Art Therapeutic Artist (Therapeutics Program)
Tap into your inner artist, enjoy relaxing music with friends, stimulate your senses, and express yourself with creative activities such as jewelry making, collage, and seasonal arts and crafts. This inclusive program enhances fine motor coordination, social interaction, and self-expression. Participants must be able to function in a 1 to 8 staff to participant ratio or provide for an attendant. Ages 18+.
Art Studio
Kids explore how art influences everyday life while creating their own unique masterpieces. They will learn about diverse cultures and art from all over the world. Imaginations quickly develop and they learn the basic concepts of color, style, form and design by creating collages, masks, abstracts, clay sculptures and much more. All materials are included. Dance to pop hit music and hip hop beats! This class features exciting moves and basic techniques that make for a great workout! Music & Theater Beginning Piano Discover the keys to your child’s future success. Studies show that children who are introduced to music have an IQ jump of 3 points in the first six months! Designed for adults with developmental disabilities, this yoga class teaches gentle, relaxing stretches to increase strength, flexibility, and sense of calm, health, and wellness. My Boundaries (Therapeutics Program)

SAN JOSE RECREATION PRESCHOOL Please consider the following policies and requirements before registering for a San Jose Recreation Preschool class:
Requirements for a parent participation, volunteer, snack, etc varies by center. Teacher to child ratio is 1:10 or better. Participants must be toilet trained by the first day of program. Non-registered children are not allowed in the class at any time. Please make arrangements for siblings on your participation day. A birth certificate may be requested for age confirmations. The City of San Jose, Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services provide recreational programs ONLY and not licensed childcare. After reaching the class capacity your child can be put on a waitlist. If spot becomes available at any SJ Recreation Preschool center, you will receive a call and be given the option to enroll at that center or to stay on the waiting list. Monthly payment plan is available, with auto-pay on the 20th of each month. (A valid credit card must be on file for auto-pay option.—Kinder Prep & Little Learners only)
Three-year-olds are busy and curious. Our goal is to channel these wonderful behaviors and guide them into the world of learning. Classes focus on independence, social interaction, pre-literacy and pre-math skill development, language development, fine motor and gross motor activities. Digital Arts Program Brief overview The San Jose-Digital Arts Program provides hands on opportunities for middle and high school aged youth, to explore their creativity and selfexpression. Membership sites at Seven Trees and Roosevelt Community Centers, allow youth to engage in activities such as song-writing, beat production, music recording and editing, playing instruments, audio engineering, art, photography, film and more. During program hours staff are available to teach the digital arts to youth, engage them in digital arts projects and provide them with a safe environment after school. Staff mentor students in all facets of life and help them achieve educational and professional goals. Digital Arts Members are invited to participate in field trips, and special events with the program. During the school year, Digital Art classes will also be offered at other City of San Jose Community Centers, such as Mayfair Community Center. SUMMER CAMPS Adapted Digital Arts Camp (Therapeutics/SJ Digital Arts)
Join our introductory multimedia camp for teens and young adults with disabilities! You'll work on projects in music production, video editing, graphic design, and photography. Material costs and snacks will be covered. Participants must be able to function in a 1:5 staff to participant ratio, independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant for personal care needs. (If a participant is under 18, personal attendants are required to pass a City of San Jose background check.)
Little Learners Camp
Children will be introduced to socialization, positive self-esteem, following directions and simple learning concepts. Children will work on hand eye coordination, motor skills, and gain independence through the use of circle time, music, songs, stories, play and arts and crafts. Children must be fully potty trained before the start of camp. Requirements for parent attendance, volunteers, snacks, etc. varies by center. * No Camp– July 4th* Please bring a snack and bottled water.

Kinder Prep Camp
This camp prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills and fun. Your child learns alphabet sounds, shapes and colors. CHINESE BRUSH PAINTING The single most astonishing fact about Chinese brush painting; is that each brush stroke is a defining move that produces a portion of the painting that is neither improved upon nor corrected. The artist paints with rapid, mentally constructed strokes transporting a "mind image" on mulberry paper.
