BALLET/TAP GYM STARS

Students will have fun learning Ballet positions, warm-ups, and tap steps. Correct technique and terms will be taught. Students will learn a dance routine to perform for family and friends

Parents are allowed to stay for the first 10 minutes on the first day of class and are encouraged to attend the last class for a presentation

Be a gymnastic star! Learn cartwheels, handstands, rolls, round offs, and much, much more! Bare feet during class is suggested Children should secure long hair back in a ponytail

BASKETBALL

This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for beginning to intermediate players Using our progressional curriculum, we focus on the whole playerteaching sportsmanship and teamwork Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding and defense. Participants should bring a water bottle and wear appropriate clothing and shoes

Skyhawks Volleyball takes the energy and excitement of this great team sport and puts it all together into one fun-filled program All aspects of the game are taught through drills and exercises that focus on bumping, setting, spiking, hitting and serving. Join us as we have an hour worth of fun packed activities and art crafts. We will switch on and off with planned activities per each session day. This is a curated once a month program for persons with disabilities Our theme for this day is Farm Animal Fun We partake in a themed activity and create a themed craft that surrounds farm animals. FUN FOR ALL

This program focuses on fun with music, games, arts and crafts, movement activities and more! This play program is designed for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Children should bring a sack lunch to class each week. Participants must be able to function in a 1 to 3 staff to participant ratio and independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant for personal care. Attendants will be required to pass a City of San Jose background check in programs that serve youth under 18 years of age

SAN JOSÉ RECREATION PRESCHOOL

DISCOVER LEARN PLAY

The San José Recreation Preschool program offers children, 3 to 5 year olds, and their families educational and recreational experiences that support their imaginative, physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development Children prepare for kindergarten success in a safe and welcoming environment. The San Jose Recreation Preschool Program is adhering to all Santa Clara County, Public Health guidelines to ensure the health and well-being of students and staff.

KINDERPREP

This class prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills, and fun Your child will gain a basic understanding of shapes, colors, pre-phonics, literacy building (i e identifying letter sounds, writing the alphabet and simple words), number recognition, and counting up to 30 The goal is to have fun, participate, and learn Children must be able to use the restroom unassisted All children must have valid immunization records on file before the start of class Requirements for parent participation will vary by center

LITTLE LEARNERS

Children will be introduced to socialization, positive self-esteem, following directions, and simple learning concepts. Children will work on hand-eye coordination and motor skills while gaining independence through the use of circle time, music, songs, stories, play, and arts and crafts Food will be provided for cooking activities and may be provided for special events Children must be able to use the restroom unassisted All children must have valid immunization records on file before the start of class Requirements for parent participation will vary by center

THE HATCHERY

This program is an opportunity to introduce preschoolers to farm life and animals at Emma Prusch Farm Park Activities will include caring for our farm animals, songs, stories, crafts, garden fun, and games to develop socialization skills, eye-hand coordination, and motor skills. Your child will also learn alphabet sounds, shapes, and colors in a safe and fun farm atmosphere! Children must be able to use the restroom unassisted. All children must have valid immunization records on file before the start of class Requirements for parent participation will vary by center

KINDER PREP SPANISH EXPLORATION (4-5 YEARS OLD) @ WILLOW GLEN COMMUNITY CENTER

THE RECREATION OF CITY KIDS (R.O.C.K.) AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM OFFERS: A Safe And Supportive Environment; Homework Assistance and Enrichments; and Recreation and STEAM Activities

Program Information

R.O.C.K. Afterschool is available Monday-Friday on school campuses from the time school is dismissed until 6 p.m., except school holidays, breaks, and inservice days.

Payment Options

R.O.C.K. Afterschool payment options include a one-time payment in full or quarterly or monthly auto pay. A Punch Pass for 10 site visits to R.O.C.K. will also be available for students. Scholarships are available for those who qualify; awarded as funding is available. Please contact your local community center for information about scholarship opportunities.

R.O.C.K. Afterschool is a license-exempt program.

Whether your child loves to build things or destroy them, this week of camp includes lots of both! Junior Mad Science engineers design and build structures using simple tools and their imaginations Then the machine madness starts children discover how different machines, both simple and complex, are used in our daily lives! Kids design simple machines using pulleys, wedges, screws and levers and have fun learning how catapults work! We use the skills we’ve learned to build a Mad Science robot that we can keep, all while learning the science of robotics!
