OUTLAW COULEE RANCH

We would like to welcome you all to our third annual bull sale that we will be hosting here at the ranch, seven kilometres south of Eastend, SK. We would like to thank everyone for the support in last year’s sale, thanks to everyone who bought bulls, bid on bulls and showed interest in our program. We are excited to offer another great set of bulls this year. This year is special to the Richardson family farm marking 100 years of operation by a member of our family. 1925-2025

We run our operation with the philosophy that my grade 10 teacher drilled into us, the KISS method KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. Following this method we run our purebred cows the same way as our commercial cows. We turn our bulls out July 8 for 60 days and put embryos into recips to calve at the same time. We wean all calves the first week of November, pregnancy test cows and sell all drys and cull for all foot and udder issues at this time. The bull calves are fed cut hay and 6 pounds of pellets till May then turned out on grass till early November and then fed cut hay and 7 pounds of pellets till sale day. The bulls on offer are responsibly developed to promote structural soundness and to provide a bull that will be ready to go out and breed your cows.

We would like to welcome everyone to our 3rd Annual Bull Sale with Outlaw Coulee. We are excited to share our 2-year-old bull pen with you, in which we believe that there is something in the offering for everyone. There are calving ease and performance bulls, as well as many paternal brothers for those looking to put together a consistent set of herd bulls.

Our offering this year is a little smaller, as we have been strict with culling to ensure the integrity and quality of our bulls will meet our customer’s needs. This group of bulls consists of mostly natural bred calves out of herd bulls which we have acquired through extensive research as we had taken a year off of AI and Embryo transplanting and wanted to ensure the quality of our calf crop was not affected.

Feel free to give us a shout or stop by to view the bulls at the ranch any time before the sale. We will move the bulls down to Outlaw Coulee on Sunday and welcome you to come check them out the day before the sale if you would like to have an extra look. Rito 802 came to us in dam from Johnson Livestock, we purchased his full brother in Johnson Livestock’s 2015 bull sale as a featured high seller and we lost him after his first year breeding, so when the opportunity came up to purchase his dam JL Emblynette 2213 bred to calve with a full brother we jumped on it. Rito 802 stands on an excellent foot, is an aggressive breeder and sires efficient progeny.

A unique breeding sire that is as maternally bred as you will find. A go to sire for making replacement females that will carry spring of rib and wide pins and beautiful front ends. The sons are correct and balanced.

OCC LEGACY 839L

Legacy is 24 years old this year and is still a highly sought after breeding bull. Tough, durable cattle that are extremely sound. As maternal of a pedigree as you can make and become the back bone of the Bowerman program years ago.

SKULL CREEK 3 YEAR WARRANTY PROGRAM

Skull Creek Ranches guarantees to sell a bull to pass a semen test prior to the 2025 breeding season. Should any bull purchased from us during the sale fail to be satisfactory to breed, or be unable to physically service a cow, he will be replaced with a bull in equal value. If this is not possible you will be issued a credit towards the purchase of another bull. However, warranty will not be provided for mismanagement.

Credits will be determined as followed:

1St Breeding Season: Purchase Price of bull – $2000 or Salvage Value x 90%

2nd Breeding Season: Purchase Price – $2000 or Salvage Value x 60%

3rd Breeding Season: Purchase Price – $2000 or Salvage Value x 30%

Example: Purchase Price $5000 – Salvage Value $2000 x 90% = $2700 credit *100% credit to be applied to bulls who are injured or unable to breed prior to the 2025 breeding season.

We purchased Rocco as the high seller in the Blairs Ag Pursuit of Excellence sale as a two-year old in 2020. It was easy for us to see that he was going to add some pounds to our calves, while pursuing many of the great maternal traits that his dam, BAR-E-L Erica 74A would have to offer. We have used Rocco aggressively in our program naturally, as well as an Embryo and AI Sire over the past two breeding seasons. His first daughters will be calving shortly and are dropping down beautiful udders.

We purchased SAV Currency from Schaff Angus Valley in 2019 as the high selling SAV Cutting Edge son. He is a big-time performance bull. His dam was a major factor in our selection, a model Angus female. She is perfect uddered, good footed and has a gentle disposition.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, or previously arranged financing. Settlement is to be made following the completion of the sale, to the clerks of the sale. Animals will not be released until settlement is made. All monies are in Canadian funds.

DISPUTES: Bidding will be re-opened between the parties involved in a dispute. If there is no advance by either party, the buyer will be the person from which the auctioneer received the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision is final in these cases.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: All announcements made from the block will take precedence over any printed material from the catalogue. Therefore buyers should pay close attention for such announcements.

BREEDING GUARANTEE: All cattle are sold as sound and right and sell with a “Responsible Breeder’s Guarantee of Satis- faction”. In the unlikely event of a dispute, the regular sale terms and conditions, standard with the Canadian Angus Association shall apply.

SOUNDNESS EVALUATION: All bulls will have passed evaluation for physical & reproductive soundness by a veterinarian. All bulls will be semen tested prior to delivery and will have be accompanied, at time of delivery, by a semen certificate that meets or exceeds the CAA standard of 70% .

RISK: Ownership risk to the purchaser commences when the auctioneers hammer falls. Insurance is available sale day.

LIABILITIES: All people attending the sale do so at their own risk. Although every precaution will be made to ensure the safety and protection of both buyer and the livestock, the auctioneer and the sellers accept no responsibility in this matter and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of an accident or loss of property.

RIGHTS & OBLIGATIONS: The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following the sale constitute a separate transaction and releases the original seller from their obligation.
