THE RECREATION OF CITY KIDS (R.O.C.K.) AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM OFFERS: A Safe And Nurturing Environment; Homework Assistance and Enrichments; and Recreation and STEAM Activities
Program Information R.O.C.K. is available Monday-Friday on school campuses from the time school is dismissed until 6 p.m., except school holidays, breaks, and in-service days. Payment Options R.O.C.K. payment options include a one-time payment in full or quarterly or monthly auto pay. A Punch Pass for 10 site visits to R.O.C.K. will also be available for students. Please contact your local community center for information about scholarship opportunities. R.O.C.K. Afterschool is a license-exempt program.

Little Learners (Noble) Children will be introduced to socialization, positive self-esteem, following directions, and simple learning concepts. Children will work on hand eye coordination and motor skills, while gaining independence through the use of circle time, music, songs, stories, play, arts and crafts. Food will be provided for cooking activities and may be provided for special events. Requirements for parents participation will vary by center. Children must be able to use the rest room unassisted. Kinder Prep This class prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills and fun. Your child will gain understanding of shapes, colors, pre-phonics, literacy building (i.e. identifying letter sounds, writing the alphabet and simple words), number recognition, and counting to to 30. The goal is to have fun, participate, and learn. Requirements for parent participation will vary by center. Children must be able to use the rest room unassisted. PUBLIC SPEAKING, WRITING AND DEBATES CAMP This course teaches young students the essentials of building confidence in public speaking. Taught using the fun concepts of (don’t) show and tell, storytelling (scary and funny stories!), reciting poems, pretend games, this is an excellent class to start developing confidence in young students in a fun way. The participants learn how to stand tall and speak confidently in front of a group. They begin to understand the concepts and importance of maintaining eye contact, good posture, volume and expressions.

BEGINNING GOLF CAMP
TRACK & FIELD CAMP
Campers will learn the fundamentals of swinging, putting, body positioning, etiquette and keeping score. The program is specifically designed for the entry-level player, simplifying instruction so that young players can make an easy and effective transition onto the golf course.
The fundamentals of body positioning, stride, proper stretching and cool-down techniques are taught. Track and field events include javelin, discus, shot put, hurdles, long jump, triple jump and various running and relay events

TENNIS CAMP Grab your tennis racket and get ready to play! Whether your child is a beginning or intermediate player, this program will improve their game and help them get more enjoyment from tennis. This multi-sport program was developed to give 4 to 7 year-olds a positive first step into athletics. Sports are taught in a safe, structured environment filled with encouragement and fun.
