Customised Extended Sitelinks in Enhanced Campaigns Back in February 2012, Google extensions by pulling in text from other ads in an account to create extended sitelink extensions with additional detail. This week they have though announced that they will be granting advertisers, which have transitioned to Enhanced Campaigns, the ability to create custom description lines for these extended sitelink extensions; giving control back to the advertiser. If you have upgraded to enhanced campaigns you will soon be able to see the option to add extra text to your sitelinks with 2 additional description lines available when creating or editing sitelinks,

Google Local Search Comes with Carousel Design Google have this week announced some changes to local search on desktop to bring some parity with the tablet local search user interface. With these changes Google will now show results in a carousel format when users make a local search, for example searching for your nearest restaurant, hotel or bar. Some iPad and Nexus tablet users may have already seen this feature in local search results page back in December, but this latest update will bring the same functionality to desktop. The interactive carousel design will soon be rolling out in English in the US and will also give clear visibility of review scores for each location, if available, as below:

Extra Features for Bing Local Extensions Bing launched local extensions for search ads back in March last year, but this week they have announced yet more advanced features to the product. Some of the new features including ‘click to directions’ link, multiple locations per campaign, updated reporting features and improved management tools for uploading location details.
