Baby Ballet encourages self-expression and fun! Children learn to respond to music, improve balance and agility, and express their feelings through dance. Playing a string instrument has been an enjoyable and healing activity for the teachers of this class. Members of the class will learn two or three familiar songs each week on their instruments and be able to accompany themselves and others. No previous experience is required. Basic essentials of music will be a part of the course. Those taking the class should bring their own instruments and music stands and a 3-ring binder for music. This class is a parent participation class. Kids will come out feeling like a little super hero after this class while parents will walk away with the confidence that their child will know what to do in a dangerous situation. Kids will practice strike and flee responses designed to get away from harm's way and to safety from attackers. Students will also learn and practice how to lead themselves out of problematic situations in a safe, supportive environment. Players develop their tennis technique, athletic and court coverage skills in order to achieve success in rallying consistency and in point playing on a 60 foot court. A variety of fun and competitive games are used to develop a strong foundation of tennis fundamentals. Players increase their rallying, volley, serve and point playing skills while improving their athleticism and shot consistency. Players will focus on using the proper shot techniques and court coverage skills before moving on to a 78 foot court. At Camp San Jose your child will participate in an unforgettable summer day camp experience combining summer camp traditions with enriching and educational activities. Teen Leadership Camp (T.L.C.) is designed for teens to prepare for their roles as future camp leaders and interact with other teens. Working closely with staff, they will learn all aspects of camp and what it takes to become an inspiring and memorable camp leader. Teens will receive mentorship from recreation staff, learn the value of teamwork and become role-models for younger campers. Looking for a great summer theater camp located in a beautiful park, where your child ages 7 and up, will have fun, learn theater skills, and so much more? Theater Camp, put on by the Willow Glen Children's Theater (WGCT), is for you! This class prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills and fun.
