Vistoso Helpful Hands coordinator, Barb McNeill
Aren’t we lucky to live in Sun City? One of the reasons is Vistoso Helpful Hands, a group of volunteers offering short-term help with handyman chores, running errands, light yard work or housekeeping, paperwork, transportation and meal delivery from The Views.
All services are at no cost and designed for short-term needs. For those requiring longer term assistance, Helpful Hands will help refer to the appropriate service needed. All provided services are kept strictly confidential.
The Sun City Vistoso Community Foundation helped in funding some of these activities. For assistance call 520447-0077.
Your Foundation salutes and thanks all of the volunteers and their coordinator, Barb McNeill, for making SCOV such a great place.

Art historian and author, Laura Morelli, will speak exclusively with SCOV residents about her new book, The Stolen Lady, on this live Zoom event. She has written over a dozen books including historical novels, as well as authentic shopping and travel guides for places like Venice, Florence and Naples, Italy, and the Southwestern United States. Her latest novel switches back and forth in time between 1939 France and 1479 Florence, Italy, where Leonardo da Vinci and his beautiful subject, Lisa Gherardini (Mona Lisa), find themselves in the crosshairs of history when art and war collide. Look for the clickable Zoom link on the SCOV website under Daily News and on the Library website.
Due to the Activity Center renovation, please email Dave and Tempe Johnson dpjohn@aol.com to confirm time, location and to sign-up to help collate the inserts that go into the Tipster. It’s a great way to get some exercise and meet new people.
Author Julia Cooke will speak and sign copies of her book Come Fly the World, a lively portrait of the jet-age stewardesses serving on iconic Pan Am airways between 1966 and 1975. Remember the days when flying on an airline was a special event, and we dressed up for it? This is an in-person event at Catalina Vista. There is no charge; however, to help us plan for attendance, you will need to obtain a ticket, available beginning Friday, September 17, in the Library.
