Policies ALL ACCESS SPORTS AND RECREATION Specialized Programs All Access Sports and Recreation (AASR) provides a wide range of programs for individuals of all ages with all ability levels, including those with ambulatory and cognitive disabilities. Examples of programs, camps and special events offered by AASR include: adapted golf, power soccer, advanced wheelchair basketball, diabetes camp, cooperative dances, fiesta educative conference, group arts, healthy teens, cooking class, play camps, Junior Sports Camp and sports for all. Dance Hip Hop/Jazz Dance (DANCE ARTS ACADEMY)
Dance-Jazz, Tap Ballet (CLAP ARTS) This class features a mix of dance styles including ballet, jazz and tap. Students learn the basic ballet positions, barre and centre exercises, jazz isolations, traveling movements, and basic tap steps such as shuffles, rhythm exercises, and springs. Parents are invited to end of session presentation! Suggested Attire: Comfortable clothes or leotards, tights and tutus. Ballet and tap shoes suggested but not required. Music & Theater Beginning Piano and Keyboards
Continued Piano Youth (SJG)-GROUP
Students will be taught the basics of playing music on the piano/ keyboard. Topics include: basic notes, rhythm and theory as well as finger exercises, chords and scales, all with the goal of being able to play basic keyboard accompaniment parts and fun songs. Keyboards will be provided for students in class. However, students will need a keyboard at home for practice. Recommended resources for purchasing or renting a keyboard will be provided at the first class. **There is an additional $10 fee for materials payable to the instructor in class.
Students will work on music rudiments and songs both as a group as well as receive some individual instruction. Topics include playing chords to popular and classic songs, melody playing and beginning solo piano skills. Class curriculum rotates each session so the student can repeat this class up to 4 times. This class is designed to keep a student active in their musical development in an affordable, low-pressure and fun environment. Course#

Learning to play the piano is a great way to introduce a child to the world of music. This class starts with basic piano skills and music reading. Karate (Kenpo) Level 2/3 (DRAGON CLOUD KARATE) This is a continuation of the Level 1 class. Students will learn an intermediate form of martial arts which promotes respect, self esteem, leadership and self-confidence. Skyhawks Basketball (SKYHAWKS) This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for beginning to Intermediate players. Using our progressive curriculum, we focus on the whole player - teaching respect, teamwork, and responsibility. Over the course of this six-session program, boys and girls will learn passing, shooting, dribbling, rebounding and defense. Participants should bring a water bottle and wear appropriate clothing and shoes

San Jose Recreation Preschool Please consider the following policies and requirements before registering for a San Jose Recreation Preschool class:
Requirements for a parent participation, volunteer, snack, etc varies by center. Teacher to child ration is 1:10 or better. Participants must be toilet trained by the first day of program. Non-registered children are not allowed in the class at any time. Please make arrangements for siblings on your participation day. A birth certificate may be requested for age confirmations. The City of San Jose, Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services provide recreational programs ONLY and not licensed childcare. After reaching the class capacity your child can be put on a waitlist. If a spot becomes available at any SJ Recreation Preschool center, you will receive a call and be given the option to enroll at that center or to stay on the waiting list. Monthly payment plan is available, with auto-pay on the 20th of each month. A valid credit card must be on file for auto-pay option.
LITTLE LEARNERS @ SEVEN TREES Children will be introduced to socialization, positive self-esteem, following directions and simple learning concepts. Children will work on hand eye coordination, motor skills, while gaining independence through the use of circle time, music, songs, stories, play, arts and crafts. Food will be provided for cooking activities and may be provided for special events. Children must be fully potty-trained before the start of class. KINDERPREP@ SEVEN TREES This class prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills and fun. Your child will gain a basic understanding of shapes, colors, pre-phonics, literacy building (i.e. identifying letter sounds, and writing the alphabet, simple words), number recognition, and counting up to 30. Simply Cooking
Inclusion describes an approach wherein participants with special needs spend most or all of their time with non-disabled students. Inclusive programming is about how we develop and design our schools, classrooms, after-school programs and activities so that all students learn and participate together.
This introductory course for adults with developmental disabilities covers basic kitchen safety, basic menu planning, and preparing simple dishes. Menus will include breakfast, lunch, dinners, and desserts. Class includes lecture, observation, and hands on preparation. Students will receive instructional materials to take home. Adapted Aerobics Get your groove on! 50+ ACTIVE ADULTS CHINESE BRUSH PAINTING Learn the art of brush painting. The instructor will teach the “Impressionistic style,” which is easier to master. She will start with basic strokes to draw orchids, and then gradually introduce other components, such as flower pot, insects, bamboo, minnow, etc. Learn at your own pace. This volunteer group makes handcrafted blankets and sweaters. People who like to knit or crochet, or those who would like to learn are invited to join. SALA provides free legal advice, brief consultations, and representation in a wide range of civil (not criminal) legal matters. Self-screening handouts are available. Appointment is needed. SEPTEMBER: AUTUMN MOON FESTIVAL: Wednesday, September 19, 2018 (10:30am-11:45am) Celebrate the Autumn Moon Festival at Seven Tees Community Center on Wednesday. September 19th from 10:30AM to 11:45AM in our Banquet Room. This event is sponsored by the IWSP Advisory board.
