Policies ALL ACCESS SPORTS AND RECREATION Specialized Programs All Access Sports and Recreation (AASR) provides a wide range of programs for individuals of all ages with all ability levels, including those with ambulatory and cognitive disabilities. Examples of programs, camps and special events offered by AASR include: adapted golf, power soccer, advanced wheelchair basketball, diabetes camp, cooperative dances, fiesta educative conference, group arts, healthy teens, cooking class, play camps, Junior Sports Camp and sports for all. Paper Arts and Crafts (April and May) Students will explore and experiment with paper! We will have a variety of arts and crafts including pop-up cards, paper mache, collages, and other crafts! Fundamentals of Drawing (YOUNG REMBRANDTS) "In this class students learn basic to advanced drawing skills. We give students the skills to express their creativity, enhance their drawing abilities, expand image vocabulary words and much more. Each week a fresh new lesson is taught with different components of art in a step by step methodology. Students will learn a dance routine to perform for family and friends. Music Beginning and Continuing Piano Spring (SJG Music) Combo Beginning and Continuing Piano and Keyboards Music This special hybrid class is for beginning and continuing piano students. Beginners will be taught the basics of playing music on the piano/ keyboard. Time will be allowed for limited one- on -one instruction for the continuing students Topics include: basic notes, rhythm and theory as well as finger exercises, chords and scales with the goal of being able to play basic keyboard accompaniment parts and fun songs. Keyboards will be provided for students in class. Students will need a keyboard at home for practice **There is an additional $10 fee for materials payable to the instructor in class.** Course#

Beginning Youth Guitar Spring (SJG Music) This fun and educational class is for the absolute beginner guitarist. Students will be introduced to the basics of guitar playing and music fundamentals by learning fun, contemporary songs. Topics include tuning, chord strumming, "power" chording, blues and the fundamentals of note and rhythm reading ** Students will need to have their own acoustic guitar or electric guitar. Sports Mini Gym Stars (DANCE ARTS ACADEMY) A great beginner gymnastic class teaching basic gymnastic skills, including movement exploration, balance, and coordination, and at the same time teaching agility and improving motor skills. Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a great recital. *Wear a leotard, stretch pants, sweat pants, or shorts. Bare feet during class is suggested. Children should secure long hair back in a ponytail.*

Basketball Skills and Games (RBA) These classes are designed for all skill levels from the beginner to the hoops veteran. Emphasis remains building basic basketball skills in offense and defense through fun exercises. Team concepts are presented in games and scrimmages to give students a strong foundation while moving to the game level. Please be sure your child wears proper clothes and shoes (no boots or open toed shoes, and bring a water bottle, seasonal fruit to be eaten at the end of class, and a small towel.

Tumble Bugs (CLAP ARTS) This class safely introduces basic gymnastics balances, rolls, springs and rotations while also developing a dance foundation. Children improve motor skills and coordination in a playful atmosphere. Beginning dance moves help develop rhythm, spatial awareness and self-confidence. A variety of props add to the fun! All Access-Therapeutics Brief overview

Inclusive Line Dancing

This play program is designed for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Children should bring a sack lunch to class each week. Participants must be able to function in a 1 to 3 staff to participant ratio and independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant for personal care. Attendants will be required to pass a City of San Jose background check in programs that serve youth under 18 years of age. Program location is at Seven Trees Community Center 3590 Cas Dr, San Jose, CA 95111. There will be no meeting on May 23rd, 2020 in observation of Memorial Day. Course#

Urban Explorers Get out and explore! This is a walking club directed towards teen and young adults with disabilities. Each week, we will meet at the Roosevelt Community Center and travel using public transportation to different trails, museums, festival, and parks in the area. San Jose has a lot to offer it urban dwelling explorers. We'll learn about our unique community settings while meeting new friends and getting a little exercise. SUMMER CAMPS Adapted Cooking Camp (Therapeutics) Adaptive Cooking Camp is a new camp that will teach teens with developmental disabilities to learn basic kitchen safety, basic menu planning, and preparing simple dishes. The menus during the week will include breakfast, lunch, dinners, and deserts. Camp will include lecture, observation, and hands on preparation. Participants must be able to function in a 1:4 staff to participant ratio, and independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant for personal care. Ocean Life Pastels Workshop (Young Rembrandts) Ocean Life - Five, fun-filled days await our students as we explore ocean life as they learn to draw and color with pastels. We will create detailed, pastel compositions on each day, focusing on a different ocean-themed subject. We will draw eye-catching sea stars along the shoreline and a pair of vibrant clown fish. We will illustrate a sea turtle with bold patterns, a blue crab and a wondrous scene of jellyfish. Everybody loves camp! This camp is designed for children with disabilities who need a higher level of staff assistance for participation including those with Autism Spectrum disorder. Activities will include arts and crafts, games, circle time, and possibly a field trip. The goals of this program include: increased leisure skills, improved fine motor skills, decreased isolation, and community/friendship building. Children should bring a sack lunch to camp each day. SUMMER CAMPS Sewing Camp (American Sewing Guild) Sew Camp offers an introduction to the art of sewing, conducted by volunteers from the American Sewing Guild-San Jose Chapter. Participants will have a coach to guide them through the workings of a sewing machine and how to use it to sew various pre-cut items, including a T-shirt, pajama pants, a small tote and a draw string bag. If these items are completed several other fun projects will be offered as time permits. Students will receive a basic sewing tool kit, a comprehensive notebook containing project instructions and more, and a daily snack. The last day of camp, at 11:30 there will be a student Fashion Show which family members are invited to attend. Daily attendance and timely arrival are required.
