This Young Rembrandts? Pastel Art workshop will focus on five different artists. Each day, we will create a large, original pastel drawing replicating a famous artist’s masterpiece. We will draw a colorful goldfish bowl as Henri Matisse did in his Goldfish painting. On day two, we will recreate Vincent Van Gogh’s famous Starry Night complete with swirls throughout the sky. On day three, we will create powerful still life full of robust color as Paul Cezanne did often in his paintings. Day four will find us drawing Andre Derain’s Portrait of Matisse. On the final day, we will draw as Thiebald did for his Cake Paintings. Each day will challenge us with the pastel media. But in the end we will be Masters ourselves. WATERCOLOR – BEGINNING As a new painter, enjoy exploring different techniques in watercolor using a variety of papers and materials. Students will explore and develop handling and control of watercolor processes and learn numerous painting skills, as well as the elements of design. BALLROOM DANCE* Come join others for some various dancing and fun socializing. Dress is casual and singles are welcomed. Come try out the exciting world of ballroom dancing; including the slow gliding foxtrot to sensuous rumba, to a vivacious cha cha... there is something for everyone. No partners or previous experience needed, just a desire to have some fun! Participants pay at the door. $1.00 for members and $2.00 for non-members of the Willow Glen Community Center. LINE DANCE – LEVEL 1/ BEGINNING* Great for a person with two left feet who needs the extra TLC! This is an introductory class appropriate for anyone who has never line danced before. Come find out how much fun your two feet will have! The lessons are easy and a great experience. Partners are not required, and no prior experience is necessary. Instructor: Volunteer KINDER CAMP @ KIRK COMMUNITY CENTER This camp prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills and fun. CAMP LEADERSHIP The Leadership Camp is designed for ages 13-17 years old that need a more mature camp, Typical Fun camp but with age appropriate activities. Campers get to become role model to the younger campers and take on a more responsible role by planning and leading fun and exciting camp games and activities. Working closely with Recreation Staff, they will learn to be an important part of the team in camp! Camp will bring a sense of pride in helping others and a whole lot of fun!
