Ian Doubtfire continued: “This is an exciting time for us regarding flights to Glasgow. In just two months since we started flights to our newest base we have launched

five new routes from Spain and also increased capacity from others – this further demonstrates the importance of the Spanish market and the need for connections to and from Glasgow and Scotland. These routes of course are perfect for holiday makers from Scotland but are also very well received by our customers living in Spain. We hope this will appeal to both ex pats who wish to get back to Scotland to visit friends and family and also to Spanish passengers who want to try a short break in a fantastic city” Glasgow is a fantastic city which has undergone a transformation over the years and now offers an exciting mix of buzzing Scottish city life, Mackintosh architecture and the arts. Denise Hill, VisitScotland’s Head of International Marketing, said: “These new Jet2.com routes from Spain to Glasgow present fantastic opportunities both for short breaks in this wonderful city but also provide a gateway for longer touring holidays throughout Scotland that incorporate some of our iconic scenery in locations such as the Trossachs and the Highlands. The special haggis paella was made by head chef Alberto Juarez Castillo and combined haggis with paella rice, chopped tomatoes, peppers and onions, plus saffron and seasoning. The paella was taste tested by Jet2.com Glasgow team members Lesley-Ann Ferguson, Andrew Marshall and Paul O’Hara. Lesley said: “I thought haggis and paella was a bit of an unusual combination but when I had some it tasted great – the mild spices in the haggis really complemented the flavours in the paella.”
