I have been playing The Sims for over a decade now. I remember being glued to the family desktop when the original Sims came out. My addiction continued to grow when The Sims 2 came out, and even more so with The Sims 3! I adore this game so much. When I was younger I would play the PlayStation 2 version of The Sims 2 with my brother. I really enjoyed the direct control and story mode aspect of the game. There's also some really cool objects featured in the game. About three years ago I picked The Sims 2 Console back up and began playing it on my computer with the Game Cube emulator Dolphin. Taking some time to rediscover this wonderful game, I had come across a YouTube video of someone going by the name of MrZeratheMant speed-running it. I was so fascinated by the idea that I also began to do that myself. This led me to really understand the console game more and and experience it in a way that I never had before. With my knowledge of the game I started editing the Sims-wiki to update information, this was my stepping stone into joining the Sims Community for the first time. Eventually, I got back into playing The Sims 2 PC version of the game and saw all the amazing custom content people have done. Whether that was conversion from The Sims 4 or The Sims 3 and put them into The Sims 2, amazing! I searched and searched and realised this wasn't quite the case for console conversions. I decided to start learning how to extract console models and textures so I could bring this lovely game to the PC world, but not just for The Sims 2. My ultimate goal is to convert as much as I can to The Sims 2, 3 and 4! I don't want anyone to miss out. I haven't done much yet, but there will be more to come.
I created a blog on Tumblr to document my progress and use it as a console conversion database, but I am not strictly just that. I will also convert stuff from The Sims 1, 3 and The Sims 4 sometimes.
Here's the blog! https:// madraynesims.tumblr.com/ So far, I have converted quite a few sets of console flooring, did a recreation of Annie Howell from The Sims 2 PSP, Mimi Landgraab and an edit of her chair from The Sims Bustin' Out, Betty Buttercup and her fox accessory, and Helga Mandrake from The Sims 2 Console. I've also done a dress from The Sims 4 and a cute little painting with some art that can be seen from The Sims 2: Pets Console. The console wallpaper shown, Athena sculpture, and Helga has not been released yet. Coming soon!
