JUDGE RICHARD CORTEZ FUNDRAISER RECEPTION
Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez held an ex tremely successful fundraiser reception at the Embassy Suites Hotel Convention Center in McAllen on October 26 for his re-election campaign. The festive evening included an impressive lineup of speakers including Master of Ceremonies Dr. Ivan Melendez, Sister Norma Pimentel, Colonel Frank J. Plummer, Sheriff Eddie Guerra, and Hidalgo County District Clerk Laura Hinojosa.

Judge Cor tez star ted his remarks by thanking all his host committee members for sponsoring the event. He went on to reflect on goals met during his first term in office as well as the many monumental hurdles overcome during his tenure. Despite the many challenges created by the unprecedented Covid19 pandemic, much was accomplished, but more time is needed to meet other goals of his administration. Judge Cortez said he looks forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Hidalgo County and further Covid19 recovery and health initiatives.

Judge Cortez is a pro-business and development leader, and he will focus on continuing to bring economic oppor tunities to our area, develop smar t grow th plans and continue c ri t i c a l d ra i na g e i m p ro ve m e n t s . He will also work closely with area leaders to address ways to improve poverty levels and seek solutions for mental health needs in our area. His message was inspiring and positive to all in attendance. He expressed his gratitude to the many elected officials, supporters, friends, and family at the event as he concluded his remarks.
