2022 SUMMER CAMPS AT A GLANCE SKYHAWKS MINI BASEBALL/SOCCER CAMP SKYHAWKS BASEBALL CAMP This multi-sport program was developed to give 4 to 7 year-olds a positive first step into athletics. Sports are taught in a safe, structured environment filled with encouragement and fun. Through games and activities, campers explore balance, hand/eye coordination and skill development at their own pace. Participants should wear appropriate clothing and running shoes; bring two snacks, a water bottle, and sunscreen. All children receive an award certificate, Skyhawks t-shirt and ball. This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for beginning to intermediate players. Using our progressive curriculum, we focus on the whole player teaching sportsmanship and teamwork. Boys and girls will learn the fundamentals of passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding and defense. Participants should bring a water bottle, several snacks and a lunch for fullday programs. Using our progressive curriculum, your young athlete will gain the technical skills and sport knowledge required for that next step into soccer. Skyhawks Volleyball takes the energy and excitement of this great team sport and puts it all together into one fun-filled program. All aspects of the game are taught through drills and exercises that focus on bumping, setting, spiking, hitting and serving. This camp is designed for the beginning to intermediate player. Find out just how much fun Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) can be with our unique and exciting hands-on activities! We put our engineering and technology skills to use and build structures, explore space and discover magnetic levitation! Basic math concepts such as units of measure, shapes, problem solving, addition and subtraction are used during our crazy experiments! WACKY ROBOTS & WITGETS CAMP CAMP Whether your child loves to build things or destroy them, this week of camp includes lots of both! Junior Mad Science engineers design and build structures using simple tools and their imaginations. Then the machine madness starts…children discover how different machines, both simple and complex, are used in our daily lives! Kids design simple machines using pulleys, wedges, screws and levers and have fun learning how catapults work! We use the skills we’ve learned to build a Mad Science robot that we can keep, all while learning the science of robotics!

Futsal is a fun, fast paced 5v5 soccer game, played indoors within the lines of a basketball court (no walls), using a small, size 3, low bounce ball. In this class players participate in fun educational games. Classes focus on increasing balance, coordination and fundamental futsal skills. We utilize creative fun activities to help kids to cooperate in a group setting and build self esteem in our fun low-pressure environment. (This class will be a mix of Futsal and Soccer drills. The class is held outdoors.)

SIMPLY COOKING (VIRTUAL) Join us for a FUN and FREE VIRTUAL cooking class while we learn to cook different recipes and engage in a social setting. Zumba Gold recreates all the same Zumba moves you know and love with lower intensity and lower impact while still focusing on balance, range of motion, and coordination. BROWN BAG PROGRAM - WEDNESDAY Every FIRST & THIRD Wednesday of the month from 8:00am to 9:00am, outside in front of the main office. In order to receive a bag of food, you must be at least sixty years of age and meet the income guidelines. You need to fill out the form and return it to the Second Harvest Food Bank volunteer working that day. If you have questions, please stop by during Brown Bag hours, every FIRST & THIRD Wednesday of the month from 8:00am-9:00am. Ages: 60+

Santa Clara County Senior Nutrition Program Enjoy a delicious lunch at the Cypress Cafe. Lunch is served Monday - Friday at 11:30am. Participants need to check in by 11 a.m. Suggested Donation: $3.00 for adults age 60+ $6.00 guest fee for adults under age 60. Please make reservations by 9:00am the day before by calling 408-244-1353. Monthly menus are available at the Center. Pay for your meals in advance! 11 day meal cards available for $30.

SENIOR ADULT LEGAL ASSISTANCE (SALA) - TUESDAY Senior Adult Legal Assistance (SALA) appointments are available for seniors age 65 and older and a resident of Santa Clara County. Will assist with problems in the area of Social Security, Supplemental, Security Income, Medi-Cal, Medicare, In-Home Support Services, Elder Abuse, Housing, Easy Wills, and Long-term Care. Appointments fill up 1-2 months in advance. Appointments are required. Meets every third Tuesday of the month.

AT CAMP SAN JOSE JR. YOUR CHILD WILL PARTICIPATE IN AN UNFORGETTABLE SUMMER CAMP! WE COMBINE CAMP TRADITIONS WITH A WIDE VARIETY OF ENRICHMENT AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES. CHILDREN WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE COOL ART PROJECTS, PLAY GAMES AND, SING FUNNY SONGS. CAMP INCLUDES SKILL BUILDING, NEW FRIENDSHIPS, AND MUCH MORE!
