Kris Kruk and Emily Young are the founders and owners of Tribe Pilates in Santa Monica. In discussing their business, Kruk and Young say that “Pilates is for everyone and practicing reformer Pilates on a regular basis provides plenty of well-rounded benefits. Pilates makes you stop, breathe, and focus on what you are doing and its purpose. Our studio was founded on building strength through community and achieving your fitness goals in a positive, encouraging environment. We will work together to help you discover the strength of your inner warrior to not only be successful in achieving your fitness goals but also receive all those great benefits Pilates has to offer.” When the pandemic caused Tribe Pilates having temporarily close, Kruk and Young want to continue to inspire their community to stay healthy during these challenging times. They ended up adapting the business to an online format running complimentary donation-based pilates classes via Zoom and Facebook Live. The studio is following all guidelines by the CDC and holds the safety of their clients 911 Pico Blvd.
and employees as a top priority. Krunk and Young say “our studio’s biggest strength is having friendly, knowledgeable instructors that provide a variety of challenging and effective Pilates classes in a relaxing and welcoming environment. Classes range from total body workouts to more specialized classes that key in on specific muscle groups like our popular Booty & Stems class. Our goal at Tribe Pilates is to help you transform the way you look and feel no matter the stage of life you are in.” Kruk and Young say that winning this Most Loved vote means a lot to them: “It means a lot because the foundation of Tribe Pilates is community and receiving these votes means that message is shining through to everyone. We have a sign in our studio that says ‘Find Your Tribe. Love Them Hard.’ We really embrace this and welcome everyone that wants to join us to progress in their Pilates journey.”
