NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: A man tried to rob a Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse store in Kissimmee, Fla., holding a pair of scissors to a clerk's throat. But the clerk, aided by customers, not only overpowered the robber, they were able to chase him out of the store and across the street, where he hopped over a brick wall. That didn't help much: he stood out at the resort behind the wall as he was one of the few people inside wearing clothes; the resort is clothing-optional. Milton J. Hodges Jr, 20, allegedly pulled a knife when surrounded by responding sheriff's deputies, and was arrested at gunpoint. He faces at least 10 felony charges, plus a charge of being a fugitive after fleeing charges relating to an earlier robbery, and is being held without bail. (RC/Orlando Sentinel) ...One way or another, this was going to end up with him being strpped.

HOW DO YOU PLEAD? When cosmetologist Susan Cole, 57, showed up as summoned for jury duty at the Denver (Colo.) District Court, she looked like a wreck: her hair was in curlers, her socks and shoes didn't match, and "Her makeup looked like something you would wear during a theater performance," said the court reporter. "I broke out of domestic violence in the military," Cole told the court. "And I have a lot of repercussions. One is post-traumatic stress disorder." She said she lived on the street, and a sympathetic Judge Anne Mansfield quickly excused her. Several months later, Cole was on a radio show in Denver, allegedly bragging about how she faked the story, and how amusing her salon clients thought her tactics were. Among the listeners to that show: Judge Mansfield, who recognized the woman from her court. Cole has been charged with perjury and attempting to influence a public servant, both felonies. Cole is the author of a book to "help you deal with difficult relationships and situations" through understanding passages from the Bible. (RC/Denver Post) ... Apparently not including the Ten Commandments.going to end with him being stripped SLOW TO GET THEJOKE: Britain's Advertising Standards Authority has ruled a furniture store's slogan "offensive and unsuitable for general display," even though the store has been using it for 10 years. The store in question, based in Northampton, is called Sofa King, and the slogan touts its prices as "Sofa King Low". A spokesman for the ASA notes that "Consumer research had found this to be a word so likely to offend that it should not be used in ads at all, even when it was relevant to the name of a product." A previous investigation of the slogan 8 years ago came to a "no action necessary " conclusion. But this time, after three complaints, the ASA banned its use in the company's advertising. (RC/BBC) ...Surely the store Sofa King knew this was coming someday!

Enjoy your holiday – Get Decent Travel Insurance The main reason for going on holiday is to get from it all and enjoy a well earned break. It is reassuring to know that you have decent travel insurance to look after you if things go wrong. Here’s a short guide to help you select pick the right type of cover What are you going to do whilst on holiday? Most policies are fine in you are just going to sit by the pool, but you will certainly need extra cover if you are going sky diving! But you should check your policy carefully if you are going to hire a moped or motorcycle, go scuba diving, bungee jumping, quad biking etc Remember that in a fit of enthusiasm you might ride on a banana boat or hire a jet ski, so do check the small print or ask your travel insurer before you buy the policy.

Nobody wants to pay more than necessary, but price should not be your only consideration. There’s very little point in going for the cheapest cover if it doesn’t meet your needs. Ensure there is sufficient cover for medical expenses, personal liability, cancellation, baggage and cash cover. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office recommend a minimum of £2 million for medical expenses. You should also ensure that you are covered for personal liability and you should consider covering your baggage, passport, travel delay and missed departure. Your travel insurance policy will only be valid if it covers your entire return trip from the date you leave home until the date you arrive back home, you cannot insure just one part of a trip. Don’t forget that if you have a pre-existing medical condition, you should check whether or not you need medical screening. If you are pregnant, check to see what you are covered for, Many people like to have a relaxing drink and travel insurers understand this, however they

do expend you to be sensible and take reasonable care for your own safety. You might find that you are uninsured if you had an accident because you were completely Brahms!

Georgia Part 2 In 1783, Russia and the eastern Georgian Kingdom signed the Treaty of Georgievsk, which recognized the bond of Orthodox Christianity between Russian and Georgian people and promised eastern Georgia protection. However, despite this commitment to defend Georgia, Russia rendered no assistance when the Turks and Persians invaded in 1785 and in 1795, completely devastating Tbilisi and massacring its inhabitants. In the summer of 1805, Russian troops eventually defeated the Persian army and saved Tbilisi from conquest now that it was officially part of the Imperial territories. Declaration of independence After the Russian Revolution of 1917, Georgia declared independence on May 26, 1918, In 1918, the Georgian–Armenian War erupted over parts of Georgian provinces populated mostly by Armenians which ended

because of British intervention. Georgia was under British protection from 1918–1920. Georgia in the Soviet Union In February 1921, Georgia was attacked by the Red Army. The Georgian army was defeated and the Social-Democrat government fled the country. On February 25, 1921 the Red Army entered the capital Tbilisi and installed a Moscow directed communist government. In 1936 and Georgia became the Georgian SSR. Joseph Stalin, an ethnic Georgian, was prominent among the Bolsheviks, who came to power in the Russian Empire after the Revolution in 1917. Stalin was to rise to the highest position of the Soviet state. 1921 Red Army Tblisi

From 1941 to 1945, during World War II, almost 700,000 Georgians fought in the Red Army against Nazi Germany. (A number also fought on the German side.) About 350,000 Georgians died in the battlefields of the Eastern Front. On April 9, 1989, a peaceful demonstration in the Georgian capital Tbilisi ended up with several people being killed by Soviet troops. Georgia after restoration of independence On April 9, 1991, shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union, Georgia declared independence. Zviad Gamsakhurdia was elected as a first President of independent Georgia. He was soon deposed in a bloody coup in 1991. The country became embroiled in a bitter civil war which lasted almost until 1995. Disputes between local separatists and the majority Georgian populations, erupted into widespread inter-ethnic violence and wars. Roughly 250,000 Georgians were expelled in 1992–1993. Around 23,000 Georgians fled and many families were forced to abandon

their homes and move to Russia. In 2003, Shevardnadze (who won reelection in 2000) was deposed by the Rose Revolution, after Georgian opposition and international monitors asserted that the elections were marred by fraud. After the Rose Revolution, a series of reforms were launched to strengthen the country's military and economic capabilities. The new government's efforts to reassert Georgian authority in the southwestern autonomous republic of Ajaria led to a major crisis early in 2004. These events, along with accusations of Georgian involvement in the Second Chechen War, resulted in a severe deterioration of relations with Russia. Despite these increasingly difficult relations, in May 2005 Georgia and Russia reached a bilateral agreement by which Russian military bases (dating back to the Soviet era) in Batumi and Akhalkalaki were withdrawn. by Jan Morley Summer Barbecue If the term 'barbecue' conjours up images of burnt sausages and frazzled burgers, burnt on the outside and pink in the middle- the time has come to consider a whole new cooking experience. Let our handy cooking tips guide you to better barbecuing! Do experiment with cooking methods Use your barbecue to its full potential - modern barbecues can grill, fry, roast and bake. If you have a barbecue with a lid, leave it on and the barbecue acts like an oven so you can cook whole fish and meat joints, and any other food that needs longer cooking at low temperatures Marinating prior to barbecuing helps tenderise, imparts flavour and keeps meats and vegetables moist throughout the cooking process. It takes at least half-an-hour for the coals to reach the desired temperature - they should be a ashen grey tips and have a reddish glow before you even venture near them to cook A good test is if you can hold you hand 15cm above the bbq for 4 seconds, it is ready to use..Leave a space coal free, so you can slow the cooking down if needed. The 'scorch-and-torch' school of barbecuing is out, as cooking like this will produce charred and under-cooked results. Cooking time depends on the cut of meat and whether you prefer rare, medium or well-done. In general the larger the cut, the longer you cook it. Use a timer for best results. If you want to speed up the cooking process, food can be partially cooked in the oven , but it must be done immediately before barbecuing. Modern barbecues can grill, fry, roast and bake. If you have a barbecue with a lid, leave it on and the barbecue acts like an oven so you can cook whole fish and meat joints, and any other food that needs longer cooking at low temperatures. Try not to prod the food as it releases the juices and makes the food dry

If cooking for a crowd, keep the oven on ,then you can keep some food warm whilst cookingmore You need to minimise the opportunities for bacteria to multiply, and avoid crosscontamination. The threat of E.coli O157 comes particularly from beef products (such as burgers), and the risk of salmonella and campylobacter particularly from chicken. Bacteria flourish in warm temperatures and double in number every 20 minutes. But the good news is that if you handle your food with care and cook it thoroughly, you can avoid them all. Don´t be tempted to pour the marínate that had raw meat in it, over cooked meats… Finally, Don’t use petrol or lighter fuel Only use non-toxic firelighters - you want to be able to taste the food not the fuel!

Enjoy!

could have a family meal or a secluded meal for two.

The Peacock It is always nice to try some place new to eat. Having such a varied choice of bars and restaurants that serve Sunday lunch at various prices it is sometimes impossible to choose. So recommendation is the usual route. When Katrina from the peacock asked to advertise in the magazine it was a natural choice to visit the restaurant. She had told me that “Mr Brown” from the well renowned “Browns restaurant”, now sadly closed, was her knew chef. This was all the incentive I needed to visit and try out the food. My sister was visiting for my birthday so it seemed a good venue for a family meal. I was impressed by the terrace area which was easily accessible with plenty of space, not crammed in like sardines. Equally the inside was beautifully decorated creating and quiet ambiance with the spacing such that you

We ordered the Sunday roast 2 courses for only 5.95€ and enjoyed a sensibly priced beer while we waited. The Food arrived and was beautifully presented with the vegetables cooked just right and cauliflower cheese that was just superb. The cut of beef was succulent and the home-made Yorkshire pudding delightful. Topped off with rich gravy it was excellent. This was followed by a lovely dessert, Apple crumble with Cream. Delicious. I must say I do not get many opportunities for Sunday lunch but when I do get the chance, I will be going back to the Peacock. Mr Brown's reputation is intact so I must try the steak deal one day. Thanks to Katrina and Mr Brown for a lovely meal , The Sentinella will definitely be visiting again. Kevin Editor

Wondering about the shelf life of your pile of makeup? Every woman we know has a pile of makeup in her drawer that she "sometimes" uses. Translation: Never uses, but keeps just in case she finally learns how to properly apply blue eyeshadow. Beauty products do have a shelf life, however, and chances are that blue eyeshadow with the glimmery bits that you bought a couple years ago (for Halloween?) has long expired. Here's a quick guide on the shelf lives of typical beauty products. We've listed them in alphabetical order. Oh, and just one quick little "PS": Please keep in mind that these are estimates, no matter what anyone tells you, it's unlikely you'll go blind from using 2-year-old mascara. -Concealer Up to 12 months. -Powder 2 years. -Cream & gel cleansers 1 year. -Pencil eye liner Should be sharpened regularly. -Will last up to 3 years. -Eyeshadow Will also last up to 3 years. Extra tip: A dark eyeshadow can double as eyeliner, in fact, most makeup artists swear by eyeshadow used as eyeliner. You'll need a super-flat eyeliner brush for this (MAC, Sephora and Aveda have great brushes). Get the brush a little damp and dab in dark eyeshadow (black, brown or deep jewel-tones work great). Wiggle the brush into your lash line focusing on the space between your lashes, then sweep the color just above your lash line. - Brushes Wash every 2-3 months in a mild detergent. - Sponges Wash weekly and discard monthly. - Foundation Check the ingredients: A water-based foundation will last up to 12 months, oil-based will last up to 18 months. You may find you need two different shades of foundation each year: One for summer when your skin is naturally darker and one for winter when you're lighter. Extra tip: If your water-based foundation dries out before it's expiration date, simply add a few drops of alcohol-free toner and shake to mix it in. No need to do this to oil-based foundations. Because they contain oil, they will tend to separate.

You have to shake anyway. - Lip liner Up to 3 years. Extra tip: Skip the push-up lip liners. They're expensive, tend to break and you never really know how much you have left until you run out. No need to spend money on lip liners, there's no secret to greatness for this product. Save your money for powders and foundation. - Lipstick Some experts say 1-2 years. Others say up to 4 years. What everyone agrees on is that if it smells rancid, throw it out, it's spoiled. Extra tip: If you store lipstick in the refrigerator, it will last longer. Bonus tip: Want your lipstick to last longer during the day? Shade in lips with lip liner beforeapplying lipstick. . - Mascara This product expires the fastest: Throw out after 4 months. Extra tip: If you don't want your mascara to expire faster than its fresh date, don't pump the wand in and out -- you're only exposing the product to drying air. - Nail Polish Up to 12 months, depending on the quality and how many times you take it on a plane (the cap always unscrews on me during flights, leaving my purse a -- fume-y -- mess!). Peter Andre has struck up an unlikely friendship with So Solid Crew rapper Lisa Maffia. The 39-year-old singer told his 2,105,261 Twitter followers last week that he was 'loving' Lisa, 33, after spending time with her in the recording studio. 'She's recording at the moment as well and we've been getting on really well. She's absolutely gorgeous,' says Peter. 'Do I fancy her? I fancy everyone! Let's just leave it at that...' Peter is currently single but Steps singer Claire Richards has revealed in her new autobiography that they had a dalliance when they were touring together in 1995. While Pete admits he thought Claire was 'gorgeous' too, he didn't want to take their relationship any further than an innocent smooch. 'I bumped into her one night in a hotel corridor and gave her a kiss on the lips and then a kiss on her midriff,' says Peter. 'In her book, she said I called her a couple of years later but I honestly can't remember that as it was so long ago. 'I'm seeing her this Saturday at a gig we're doing so I'm sure we'll have a laugh about it all then!' Cruise and Holmes Divorce (CNN) -- Seven years after Tom Cruise famously jumped on a couch during an "Oprah" taping to declare his love for Katie Holmes, the actor and actress are ending their marriage, Cruise's attorney said. Holmes filed for divorce, according to Cruise's lawyer Bert Fields. "Tom is very sad about it and is concentrating on the kids," Fields said. Cruise's publicist, Amanda Lundberg, confirmed the pending divorce -- which was first reported by CNN and urged people to respect "their privacy to work this out." Jonathan Wolfe, an attorney for Holmes, called the issue "a personal and private matter for

Katie and her family." "Katie's primary concern remains, as it has always been, her daughter's best interest," Wolfe said in a statement. Tom always wanted to be a father The couple wed in Italy in November 2006, seven months after their daughter, Suri, was born. Pictures of the family have often appeared in tabloid magazines in the years since, though the couple have steered clear of controversy and frequently appeared together at events. In the June edition of Playboy, Cruise, 49, said he loved Holmes, 33, as much as when they got hitched 5½ years earlier. "She is an extraordinary person, and if you spent five minutes with her, you'd see it," he said. "I'm just happy, and I have been since the moment I met her. What we have is very special." Cruise is one of Hollywood's most recognizable stars, starring in "Taps" and "The Outsiders" before breaking out in the 1983 film "Risky Business." He's appeared in a host of widely seen films since, including Oscar-nominated roles in "Born on the Fourth of July," "Jerry Maguire" and "Magnolia" and the hit action series "Mission Impossible."

The Fundamental Importance Of Good Posture: A Window To Your Health “More than 90 percent of the energy output of the brain is used in relating to the physical body in it’s gravitational field. The more mechanically distorted a person is, the less energy available for thinking, metabolism and healing” said Dr. Roger Sperry, Nobel Laureate. It comes as no surprise then that vibrant health cannot exist with bad posture. According to the American Journal of Preventative Medicine "Posture affects and moderates every physiologic function from breathing to hormonal production. Spinal pain, headache, mood, blood pressure, pulse and lung capacity are among the functions most easily influenced by posture. “ Amazingly, despite the considerable evidence that posture affects physiology and function, the significant influence on posture and health is not addressed by most allopathic (medical) physicians according to a study published in the American Journal of Pain Management. The most common deviation from normal posture is forward head posture. Forward head posture has been associated with headaches and migraine, sinus problems as well as shoulder and jaw problems, and is the primary cause of Dowager’s hump. This loss of the normal neck curve not only has a negative effect on your body's control of movement and posture, but also interferes with your brain's ability to control all types of activities within the body, the result of altered nerve function. In fact the loss of normal nerve function even interferes with that most basic process of your cells, the creation of the energy needed to perform bodily activities, the end result can be fatigue and poor energy in the person with poor nerve function. A loss of normal nerve function is what chiropractic is interested in locating and treating. Because you live through your Because you live through your nervous system, it is vitally important that this

Coin RBL ARMED FORCES DAY By Charles Edwards Around 40 members of the Coin Branch of the Royal British Legion commemorated Armed Forces day on the 30th of June 2012 with a Tapas and Wine Party. The entire group gathered together on Saturday evening in the shady and private garden of legion member Rosie Mahoney while the Chairman of the Branch, Jo Taylor, paid tribute to all our active duty servicemen around the world and wished them safe wherever they were. The colossal display of eclectic food was prepared by Legion members and ranged from hugely popular tortilla con patatas, pastas, salads and, the piece de resistance, a very spicy Thai dipping sauce that went perfectly with everything. The most unusual tapa of the night was a very tasty caviar log and that went especially well with the selection of Rioja wines on offer. The weather was perfect, the food was outstanding and the company was relaxed. What a way to remember Armed Forces Day! Jubilee Glee Age Care Association’s Fuengirola volunteers sponsored a mini-celebration in Los Boliches with their clients and friends. Well attended and well fed, the air of gaiety and merriment could be heard all the way to Buckingham Palace! A perfect day with typical British tidbits: Indian dabs, lasagne and cava. The Queen can be proud of her subjects on the Costa del Sol.

Finding the purrrrrfect perfume..… by Ann French of WeDoBling.com Do you notice that when you smell a perfume it can transport you back in time, firing up feelings, good or bad, from the past? Years ago a spritz on the wrist was to camouflage bad smells from the body, but today it has become a symbol of our personality. We use perfumes to allure the opposite sex; it ignites the fire of sex and sensuality. So how do you choose a scent: Your Scent. Do you stick with a classic fragrance or try a celebrity one? Do you want your fragrance to be about you or do you want to smell like a particular celebrity? If it’s the latter then there are a plethora of celebrity fragrances out there on the market, so take your pick. If however, it is the former, whether it be the smell of strawberries as they warm in the sun, the heavy musk scent of burning incense or the smell of the ocean, the linger in the air needs to be about you and not the name on the bottle. Now whilst you are choosing that signature scent you need to remember that it needs to be in tune with your own natural scent, not for it to take over and do you want people to say “Wow, what is that perfume she is wearing?” Five tips to choosing your scent Choosing a perfume takes time, and we are talking about your signature scent, so don’t rush out to the store expecting to sniff a few paper strips, choosing a favourite and be done if 15 minutes…… Oh no. Follow the tips below, go home and then choose a few hours later. That way you should have made the right choice. 1 - Ranked from lightest to strongest: Perfume mist, Eau de Cologne, Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum and Parfum. Parfum is the richest form of perfume while Eau de Toilette is the most commonly worn. 2 – Try it on your skin. I know all the assistants like to spray them on different paper strips but since every person’s skin pH is unique you won’t get the true aroma unless you let the fragrance seep through your skin. 3 – Give it time. It takes around five minutes to smell the initial aura of the fragrance and about 20 minutes to get to the full picture, so to speak.

4 – Take a small jar of coffee beans with you when you are shopping for perfume. All those perfumes can get overpowering. Test the perfumes on your arms and to neutralize your senses every now and then, smell the coffee beans. 5 – Go outside. The aromatic oils in perfumes react to heat and your surroundings so go outside and get used to the scent on your skin. If you are in an air conditioned room you might not get the real sense of how the perfume reacts on your skin.

I hope you find your true scent soon. See you next month….. Ann Visit www.wedobling.com. See a range of our jewellery, keyfinders, diamante bra straps and handbag hangers in either A.I.D. or The Wardrobe, Alhaurin el Grande or CHAIN, La Trocha, Coin.

He Lost It In The Sun (Arizona, 2001) (Pending Confirmation ) A 60-year-old RC plane enthusiast was killed after being struck by his own model airplane near the Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, Arizona while he was still piloting it. According to witnesses, the man lost track of the model in the bright morning glare. Still at the controls, he was struck in the chest by the six pound plane at roughly 40 mph and died shortly thereafter. Man v food Food wins Russia, 2009 (Confirmed true by Darwin) The winner of a pancake-eating contest has dropped dead while accepting his prize for gorging on 43 of the banana and cream stuffed desserts.

The contest, which took place in the town of Chernyakhovsk, was part of festivities to celebrate Maslenitsa, the last week before the period of Lent starts. According to local traditions, meat, fish, dairy products and eggs are forbidden during Lent, as well as dancing and parties. Witnesses described Mr Isayev as "the most active participant in the contest" adding that he "ate all the types of pancakes on offer and won fairly". The witness added: "He had really enjoyed the pancakes but then he started foaming at the mouth and went down like a sack of stones. "People have fainted during the contests before." Medics tried to revive Mr Isayev after he collapsed while collecting his prize on stage. The exact cause of death is not clear but doctors believe he choked after a piece of pancake got lodged in his throat. Celebrations are said to have continued after Mr Isayev's body was taken away in an ambulance.

TAKING A CHILD OVERSEAS AFTER A DIVORCE By Reyes Gomez, Lawyer with De Cotta Law in Nerja Following separation or divorce of residents in Spain, there is significant potential for conflict when one of the parents wishes to take the a child to live with them overseas, for example back to the UK. This matter must be managed with great care in order to avoid committing a criminal act If a parent plans to move to live with the children in another country, be aware that this requires the agreement and consent of the other parent. This permission must be obtained unequivocally, and ideally in writing, to avoid conflict should the other party change their mind. In cases where it is not possible to obtain the other parent's consent amicably, then the permission must sought in court. OBTAINING CONSENT In short, a parent needs the permission of the other parent or a Court Order to take a child permanently abroad. To maximise the chances of success with the court granting custody and permission to take the child overseas, the case must be professionally prepared. It is important to establish a system for visitation, so that theother parent can have access to the child for a length of time that reflects the geographical distance between them. If the dispute is not legally settled in court, then taking the child overseas without consent and a court order, without establishing regular visitation rights for the other parent, is a criminal act, considered child abduction or kidnapping. CHILD KIDNAPPING If the child is taken abroad without consent, the other party can commence legal proceedings requesting the return of the child under the Hague Convention of October 25, 1989 on Civil Aspects of International ChildConvention of October 25, 1989 on Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.

Under this law, it is likely that you and your child will be forced to return to Spain, and a formal application must be made for custody of the child and a decision upon place of residence. During this legal conflict both parents and the child must stay in Spain. When considering an application for a court order, or to challenge a court order, the most important consideration is the welfare of the child: their new home life, education, visitation access and regular access to both parents as these will be the issues that the court will take into account. PROFESSIONAL ADVICE Therefore it is highly recommended to seek permission and address any potential conflict before leaving Spain with the child. Reaching an agreement may cause a delay in departure, but will in the long term lead to a much more stable and amicable solution. Yellow Weevils are phytophagous (plant-eating) tiny beetles that do enormous damage to growing plants and stored grains. There are more than 40,000 known species of weevils. The mouthparts of a typical weevil are formed into a long snout. There is an antenna on each side of the snout. In a number of species, the snout is longer than the body, which seldom grows to half an inch (13 mm) in length. A weevil’s snout, or nose, is curved downward so that it can bore into plants. At the end of the long snout are the weevil’s mouth parts that chew fruits, seeds, and other plant parts. They use the snout to chew deep into a host plant. Antennae are elbowed and attached to the snout about halfway along its length. The snout is used not only for feeding but also for making cavities in which the eggs are laid in plant buds, fruits, seeds, stems, and roots of plants. Different kinds of weevils have different kinds of snout shapes. Each shape is adapted to eating certain plants or parts of plants. For example, the female nut weevil’s snout is often longer than its body. It needs a long snout to bore through the hard shell of a nut and to lay its eggs inside. When the grubs (larvae) emerge, they feed within the plant parts. Infested fruits fall from the trees, or become stunted, scarred, or wormy, and are generally unfit to eat. Buds and seeds are destroyed by weevils and their larvae, and plants are weakened by their attacks. They are hard-bodied insects with tough, thick exoskeletons. They possess two pairs of wings; the front pair is thickened to form a hard covering called elytra. When weevils are not flying, the elytra are held over the back to form a protective covering. The membranous hind wings are used for flight and fold under the elytra when not in use. Starthistle weevils are univoltine, meaning they complete one generation per year. The adult overwinters in protected areas on the ground and become active the following spring. Thus, the first weevils seen in the spring are from the overwintering generation and the new weevils

that emerge mid- to late summer are from the new generation. As adults, weevils generally cause little damage to the plant. They may do some feeding of the foliage, but the amount is usually negligible. The exception is the hairy weevil (E. villosus) which feeds on starthistle buds, often killing the bud. For most of the insects, however, it is the internally-feeding juvenile stage, or larva, that causes damage. Larvae undergo three molts (or instars) during their development inside the starthistle head. The weevil overwinters in the adult stage in hibernation in trash and duff around host trees. Adults emerge from hibernation in early spring, about mid-March. Overwintering weevils feed on the lower surfaces of leaves, removing small circular or oblong patches of leaf surface. Mating occurs and females lay eggs in leaf midribs on the under surface. Most egg laying occurs from late March through April, but some oviposition continues through May. The female punctures the midrib with her snout and then turns and deposits one to three eggs (usually two) in the puncture. Normally, there are four or five punctures at each oviposition site and usually only one site per leaf. Midrib tissue dies and the leaf often breaks at the egg-laying site. Eggs hatch and larval mines begin to appear in leaves around the first of April. The primary period of larval activity extends to about mid-May. Larvae feed side by side in groups in a common mine leading away from the midrib. Extensive mining may destroy entire leaves. Full-grown larvae pupate in silken, spherical cocoons in larval mines. New-brood adults begin to appear during the first half of May. They feed primarily on the under surface of leaves, as did parent adults, but may also feed on the upper surface. Typically, new weevils feed in groups, with feeding commonly beginning at leaf margins in the apical portion of the leaf. Feeding by new-brood adults may be extensive, and damage to foliage may be severe. New weevils are active for about four weeks; activity usually ceases by mid-June. Adults move to trash and duff near host trees and remain inactive until the following spring. Only one generation occurs each year.

However, keep moving the image in and out, relaxing, and it will appear. Look at the Reflection You'll need to LOOK at something about twice the distance of the image. It turns out we have something that is almost always available that is the exact distance... your reflection. By looking at your reflection, this will help, if not put the book one side of a glass door enough to let you see your reflection.then... After looking at your eye, simply stop focusing on your eye, and try to see the image. Repeat, switching your focus from your eye to the image, and your reflection... and suddenly you will get it.

Golf Jokes A husband and wife are on the 9th green when suddenly she collapses from a heart attack! "Help me dear," she groans to her husband. The husband calls 911 on his cell phone, talks for a few minutes, picks up his putter, and lines up his putt. His wife raises her head off the green and stares at him. "I'm dying here and you're putting?" "Don't worry dear," says the husband calmly, "they found a cardiologist on the second hole and he's coming to help you." "Well, how long will it take for him to get here?" she asks feebly. "No time at all," says her husband. "Everybody's already agreed to let him play through."

Reporter at a loss A gushy reporter told Phil Mickelson, "You are spectacular, your name is synonymous with the game of golf. You really know your way around the course. What's your secret?" Mickelson replied, "The holes are numbered." Priest that doesn’t follow the rules A young man and a priest are playing together. At a short par-3 the priest asks, "What are you going to use on this hole, my son?" The young man says, "An 8-iron, Father. How about you?" The priest says, "I'm going to hit a soft seven and pray." The young man hits his 8-iron and puts the ball on the green. The priest tops his 7-iron and dribbles the ball out a few yards.

The young man says, "I don't know about you, Father, but in my church, when we pray, we keep our head down." Woman claims a free shot Police are called to an apartment and find a woman, holding a bloody 5-iron, standing over a lifeless man. The detective asks, "Ma'am, is that your husband?" "Yes" says the woman. "Did you hit him with that golf club?" "Yes, yes, I did." The woman begins to sob, drops the club, and puts her hands on her face. "How many times did you hit him?" "I don't know -- five, six, maybe seven times -- just put me down for a five." Are you a good golfer A golfer teed up his ball on the first tee, took a mighty swing and hit his ball into a clump of trees. He found his ball and saw an opening between two trees he thought he could hit through. Taking out his 3-wood, he took a mighty swing. The ball hit a tree, bounced back, hit him in the forehead and killed him.

As he approached the gates of Heaven, St. Peter asked, "Are you a good golfer?" The man replied: "Got here in two, didn't I?" Jesus & Tiger Woods Jesus and Tiger Woods were playing golf. It's Arnold's turn to tee off, and he does so on a long par five. It's a great drive straight up the fairway, and he's about a seven iron off the green. "Not bad," Jesus says. Jesus then steps up to tee off, and He too hits a great shot, but it's not anywhere near as close as Wood's first shot. Just as the ball comes to a stop, a gopher pops out of its hole, grabs Jesus' ball in its mouth and starts to run up the fairway. Before it can get even twenty feet yards, an eagle swoops down out of the heavens and grabs the gopher in its mouth and flies off towards the green. Just as the ball, eagle, and gopher get above the hole, a lightning bolt strikes out of a cloudless sky and vaporizes both the eagle and the gopher. The ball drops straight down into the hole for a hole-in-one. Jesus looks up and says, "Dad! Please! I'd rather do it myself!

The Summer is here and how, those temperatures have arrived in the 30s and even the 40s. It is also now the time for those Bar B Q and Beach parties as well as the local fiestas and the music well that gets as diverse as you can think of. We always play a game looking for what might be the feria song each year, this year hmm not so sure but there is one track that could be absolutely brilliant for a fiesta. The Band Train have a single” 50 ways to say goodbye” which is taken from their huge album California 37 has been doing really well and still high in the UK charts. The track has a fantastic Latin feel to it and really suits this time of year. If you haven’t heard the album yet it is certainly worth a listen with a great range of music and of course also features the previous single ”Drive By” which picked up loads of plays on Heart. Another album worth listening to has to be “Overexposed” by Maroon 5 which has shown how the band have developed into a really strong act mixing there sound with people such as Christina Aguillera and Khalifa on both of their recent singles Want a bit of history – OK a couple of albums are currently on the UK charts- the first is the Bee Gees Number 1s which has already been on the charts for over 30 weeks. With the sad passing of Robin Gibb stands every chance of staying on the chart for a very long time. The album is a collection of all of the bands Number 1originally released in 2004. It includes 18 of their greatest hits and was a tribute to band member Maurice Gibb, who died in 2003. It is the final Bee Gees album released by Universal Records. The Album was re-released worldwide in 2008 using a different European track listing. If you’re a true Bee Gees Fan you will probably have all of the tracks already but this is a way of having all of them on one album. How about this for a collection of musical feel good moments Fleetwood Mac “The Chain 25yrs” This 4-CD box set contains tracks from each phase of Fleetwood Mac's development, from their earliest days as a roots blues band (featuring the great guitar soloist Peter Green), to their emergence as one of the best 70s pop bands (with the arrival of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks ) through to their latest

incarnation. It includes previously unreleased material, rare B-sides, live tracks, alternate takes, 4 new songs, and a 68-page booklet with notes, photos and a complete discography. As I say a bit of musical history in a box. Hope this gives you an idea of a couple of things to listen out for and enjoy take care keep drinking the water and locked on to Heart fm Spain on 96.1 – www.heartfmspain.com and via I tunes
