EMBROIDERY • LAW ENFORCEMENT

Reviving the Glory of Kantha

Farah Khan has passionately championed the revival of Kantha embroidery—a traditional art form that weaves together exquisite craftsmanship and cultural legacy.

Manjari Jaruhar’s Path in Policing

One of the first five women in the Indian Police Service, redefined leadership with courage and conviction, challenging societal norms in a male-dominated field.

Reviving Glorytheof Kantha

Meet Farah Khan, a trailblazing entrepreneur and a proud ambassador of Bengal’s rich textile heritage. As an Army wife and a first-generation woman entrepreneur, Farah has passionately championed the revival of Kantha embroidery—a traditional art form that weaves together exquisite craftsmanship and cultural legacy. Through her dedicated work in the handcrafted textiles sector, she has empowered countless craftswomen, creating opportunities for them to showcase their remarkable skills. Her brand, Kantha by Farah Khan, is celebrated for its seamless blend of traditional techniques with modern designs, appealing to today’s discerning consumers. Farah’s contributions have earned her international acclaim, solidifying her reputation as a visionary leader in the industry.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START YOUR JOURNEY IN THE HANDCRAFTED TEXTILES SECTOR, PARTICULARLY FOCUSING ON KANTHA EMBROIDERY?

My journey is very personal. I saw my mother being very interested into handcrafted textile. But my real connection with handicraft started when, as an army

wife, I went to Kashmir, India. My husband was posted there, and I saw beautiful Kashmiri embroideries there and that’s how I got connected to this world of craft. I learned all the nuances of embroideries and textiles, and also started a small enterprise. That was my first introduction to embroideries and handicrafts. In 2004, my husband got posted to a small town close to Kolkata and very, very close to the hub of Kantha. I went about searching for Kantha. To my surprise, I found none, nothing in the villages. That created curiosity to find the best Kantha. And then I started deeply traveling into villages exploring Kantha. That is when I actually saw the plight of the Kantha artisans. Kantha was just a story of the past. It was a glory of the past.

CAN YOU SHARE THE CHALLENGES YOU FACED WHILE REVIVING TRADITIONAL KANTHA EMBROIDERY, WHICH HAD DECLINED AND LOST ITS GLORY. HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?

I realized that Kantha embroidery is as beautiful as the Kashmiri embroidery. There was so much similarity, but the industry was in a slum. There was no value for this craft. I realized that the craft that was produced those days was very poor, unfinished, unsophisticated, poor colors, poor fabrics. The women artisans had

lost complete faith in the potential of Kantha. They lost their dignity. That’s when I decided that I have to do something for this crowd. The first challenge was how do we build connections with these women? Unless they understand me, they’re not going to believe me. So I started frequently traveling to the villages and meeting them, forming groups, sharing stories. With my sense of humor and laughter, they were getting connected and within no time, we started making groups. I started investing and creating designs. Within a span of two years, we had lot of products. But the next challenge was where do we sell this? Then a crazy idea stuck me. I sought permission from the head of department to allow me to sell my products in the military canteen. I got permission, and my entire products were sold out within a week.

HOW DID YOU GET THE WOMEN ARTISANS TO BELIEVE IN THEIR ART AND DEVELOP A SENSE OF DIGNITY?

The first barrier was developing the connection with them, once that connection was developed; they started believing in me, and gave them lot of faith. We got posted to Kolkata and I opened my first Farah Khan boutique there against all odds. I opened it, and every army wife helped and supported me. The store bought lot of work to these artisans, nobody was sitting empty handed. This actually started the revival. We started with 5 women, and we became 400 and my store became

famous all across the Indian Defense circle in India.

YOUR BRAND BLENDS TRADITIONAL TECHNIQUES WITH CONTEMPORARY DESIGNS. CAN YOU SHARE YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS AND HOW YOU BALANCE THESE ELEMENTS?

Our journey is very unique. Unlike the fashion houses, where the collections change with every season, for us, we create pieces that take around six months to be completed. It’s a process of creating stories. Early in in my entrepreneurial journey, I understood one thing, that the best designers are traditional artisans. They have this sense of colors and patterns in their genes, so they come up with beautiful designs. But then I understood that we also have to evolve. So we had young designers. And I remember one of the young designers suggested that, we bring contemporary geometrical designs into traditional Kantha patterns. So I made her join our master artisan group. New designs evolved with the help of young designers and old master artisans. It feels like a very ancient poem being translated into a modern language.

TALK TO US ABOUT THE JOURNEY FROM YOUR FIRST STORE TO THE OPENING OF THE NEW FLAGSHIP STORE.

This faith came from the artisans, because they were growing in numbers. They were ready to accept the change. I was showing them what we can do to go

ahead. I first decided to make my first store very successful, and it became successful. Then I thought of moving ahead, because our group was increasing and we were improvising on our designs. We were making it more sophisticated, more relevant for today’s wearer. I started getting lot of interns from design schools. So when we started making more things, I understood that we need one more place in a sophisticated market. I decided I have to make beautiful Kantha which appeals to a wider audience. If I have to revive this industry, I can’t keep Kantha only for the 1% of the top elites. So that’s how my second store was born in Kolkata. It’s a go-to-store.

WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE GOALS FOR KANTHA BY FARAH KHAN? CAN YOU SHARE YOUR PLANS FOR SCALING AND EXPANDING THE BRAND FURTHER?

Before I go to my expansion plans, I want to share an interesting story. One day, I was exhibiting my products in one of the international platforms, and a lady from Iceland came and she was so attracted towards my

Christmas Market Decorations in Frankfurt

products that she opened a studio in Iceland. She’s selling my Kanthas in Iceland. So these traditional products made in the warmth of Bengal are being sold in one of the coldest countries. This is something very encouraging and very inspiring to me. I just finished an exhibition in Orlando, and by the end of the second day, we sold almost everything. About my future plans, I came across a young girl in India, and she said, I love your Kanthas but I don’t wear a saree or a dupatta. What is there for me? So, we have decided to design a beautiful segment for young people, something like ready to wear jackets, skirts and many interesting products which will suit today’s younger generation.

Manjari Jaruhar’s Path in Policing

Manjari Jaruhar’s story is one of resilience, grit, and an unyielding commitment to justice. As one of the first five women to serve in the Indian Police Service (IPS), she forged a path in a profession long dominated by men, challenging societal norms and institutional biases. Her memoir, Madam Sir, has become a bestseller, inspiring readers across the globe with its candid portrayal of her life in law enforcement. Through her groundbreaking career, Manjari has not only transformed perceptions of women in the police force but also redefined what it means to lead with courage and conviction.

A CHALLENGING START

Manjari’s journey began in 1976, a time when women in law enforcement were a rarity. “I joined the Indian Police Service in 1976, and before that, in 1972, Kiran Bedi, who’s very well known, had joined the service,” she explained. Despite the precedent set by her trailblazing predecessor, Manjari faced resistance from the outset. “The chief of the police did not want me. I was asked to wait, and it was very frustrating.”

Her early years in the service were marked by constant pushback. “For the first seven, eight years, there was always resistance in our service. But I persisted,” she said. Manjari’s determination to stay the course, even in the face of institutional skepticism, would come to define her career.

BREAKING BARRIERS IN BIHAR

One of the defining chapters of her career was her posting in Bihar, a state in India known for its traditional and conservative outlook. “We have a khaki uniform, a pant and shirt, just like the men. The people were very curious. I don’t think Bihar had seen a woman in pants, and that too in a khaki outfit,” she recounted.

Her presence in a male-dominated environment often left her colleagues unsure of how to address her. “Everywhere I went, even when I visited village police stations, they just did not know how to react to me. In our hierarchical culture, subordinates always say, ‘Sir’ for everything. Instead of yes or no, they would reply, ‘No, sir,’ and you are supposed to interpret what they mean. That is the culture.” The solution? A unique title that encapsulated her

role and their respect: Madam Sir. “It has stuck,” she said with a smile.

CONFRONTING HARROWING REALITIES

Manjari’s memoir captures the stark realities of her profession, detailing the moments that tested her resolve. “I had to recount things which were really important, things which were at the core of my heart,” she said. One such case involved a murdered woman whose parents begged her to pursue justice. But as the case progressed, the parents suddenly withdrew their plea. “When I asked them why, they said that the husband of the murdered daughter wanted to marry their second daughter. Can you believe this? I’ve written very graphically in the book about how your uniform feels useless in such moments.” Her career also brought her face-to-face with systemic issues within the police force. “Very early in my career, I was drafted in a team to look into the blinding of criminals by the police force. They had thought of a novel idea of controlling crime by gouging out the eyes and pouring acid into the eyes of the accused. It was horrendous,” she

recalled. Despite public support for the officers, Manjari took a principled stand. “The evidence was against the police officers. They had done it, and I could not say I would not prosecute them. I realized that in a police job, one has to go on a straight path if you want to deliver. You cannot do things which are not right, even if it means going against your own force.”

A LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE

When Manjari retired in 2010, her journey was far from over. “I was very clear in my mind that I’m not going to sit at home,” she said. Almost immediately, she was approached by a senior police officer to work on combating music piracy. “My first job was dealing with the piracy of music. I had to create anti-piracy groups, teams who would go and check piracy of music physically. With my vast experience in how police stations operate, how teams work, and how the law works, I was able to advise them and build teams all over the country.”

Her expertise extended to corporate consulting, where

she worked with a large IT company to improve women’s safety. “Women are working around the clock, often coming to big cities for the first time, so they face unique challenges. I guided the company on what security arrangements needed to be made for their safety.” Manjari also led initiatives for the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, heading its vertical on the private security industry.

EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION

Manjari’s experiences have made her a vocal advocate for women in the workforce. “Women tend to leave their jobs at the slightest unease in family life. I feel that one should not give up so easily. If something is not working for you, make an effort to make it work,” she said. She emphasizes the importance of mentorship and collaboration. “Often, when women are working, they have their noses up in the air and will not seek help. It is good to build contacts, have a mentor, and have a role model who can guide you.”

Her message to women is clear: perseverance and adaptability are key. “Don’t always feel frustrated that

because I’m a woman, it is happening to me. Learn to work with every kind of team and group of people, and you will find success. It is for you to turn every challenge into an opportunity.”

A CONTINUING JOURNEY

Despite her retirement, Manjari’s schedule remains packed with meaningful work. “I don’t think I’m retired, because I’m doing so many things, and I like to keep myself busy,” she said. Through her book and her ongoing efforts, she continues to inspire others to lead with integrity and courage.

In Madam Sir, Manjari writes about life’s challenges and how to turn them into opportunities. Her story is a testament to the power of persistence, the importance of ethical leadership, and the profound impact of blazing a trail for others to follow. “They did not want me in the police service, but I stood my ground. I felt that I had been chosen to do a much bigger job, and I insisted and persisted.” For Manjari Jaruhar, the journey of breaking barriers and empowering others is far from over.

How to create lasting change!

Have you noticed or read about gym membership sign ups going through the roof in the first week of January? I see social media flooded with posts about alcohol-free January. But every year, even before dry January comes to end, so does people’s enthusiasm towards their health commitment … whether it’s drinking or working out.

Creating lasting change is a powerful goal that requires a strategic and holistic approach. Be it health, career, relationships, or just about anything else. Meaning, you can’t eat 4 slices of cake every day during the holiday season and wake up on

January 1st as a healthier person just because you went to the gym that day. You can’t expect to start a new career in the 1st week of the New Year without working on your resume or landing interviews or talking to the right people weeks, if not months, prior.

There are some key principles that help you make meaningful and sustainable transformations in your life:

IDENTIFYING AREAS THAT NEED IMPROVEMENT: Wanting to change and aspiring to become a better version of yourself is a good thing. This tells us that

growth is on your mind. But you can’t change jobs, get married, lose 30 pounds, backpack across Europe all at the same time. Pick one area that you want to focus on and stick to that. Also, understand the emotional drivers behind your current behaviors. Why the lack of exercise? Or no desire to make human connections? Or pouring yourself a drink everyday once home? Start with one area of change and identify what are your stressors and triggers!

UNDERSTANDING YOUR MOTIVATION: Start by deeply examining why you want to create change. Lasting change comes from genuine, heartfelt desire rather than external pressures or secretive comparison or competition with your colleagues, friends, peers, or family members. Take time for self-reflection to identify your core motivations, values, and the specific outcomes you’re seeking. For example, if wanting to feel more at peace so you can show up fully to life is a goal, then take meditation classes. If alcohol makes you angry and your family walks around on eggshells, it’s a good

reason to want to cut down on drinking.

ESTABLISHING

MICRO-HABITS THAT ARE EASY TO MAINTAIN: Set clear and specific goals. In the world of marketing and communications, we often refer to SMART Goals. Break down your desired change into specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. Instead of a vague goal like “get healthier,” define precise objectives such as “exercise for 30 minutes, 4 times a week” or “eat vegetables with every meal.” Similarly, “lose weight” is ambiguous, so add a number and commit to it: “5 lbs. by the end of 1st quarter of 2025.”

INTEGRATING NEW HABITS INTO ONE’S

IDENTITY: Building sustainable habits is about consistent, small actions rather than dramatic overnight transformations. Focus on developing tiny, manageable habits that compound over time. Set a rule that you won’t drink that cup of tea or coffee in the morning unless you have meditated for 5 minutes. If you eat with the family every evening,

at the dinner table, say one thing you are grateful for before you eat the first bite. Basically, stacking new habits onto existing routines makes it easier to integrate new habits.

BUILDING A SUPPORT SYSTEM: Create a supportive environment as your surroundings significantly impact your ability to change. Make sure that your tribe includes encouraging and understanding people. Minimize friction between you and your new habits. For example, if sugar detox is your goal, remove temptations that derail your goals … meaning don’t keep anything sweet at home (desserts, cookies, mithai etc.). And, if friends and family bring any over, in a nice but assertive way, give them back all the leftovers.

PRACTICING CONSISTENT SELF-REFLECTION:

Regularly review your progress, adjust your strategies, and recommit to your goals. Consider keeping a journal. Schedule weekly or monthly check-ins with yourself and be honest about what’s working and what isn’t. Practice new skills consistently. Also, read books and take courses so the onus isn’t on you alone. Don’t judge but practice compassion when you discover something about yourself that you don’t like. Meaning, remain flexible and willing to adapt your new approach.

FINDING WAYS TO HOLD YOURSELF

ACCOUNTABLE: I am a big fan of accountability,

be it workouts or career goals. On days you aren’t feeling the motivation, your accountability buddy will light the fire within or even motivate you to show up because you are both dependent on each other. Work with a coach or mentor. Share your goals with trusted friends or family. Join support groups. Use apps or tools that track your progress.

PRACTICING PATIENCE AND PERSISTENCE:

Understand that meaningful change takes time. Celebrate small moments. Lasting change is a lifelong journey, not a destination that you needed to have reached yesterday. View obstacles as chances to improve. Reframe negative self-talk. Be kind to yourself throughout the process and maintain a long-term perspective. Remember that progress is rarely linear, and small, consistent efforts matter more than occasional, intense bursts of activity.

• Create a detailed action plan.

• Break your plan into weekly and daily actions.

• Review and adjust regularly.

• Celebrate your progress, no matter how small.

By combining these strategies and maintaining a holistic approach, you can create lasting, meaningful change in your life without adding new stressors. The key is consistency, self-compassion, and a commitment to continuous growth.

The Power of Courage, Compassion, and Change

From Defiance to Significance—A Journey of Courage and Impact

Mona Patel is not just an entrepreneur or philanthropist; she is a force of nature. Her story—a journey from a small, conservative town in India to the global stage—illuminates the power of resilience, ambition, and purpose. Known for founding eight successful companies in healthcare, technology, and real estate, Mona has not only shattered glass ceilings but built ladders for others to rise. Through her nonprofit Couture for Cause, she is a beacon of hope for girls and women striving for equality. Yet, her success is not simply measured in accolades or profits; it is rooted in the deepseated values instilled by her family and her relentless pursuit of personal and professional significance.

Bold Beginnings

Born into a traditional Gujarati family, Mona was no stranger to societal norms that often confined women to limited roles. But even as a young girl, she rebelled against these constraints. “In those early years, I began to understand that boys were treated differently than girls,” she reflects. “It shaped me profoundly, but instead of succumbing to these inequalities, I grew determined to challenge them.” Mona embraced a boyish persona, complete with a short haircut and outfits borrowed from her father’s wardrobe, much to the chagrin of her extended family.

Her mother, however, was her unwavering support. “She was my fortress,” Mona says. “No matter how society reacted to my choices, my mother never let it reach me. She created a bubble of encouragement where I could be exactly who I wanted to be.” This nurturing

environment fostered Mona’s sense of individuality, setting the stage for her to dream big.

A Catalyst for Change

The turning point came during her teenage years when Mona observed firsthand how societal biases impacted her and her peers. “I saw my friends being forced to abandon their dreams because their families prioritized marriage over education,” she recalls. Determined not to let this be her destiny, Mona excelled in school and pursued higher education against the odds. Her academic journey brought her to the United States, where she earned degrees in business and healthcare management.

“I was free to exploremy potential, but
I also carried theweightof representing myfamilyand mycultureina foreignland.”

“Coming to America was both a liberation and a challenge,” Mona admits. “I was free to explore my potential, but I also carried the weight of representing my family and my culture in a foreign land.” This dual responsibility fueled her drive to succeed.

In her early career, Mona worked in healthcare consulting, where she quickly gained recognition for her innovative solutions and leadership skills. Yet, corporate success was not enough for her. “I felt a deep need to do something meaningful, something that would leave a legacy,” she says. This desire led her to entrepreneurship. Building Empires, Breaking Barriers

Mona’s entrepreneurial journey began with a healthcare company that specialized in providing tech-enabled solutions for patient care. “I wanted to bridge the gap between technology and human touch in healthcare,” she explains. The venture was a resounding success, paving the way for her to explore other industries, including real estate and technology. Over the years, she founded eight companies, each reflecting her commitment to

innovation and excellence.

Her ventures, however, were not without challenges. “As a woman of color in male-dominated industries, I had to work twice as hard to be taken seriously,” Mona shares. “There were moments when I felt invisible in boardrooms or underestimated by investors.” But instead of letting these obstacles deter her, she used them as fuel. “Every rejection was a reminder of why I started,” she says.

Mona’s leadership style—empathetic yet firm—set her apart. She prioritized building diverse teams and creating an inclusive workplace culture. “I’ve always believed that diversity is not just the right thing to do; it’s the smart thing to do,” she asserts. This philosophy not only earned her the loyalty of her employees but also contributed to the success of her businesses.

A Mission to Empower

While Mona’s professional achievements are remarkable, it is her philanthropic work that truly defines her. In 2015, she launched Couture for Cause, a nonprofit organization that combines fashion with philanthropy to support underprivileged girls and women. The initiative raises funds through highprofile fashion shows and events, with proceeds going toward scholarships, vocational training, and advocacy programs.

“Fashion is a universal language,” Mona explains. “I wanted to use its power to bring attention to important social issues.” The organization has since impacted thousands of lives, providing opportunities for girls and women to break free from the cycle of poverty and oppression.

One of Mona’s proudest moments came when Couture for Cause funded the education of a young girl from her hometown in Gujarat. “Seeing her graduate as a doctor was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life,” she says with a smile. “It reminded me of why I started this journey.”

Balancing Roles and Defying Expectations

As a mother, Mona is deeply committed to instilling the same values of resilience and independence in her children. “I want them to grow up knowing that their

Flipping the Script: Women Redefining Success on Their Terms

“Don’t buy society’s definition of success because it’s not working for anyone. It’s not working for women, it’s not working for men, it’s not working for polar bears, it’s not working for the cicadas that are apparently about to emerge and swarm us. It’s only truly working for those who make pharmaceuticals for stress, diabetes, heart disease, sleeplessness, and high blood pressure,”Arianna Huffington, president and editorin-chief of The Huffington Post, said while delivering the commencement address at Smith College.

H uffington spilled many gems throughout her speech. One that resonated with me the most is how men have created the image of success synonymous with money and power much like “a long, phallic-shaped line, where one is supposed to have linear career moments in their work portfolio. Many women like Huffington have started to question the established definition of success. They realize the real motive behind it and who really is getting benefitted from it.

“ Exhausting is how I’d describe most of my adult life. It had become a never-ending production of long hours spent

climbing the corporate ladder in pursuit of the big house, nice car, and six-figure salary. I worked hard. I impressed the right people. I accomplished. But the more I achieved those goals, the more exhausted I became and the less I felt like me,” says Linda Bucher, a life coach, speaker, and author, in an interview article.

B ucher, after realizing she had been following someone else’s definition of success for the last 25 years of her life, decided to quit her full-time corporate job to embark on a journey of self-discovery. She decided to follow her passion for helping people and got herself enrolled in a yearlong program to train and certify as a life coach. S he realized how success is less about promotions, status, or money but more about freedom, fulfilment, and life balance; these are the things she could measure her worth with, she says.

H uffington’s words in her speech echo Bucher’s thoughts. She speaks to the freshly graduated women of all-womencollege to emphasize the significance of the three Ws for success: well-being, wonder, and wisdom. Without these, she says, there is no sustainable success. She tells these women about the importance of sleep for well-being (which many people, especially women tend to ignore these days), to have a sense of wonder for small and little mundane things, and to look within and tap into your own wisdom for the right decisions. All this time we have been only focusing on financial capital, but it is the human capital, she says, that also needs to be nurtured the most. The capitalist corporate world often forgets this.

Women today carry multiple workloads, including unpaid domestic household work. They are surrounded by the ubiquitous “you-can-do-it-all” narratives, which is exhausting for them. And despite leading traditional successful careers, they are often perceived as “The second sex” in society and the workplace. “As a female surgeon, I think about this a lot!” Starla Fitch, a physician, life coach, and professional speaker wrote in her LinkedIn post. She spoke to several female medical colleagues in their mid-forties and fifties who are “multi-tasking, modernday, strong, intelligent practicing physicians” about their careers and work environment. And many of them shared about the everyday sexism that they have had to endure in their workplaces.

“Despitehavinga3.8outofa4.0GPAinengineeringata prominentschool,Iwasasked‘Whatmakesyouthinkyou could be a doctor?’” “The doctor I interviewed with said, “I don’t know why anyone would hire you. It’s much too demanding work for a woman.” Fitch’s colleagues shared. Despite their credentials, hard work, and demonstrated

competence, they shared how they are subjected to doubts and stereotypes that undermine their authority, ability, and confidence.

J ess Galica, an author and career coach asks women to live with an intention over traditions to ask themselves tough questions like “What am I doing this for?” and “What’s a truth that I’m not telling myself?” This self-reflection, she says, can result in profound self-growth in them and can give them much-needed confidence and clarity in their career choices. In order to redefine success, she asks women to challenge the narrative; to take on the patriarchy and systemic workplace issues collectively. “It’s not just about climbing the ladder; it’s about changing the structure of the ladder itself for everyone,” she says.

T he traditional definition of success—a relentless pursuit of money, power, and status—has failed us all, leaving behind a trail of burnout, inequity, and unfulfilled lives. Women like Huffington and Bucherare flipping the script, showing us that true success isn’t about fitting into a mold designed by others. It’s about reclaiming our time, nurturing our well-being, and rewriting the rules to honor freedom, purpose, and human connection. Their stories remind us: success isn’t climbing higher on someone else’s ladder—it’s daring to build your own.

NEW YEAR, NEW YOU

As we embark on 2025, here are some recipes that are bursting with health and nutrients to make the best start to the year.

Healthy cooking is not about restriction, it is about exploration, creativity, and joy. Each meal is an opportunity to nourish your body and delight your taste buds.

Make thoughtful choices based on your nutritional needs. For instance, instead of adding ghee and coffee shots to your routine just because it’s trending, consider your saturated fat intake and make an informed decision. If you’re snacking on potato chips despite having three healthy meals, switch to a whole fruit as a more nutritious alternative. Substitute mushrooms for a meaty texture in vegetarian recipes. Instead of refined sugar, try caramelized onions for a natural, sweeter flavor in your dish. Replace monosodium glutamate with a homemade vegetable stock made from cruciferous stalks to achieve umamirich flavors. Use soy sauce, herbs, spices, or innovative options like orange rind powder or dehydrated tomato skin powder to reduce salt

intake without compromising flavor.

Use fresh, seasonal ingredients for better taste and nutrients. Use low-fat cooking methods like boiling or steaming. You can also bake or airfry instead of deep-frying. Processed foods can contain hidden fats and are best avoided. Enjoy the flavours of your favourite snacks without the excess oil and calories by baking or air-frying them. Choose whole almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, or fresh fruits like apples, bananas, or pomegranates for a healthy and satisfying snack. Cooking at home can help you know exactly what is in your food and avoid hidden ingredients. It is important not to change or swap your diet too much all at once. Don’t eat too much before going to bed and remember don’t buy food from unlicensed hawkers.

Here are some recipes that are healthy and do not compromise on health.
