duraÇÃo duration: 60 min classificaÇÃo indicatiVa: 12 anos Parental rating: 12 Dancer, choreagrapher and performer, Dudude, began her dance studies in the 70s. in 1992, she created the benvinda cia. de Dança company in the city of belo Horizonte, which performed until 2007. Former ministry of culture grant recipient for her project entitled Virtuose 2000, she has renounced her surname and goes only by the name Dudude in her show, A Projetista, a solo piece. this piece is her first work following the closing of activity at her dance studio and of her company.

if examining its Latin roots, the verb “projetar” means “to throw out, to throw far from oneself”. but in its current usage, it can signify both the exhibition of a film on a movie screen or a theatre actor making his/her voice heard in the back of a theatre, conveying as well the ideas of formulating, plannning and calculating something. the ambiguous charcter of the word is put into play in A Projetista. in it, Dudude’s theme is the condition of the current-day dancer: beyond dancing, projects must be realized; to have ideas, put them down on paper, fund them, make them concrete.

in this solo, Dudude appears onstage as a mature artist who projects herself into the future and tries to fulfill her desires while confronting current standards through notices, incentive laws, forms, etc.

bailarina, coreógrafa e performer, Dudude iniciou seus estudos de dança nos anos 1970. Em 1992, criou na capital mineira a benvinda cia. de Dança, que funcionou até 2007. Ex-bolsista do ministério da cultura com o projeto Virtuose 2000, ela agora abdica do sobrenome e apresenta-se apenas como Dudude no solo A Projetista. trata-se de seu primeiro trabalho depois de encerrar as atividades de seu estúdio de dança e de sua companhia.

se em sua origem latina o verbo projetar significa “jogar para fora, atirar para longe”, em seu uso atual ele vale tanto para a ação de exibir um filme sobre uma tela de cinema quanto para o ator de teatro que deve lançar sua voz em direção à plateia, contendo ainda os significados de idealizar, planejar, calcular. o caráter polissêmico da palavra é posto em evidência em A Projetista. Nele, Dudude tematiza a condição do bailarino hoje em dia: além de dançar, é preciso fazer projetos, ter ideias, colocá-las no papel, financiá-las, executá-las.

Neste solo-monólogo, Dudude coloca-se em cena como uma artista em sua maturidade, que se projeta para o futuro e tenta realizar seus desejos diante das normas vigentes, em meio à logica de editais, leis de incentivo, formulários etc.
