ART START (CHILD ONLY)

Explore five art stations with a different theme each week. Children engage in age-appropriate projects at their own pace and in their own way. Each class will end on a musical note with singing and dancing. Aprons are provided but wear your grubbies. All art materials are included in the price of class. *This is a parent/guardian participation class. **No Classes February 20th**

DANCE MINI GYM STARS A great beginner gymnastic class teaching basic gymnastic skills, including movement exploration, balance, and coordination, and at the same time teaching agility and improving motor skills. DANCE 18+ SQUARE DANCING Square Dancing is lots of fun. In addition this activity has all of the elements of a healthy life style! Enjoy the light aerobic exercise, the mental stimulation of learning a new skill and the pleasure of making new friends. The caller sings directions set to music and the eight dancers in the square act as a team to complete the calls. No special dress is required; just wear comfortable non-marking shoes. Effective November 26, 2018, all children 18 months to 5 years of age enrolled in San Jose Recreation Preschool are required to show proof of immunizations. Requirements for a parent participation, volunteer, snack, etc. varies by center. Teacher to child ratio is 1:10 or better. Participants must be toilet trained by the first day of program. Non-registered children are not allowed in the class at any time. Please make arrangements for siblings on your participation day. A birth certificate may be requested for age confirmations. The City of San Jose, Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services provide recreational programs ONLY and not licensed childcare. After reaching the class capacity your child can be put on a waitlist. If a spot becomes available at any SJ Recreation Preschool center, you will receive a call and be given the option to enroll at that center or to stay on the waiting list.

This class prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills and fun.
