Your Tributes, recollections, and well wishes, verbal, tangible and spiritual through Prayers, are testimony to the fact that, in Eternity, long before the foundation of the world, God set for a plan and a purpose for the life and legacy of Bishop Joseph Alexander Zonicle that was to shape the very foundation of our Country and reverberate into the global community. Over 102 years, the culmination of his Life showed us all the excellence and magnificence that awaits each of us if we too have the courage to walk boldly in our Divine Destiny.

He was “my Joe!” As Husband, he was my Love, my Companion, my Covering. I know his partnership, his leadership, his parenting, his pastorship, his friendship, his service, his character. He showed us how to love in the face of hate; fight in the face of adversity; how to walk courageously in the face of fear; forgive in the face of betrayal and derision. His voice will never fade from my ears, or, in the consciousness of others.

His memory will never fade from any of our hearts.

I would like to express my humble gratitude and sincere appreciation to those who, in one way or another, provided my family and I with the support and prayers that have comforted us in our time of sorrow. Your prayers and most especially your presence, in coming to see us, in attending the Memorial and Official Services to celebrate Joe’s Life, have meant the world to us.

Joe was my world and this has been one of the most difficult losses that I have ever had to manage. Although my family and I are still mourning, our spirits are lifted knowing that Joe will always be remembered and loved by so very many of you.

I ask that you keep each of us in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to navigate this time of challenge and new beginnings. May you accept the challenge to perpetuate Joe’s spirit of faith and love in your life and the lives of all you touch.
