DANCE BABY BALLET (Child Only) Baby Ballet encourages self-expression and fun! Children learn to respond to music, improve balance and agility, and express their feelings through dance. A variety of music and props such as scarves and teddy bears keep your little one entertained. Parents may stay for first 10 min of first class and are invited back at the end of program for a class demonstration. Suggested Attire: Comfortable clothes or leotards, tights and tutus. Ocean Adventures with Dory: Things are getting a little fishy at Willow Glen this summer because Dory is coming to town. In our Ocean Adventures camp participants will dive in for a week filled with underwater fun. Campers will learn about the ocean habitat and the creatures who call it home. Activities will include crafts, hands on learning exercises, games and of course learning to speak whale. Pre-Engineering Mine, Craft, Build, using Lego®: Bring Mine craft to life using tens of thousands of LEGO®! Build engineer-designed projects such as a motorized Creeper, a portal to the Nether, and a moving Mine craft! Create your favorite Mine craft objects with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. Whether you are new to Mine craft and LEGO or a seasoned veteran, you'll be hooked on the endless creative possibilities. Engineering FUNdamentals: Mine, Craft, Build Lego®: Bring Mine craft to life using LEGO! Build a motorized walking Creeper, a terrifying Ghost, and a motorized Mine cart! Your paleontologist will go on fossil digs, build dinosaur models, enjoy special scavenger hunts as well as dinosaur stories, games and activities. To top it off, the last day of camp they will become their favorite dinosaur at our dinosaur party. Skyhawks Tennis: In Skyhawks Sports tennis programs, players learn proper grips, footwork, strokes, volleys and serves during a series of drills designed to teach skills in a fun and dynamic way. During the fun filled week your child will have the opportunity to experience camp activities from other cultures. SPECIALTY CAMPS SPECIALTY CAMPS (AUGUST 1-5) Secret Life of Pets Camp: Every day in San Jose, thousands of kids set off to school or camp leaving their beloved pets at home. For the animals, the real day starts after the creatures on two legs leave. That’s when the pets begin their own daily routine: hanging out with each other, trading stories about their owners, and auditioning adorable looks to get better treats. In this adventure filled week, participants will get to experience life through their pet’s eyes. Campers will get to live the antics that their cats, dogs, birds and even fish are up to while they are away. Activities will include creating a the ultimate treat, building an inside dog obstacle course, bird keep away and of course lots of off leash physical activity. Comic Book Creation: Designed for younger students, this class allows participants to create their own digital comic book. Utilizing Comic Life software, instructors would teach students basic computer functions and software operation. From there the class begins developing characters and plot. When class is finished students will have a complete short comic to share with family and friends! Stop Motion Animation: Participants work in small groups to learn how to story-board, create characters to animate, learn the stop-motion animation software and then get to work creating a short animated film. By appointment only on the first and third Thursday of each month 10:0012:00pm. Half hour legal assistance for seniors who are age 65+, and also a Santa Clara County resident. FREE Senior Peer Advocates (S.P.A.) SPA volunteers provide information in various languages and help connect you to many community resources, services, and benefits such as: Food & Nutrition, Housing, Transportation, Health Care, Health Promotion, Caregiving and Family Support, Legal Services, and Social/Educational Activities.
