ART, MUSIC, THEATER

BEGINNING PIANO AND KEYBOARDS Students will be taught the basics of playing music on the piano/ keyboard. Topics include: basic notes, rhythm and theory as well as finger exercises, chords and scales, all with the goal of being able to play basic keyboard accompaniment parts and fun songs. Keyboards will be provided for students in class. However, students will need a keyboard at home for practice. Recommended resources for purchasing or renting a keyboard will be provided at the first class. WILLOW GLEN CHILDREN’S THEATER (WGCT) Give your child the chance to act on stage! Kids participate in the entire process of creating an original play, from the first spark of an idea to the final moment of taking a bow on stage. The workshop draws children in right from the start with theatre games and improvised scenes. Our unique approach will teach your kid tools that they can apply to their everyday life and will help them make new friends through the magic of theatre. SJ RECREATION PRESCHOOL Please consider the following policies and requirements before registering for a San Jose Recreation Preschool Class:       

Requirements for parent participation, volunteer, snack, etc varies by center. Teacher to child ratio is 1:10 or better. Participants must be toilet trained by first day of program. Non-registered children are not allowed in the class at any time. Please make arrangements for siblings on your participation day. A birth certificate may be requested for age confirmations. The City of San Jose, Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services provide recreations programs ONLY and not licensed childcare. After reaching the class capacity your child can be put on a waitlist. If a spot becomes available at any SJ Recreation Preschool center, you will receive a call and be given the option to enroll at that center or to stay on the waiting list.

By appointment only on the first and third Thursday of each month 10:0012:00pm. Half hour legal assistance for seniors who are age 65+, and also a Santa Clara County resident. FREE Senior Peer Advocates (S.P.A.) SPA volunteers provide information in various languages and help connect you to many community resources, services, and benefits such as: Food & Nutrition, Housing, Transportation, Health Care, Health Promotion, Caregiving and Family Support, Legal Services, and Social/Educational Activities.
