”RELAX ON THE MATCHY-MATCHY… THAT’S WHAT BOHO IS - ECLECTIC AND EFFORTLESS. THERE IS NO “RIGHT” OR “WRONG”, JUST GO FOR WHAT FEELS RIGHT...“ CLAIRE PETTIBONE
The Claire Pettibone collection embodies the designer's vision of vintage romance with an enchanted bohemian spirit. Since launching the company with her husband, Guy Toley, in 1994, the self-described true romantic has brought her feminine sensibility to fashion. After a successful decade creating luxurious lingerie, Pettibone introduced couture bridal gowns in 2005 and so began a real shift in wedding style. Claire's gentle use of color, couture details, European laces and graceful embroideries flutter and flow to make a woman look and feel like a goddess. Q &A with C LA I RE E L I Z A BE T H M E S S I N A
New Collection in 3 Words Graceful, bohemian, effortless
The Big Inspiration A Moroccan villa with pillows and rugs strewn casually…an English garden with rambling roses and moss-covered stones. Casually beautiful settings for a wedding that is timeless and beautiful, while relaxed and genuine. I was really inspired by my brides who have the most amazing weddings and stories to tell.
Favorite Trends of the Moment You know I don’t believe in wedding trends! But, I will say, it’s lovely that there are options other than strapless, and that the pressure to fit into a mold has been broken! I love individuality and creativity in weddings and dresses that show off a bride’s natural beauty.
Philosophy on Color I love color! It is one way to inject some major style and individuality into your day. This particular collection does not feature color in the gowns…I did so much last season, that this time was a return to simplicity, and kind of leaves it open for interpretation through styling and other elements that can personalize the look.
Words of Wisdom for a BOHO Bride Don’t OVER-do it…choose details and elements that you honestly love, not just because they fit into your “theme”. Relax on the matchy-matchy…that’s what boho is - eclectic and effortless. There is no “right” or “wrong”, just go for what feels right, mix in some great guests, great music, great cocktails and a lot of love! The secret to a fun wedding, is the bride and groom are having a blast, your guests will follow your lead.

HERBAL I N S P I R AT I O N / chamomile wine
Combine chamomile flowers with white wine to make a truly refreshing and medicinal libation.
- 750 ml dry white wine - 3/4 cup dried chamomile flowers - grated zest of 1 lemon Combine chamomile, lemon zest, and wine in a jar and store in a cool, dark place for 3-4 days. That’s it! Infusion is now complete. Strain the chamomile and lemon zest out and keep cool in the fridge. Flavor too intense? Add some bubbly water for some added sparkle.

THE WEATHER PROOF BRIDE HOW T O CONQUER BAD W EATH ER ON YOU R W EDDING DAY
Whoever said that a rainy wedding day is good luck never had to deal with 150 soaking-wet guests at an outdoor ceremony. Bad weather is the biggest threat to any wedding, but with the proper preparation, you can ensure than neither snow nor rain nor heat will prevent you from making your marital march with a smile on your face.

Be prepared for wardrobe adjustments. The last thing you want on your wedding day is to be running around buying umbrellas for your guests. Rather than take the risk, stock up on plenty of supplies to deal with whatever weather comes your way. Is there a chance of rain? Make sure you have umbrellas and Wellies in your wedding colors. You'll also want to adjust your hair and makeup if it doesn't mesh with the forecast.

Alexandria and Kurt let Arizona’s natural palette influence the design of their wedding, with bridesmaids in ivory, pale pink and warm gray and the groom and groomsmen in charcoal. The bride’s lacy detailed gown was just right for their sunny wedding, both elegant and airy. The beginning of their lakeside ceremony was both the bride’s and the groom’s favorite part - seeing one another as Alexandria walked down the aisle (along with the beautiful weather, soft colors and stunning views) set a cheerful, happy tone for the rest of the event. On Adriana and Ashish’s wedding day, the bride’s sister’s fiancé surprised guests with a speech that best expresses the sentiment behind the traditional Indian wedding. He said the couple is an example of the American dream - two children of immigrants who have found each other, made lives for themselves, and who know the importance of family, faith and love.
Adriana and Ashish’s shared values of family, faith and love along with a respect for their cultural heritage made for a beautiful wedding that combined time-honored customs with new traditions. Their ceremonial gown and suit let the bright, colorful details woven throughout the bridesmaids dresses and floral bouquets pop. The intricate accents, like soft henna tattoos and delicately beaded gowns, complemented their Italian-villa-style venue. R E A L

FRANCONIA, NEW HAMSHIRE

J.HARPER PHOTOGRAPHY
Julie and Paul’s summer wedding started with a misty New England summer day and a long, white J. Crew gown. It ended with sparklers, a barefoot bride in a lacy Free People dress and a groom who had shed his jacket to enjoy the balmy weather. In other words, it was everything a summer wedding should be - colorful, relaxed, rustic and most of all, a celebration.
The bride and groom enjoyed a few stolen moments throughout the ceremony, many of which were captured by Jackie of J. Harper Photography. The groom’s J. Crew three-piece suit allowed him some versatility over the day and night, and the muted bridesmaids dresses paired beautifully with the vibrant natural backdrop of the couple’s New Hampshire venue. The Right Stuff Growing up in Europe my mother inspired me to create with nature and fresh florals. I feel that I have reached my level of success from hard work, perserverance and years of experience. This is possible if you have the love and passion for your kraft.
Lessons learned I learned early on that I was creating an event for my client and not for me. I approach each consultation with the client's personality and style in mind.
What fires you up? Flowers being my passion and being able to do this everyday is what drives me. What inspires me are walks in the woods, gardens and the outdoors. I look at the beauty in nature and incorporate into my designs.
Design method My starting point would be an initial consultation/site visit. I would then work on the elements for an event from selecting tent and layout, The components would then be my next to make the clients vision a reality. I would include color palettes, mood boards, designing menu, table number, signage, table d茅cor(china and glassware),linens and florals.

When Molly Guy was looking around New York City for a wedding dress for her own wedding a few years ago, she was nothing short of dismayed. She couldn't find anything in any bridal salon that reflected her own personal style and sense of self. So Molly set out to create a place where not only would she have likely found her own wedding dress, but she would have found kindred spirits in the wedding planning process. This place is Stone Fox Bride, and Molly is its enlightened fairy godmother. I popped into Stone Fox Bride on a recent trip to NYC, and it was hard for me to force myself to leave. It's the kind of place where you might try on a wedding dress even though you're not getting married, just because it's too much fun in there not to (I did!). The space has a warm, welcoming vibe, and the dresses are laid back, chic, and boho, all at the same time. Undoubtedly for some, Stone Fox Bride is a dream come true.

Q &A with MOLLY GU Y of ST ON E FOX BRI DE
What’s the first question you ask a Stone Fox Bride when she walks into your showroom? Whats your style, budget and vibe?
Do you get many brides in who don't get the Stone Fox idea? Do they figure that out themselves, or do you help them to that conclusion? We attract ladies who want to have a peaceful, low-key wedding experience. We're all about being easy and mellow. A lot of women prefer a more formal, bells and whistles type deal, but we're definitely the place to lounge around and take your shoes off.
What inspired you to start Stone Fox Bride? When I was getting married four years ago I couldn't find a place to buy my wedding dress that felt chic, high-style and groovy. After I tied the knot I made it my mission to bring that place to life!
How soon after opening did you realize you were going to be successful? Depends on how you define successful…. I was surprised that so many people were interested in checking us out before we even opened our doors. I think lots of ladies in NYC were hungry for a less conventional wedding-dress shopping experience.
What’s on the horizon for Stone Fox Bride? I'm publishing a book in January 2016. Lots of cool dress collaborations and other top secret projects in the works!
Words that describe a Stone Fox Bride Soulful, Effortless, Spirited, Gracious, Relevant, Genuine, Brave, Mellow, Honest, Raw, Sweet, Dark, True and Tender

The Right Stuff Over the last 12 years I've certainly made a mark on the industry and have worked with some incredible people, not to mention, my proudest accomplishment of building a team of artists I'm honored to call friends.
Lessons learned Never forget that everything you put out into the world is noticed and represents your livelihood; Measure twice, cut once; Make mindful decisions to ensure you unplug at least one day of the week; Finally, when in doubt throw it out.
What fires you up? God, My home, husband and parents; travel to our vacation home in Southern Utah; flowers of any kind; a fresh palette of new colors; and waking up early without an alarm.
Design method Conversation and Collaboration. Momental is a group of smart women who love weddings, design, and creating expressive stationery. Sharing your ideas with our team will feel like chatting with friends. We ask questions, inquiring about everything from your style and layout preferences to papers and artwork you might enjoy. We invite you to be completely candid and honest about your vision and share inspirations; we love that! Remember, your conversation with us will feel like a collaboration; not a dissertation. After all, we are designing your invitations!

THE DELICATE SELECTION OF YOUR BRIDAL PARTY You are engaged and joyfully planning your wedding! Congratulations and best wishes to you and your fiance. Now is time to carefully pick whom you will ask to be in your bridal party and, while some brides think they have this decision figured out long before they are even engaged, there are a few factors to consider before asking everyone.

It is customary to include siblings and cousins close in age of the bride and groom in the bridal party. The bride's sister, if she has one, is often asked to be maid of honor, or matron of honor if already married, yet the groom's sister can also step into that role or a cousin or best friend. The groom's brother or father is often asked to be the best man, or a cousin or best friend. It is preferable to pick one person to be your maid/matron of honor and one to be the best man and not try to split the ticket between two people to avoid any confusion of roles or competition. The Right Stuff Listening to my clients is a priority, getting a real sense of their general style + story, and infusing elements they haven't thought of. I want to create an experience for them and their guests, and am open to any + all ideas to do so!
Lessons learned For the brides + grooms, try to not do or be something you're not. There is a lot of inspiration out there which is generally a good thing but if something doesn't make sense for you or your wedding, don't do it. For us vendors, try to stick to what you do best. It's easy to try and do it all to please clients but ultimately it doesn't benefit anyone.
What fires you up? The unexpected. Mixing textures + colors. My clients' faces the moment they see their wedding brought to life. Oh and gold, lots of gold.
Design method We start with a new joint pinterest board. This is key as many clients' initial boards are all over the place and may have even been started before they had a date + venue. We hone in on a color palette + general vision and curate the best vendors to achieve it. I encourage texts + emails with pictures of things they stumble upon that they love...or don't love! With site visits and mockups thrown in, we end the process with a crazy comprehensive design plan that all key vendors are aware of.
