Gardening for Beginners (and Not Really Beginners) can be the answer you’re seeking Gardens can thrive when science-based practices are used. Would you like to learn more of the basics of these researchbased horticultural practices? Sign up for this course which is being taught by University of California trained Master Gardeners Whether you have a big or small garden, patio, or deck you’ll find value in this class.

Basic plant needs and why employing them is crucial to garden success
How to get your garden growing
How to choose the best plants for your garden and keep them safe
How to get your garden into shape so your plants will thrive
There will be hands-on experiences throughout the classes which will take what you are learning and put it into practice
Class #4 will take place on Saturday March 22, 2025, at the Martial Cottle Park Master Gardener Demonstration Garden in San José.
The demonstration garden showcases the best practices for home gardeners, and you'll see science-based garden theory in action in a diverse garden
You will also receive some tomato seedlings to repot for later planting in your own garden later in the spring.

The fitness room at Camden provides everything you need for a complete workout. We have cardiovascular machines including treadmills, elliptical trainers, stationary bikes, and arm ergometers. We also have both fixed track machines and free weights for strength training.

Andrea has been at Camden Community Center since June 2023 She started at Front Desk but has also enjoyed working with the fabulous Seniors at the Senior Nutritional Program, the family she calls Fitness in addition to a couple of community events. Her highlight is not only working with the Seniors and workout crew but the smiling faces of the preschoolers that walk by each morning and the determined faces of the resident pickle-ballers. She looks forward to many more years of smiling and greeting all our participants, young and old
Michael has been a member of our Camden Community Center team for over a year, initially serving with dedication at the front desk and more recently contributing to the Senior Nutrition Program. His ability to seamlessly manage front desk responsibilities while also supporting the nutrition program demonstrates his versatility and commitment. Michael's efforts have significantly enhanced our community's experience and the efficiency of our operations.

Nessa Diamante has been a staff member of the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood services team for over 4 years. Nessa has been located at Camden for the past year focusing on Therapeutic Service programs and building connections in the community. She aspires to create safe spaces for all to have some fun!
