Policies ALL ACCESS SPORTS AND RECREATION Specialized Programs All Access Sports and Recreation (AASR) provides a wide range of programs for individuals of all ages with all ability levels, including those with ambulatory and cognitive disabilities. Examples of programs, camps and special events offered by AASR include: adapted golf, power soccer, advanced wheelchair basketball, diabetes camp, cooperative dances, fiesta educative conference, group arts, healthy teens, cooking class, play camps, Junior Sports Camp and sports for all. Music Beginning and Continuing Piano Spring (SJG Music) Combo Beginning and Continuing Piano and Keyboards Music This special hybrid class is for beginning and continuing piano students. Beginners will be taught the basics of playing music on the piano/ keyboard. Time will be allowed for limited one- on -one instruction for the continuing students Topics include: basic notes, rhythm and theory as well as finger exercises, chords and scales with the goal of being able to play basic keyboard accompaniment parts and fun songs. Sports Mini Gym Stars (DANCE ARTS ACADEMY) A great beginner gymnastic class teaching basic gymnastic skills, including movement exploration, balance, and coordination, and at the same time teaching agility and improving motor skills. Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a great recital. *Wear a leotard, stretch pants, sweat pants, or shorts. Bare feet during class is suggested. Children should secure long hair back in a ponytail.*
Basketball Skills and Games (RBA) These classes are designed for all skill levels from the beginner to the hoops veteran. Emphasis remains building basic basketball skills in offense and defense through fun exercises. Team concepts are presented in games and scrimmages to give students a strong foundation while moving to the game level. Please be sure your child wears proper clothes and shoes (no boots or open toed shoes, and bring a water bottle, seasonal fruit to be eaten at the end of class, and a small towel.

All Access-Therapeutics Brief overview
Inclusive Line Dancing

This play program is designed for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Children should bring a sack lunch to class each week. Attendants will be required to pass a City of San Jose background check in programs that serve youth under 18 years of age. Urban Explorers Get out and explore! This is a walking club directed towards teen and young adults with disabilities. Each week, we will meet at the Roosevelt Community Center and travel using public transportation to different trails, museums, festival, and parks in the area. SUMMER CAMPS Adapted Cooking Camp (Therapeutics) Adaptive Cooking Camp is a new camp that will teach teens with developmental disabilities to learn basic kitchen safety, basic menu planning, and preparing simple dishes. The menus during the week will include breakfast, lunch, dinners, and deserts. Camp will include lecture, observation, and hands on preparation. Participants must be able to function in a 1:4 staff to participant ratio, and independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant for personal care. Ocean Life Pastels Workshop (Young Rembrandts) Ocean Life - Five, fun-filled days await our students as we explore ocean life as they learn to draw and color with pastels. We will create detailed, pastel compositions on each day, focusing on a different ocean-themed subject. We will draw eye-catching sea stars along the shoreline and a pair of vibrant clown fish. We will illustrate a sea turtle with bold patterns, a blue crab and a wondrous scene of jellyfish. Our instruction will bring remarkable results, and you will want to head to the frame shop with your child’s finished pastel pieces. Everybody loves camp! This camp is designed for children with disabilities who need a higher level of staff assistance for participation including those with Autism Spectrum disorder. Activities will include arts and crafts, games, circle time, and possibly a field trip. The goals of this program include: increased leisure skills, improved fine motor skills, decreased isolation, and community/friendship building. Children should bring a sack lunch to camp each day. Participants must be able to function in a 1:3 staff to child ratio and be independent with personal care needs or bring an attendant with them. SUMMER CAMPS Sewing Camp (American Sewing Guild) Sew Camp offers an introduction to the art of sewing, conducted by volunteers from the American Sewing Guild-San Jose Chapter. Participants will have a coach to guide them through the workings of a sewing machine and how to use it to sew various pre-cut items, including a T-shirt, pajama pants, a small tote and a draw string bag. If these items are completed several other fun projects will be offered as time permits. Students will receive a basic sewing tool kit, a comprehensive notebook containing project instructions and more, and a daily snack. The last day of camp, at 11:30 there will be a student Fashion Show which family members are invited to attend. Daily attendance and timely arrival are required.
