cancer, are survivors of cancer and their family and caregivers. Meeting day and time are open to change. Whether you are a caregiver, a person with mild cognitive loss, or at risk for Alzheimer’s Disease, our mission is to support one another by sharing new ideas through the advancement of research and personal experience to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. This support group will provide a safe and confidential space to share ideas and personal experiences. from any kind of loss such as the loss of a loved one, a job or career, a relationship or a pet. Do you have a SCOV friend/neighbor who appears to be struggling with day-to-day chores: transportation, meal preparation, errands, housekeeping, handyman jobs or paperwork organization? Or do they have a spouse who needs caregiver relief so they can run errands or just have a break? Let them know about Vistoso Helpful Hands (VHH).

VHH is an all-volunteer organization providing year-round short-term (three weeks or 12 visits) assistance to SCOV residents. If longer term help is required, we have a paid referral list.

For assistance, call 520-447-0077 to reach a VHH dispatcher. If we cannot immediately answer, leave your name and number. We will call you back.

Do you remember your first bike? Wheels for Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing rehabbed bicycles to children and families in need in the Tucson area. To date, we have donated 3,000 bikes to local nonprofits who then distribute the bikes to their clients. Some of our partner organizations include Refugee Focus, Boys and Girls Club of Tucson, Children’s Advocacy Center, Casa de los Niños, Ronald McDonald House and Youth On Their Own. Wheels for Kids is an all-volunteer effort, and we are always happy to welcome new people to our team. If you are interested in learning more, please visit our website or call Tom Terfehr.
