e are now in the third year of a global pandemic. We no longer only eat, sleep, and make memories in our homes; many people now work from home too. Creating a living space that is comfortable yet stylish is more important these days than it has ever been. Most people desire a space that reflects who they are while remaining chic. No matter how you choose to decorate, there is no denying the importance of creating a positive environment in your home. Designing a space that you love enough to spend long periods in determines how you feel.

Interior design trends are constantly changing. Some of these changes are minor, while others are a little more difficult to keep up with. The interior design trends this year are not much different than last year. “We work with classics and add fresh touches, so a new calendar year doesn’t change a lot for us,” explains Sara Noble of Noble Designs. “Over the last couple of years, we have seen a move to warm creams versus cooler grays.” Noble continues, “We are seeing saturated colors, more streamlined designs, and technology making a big play in design this year.”
Homes are becoming more and more high tech. People are adding smart thermostats, smart locks, and video doorbells. Today people even have access to do-it-yourself security systems. Noble also mentioned the rise in mixed metals. “Many of the new plumbing fixtures shown at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show this month were mixing two metals like stainless steel and brass,” she explains. “Traditional style is making a strong comeback,” Noble says. “A little granny fabric that’s been updated with new colorways can be really fun.
