Gordon-‐Quiroga, I. Lazic, R. Corbett, M. Menard, H. Lucas, P. Abrams, A. Katz, M. Robbins, A. Ambrose Police Report: 10 car breaks (low) and 1 arrest Robbery on Asylum St. with an arrest Car Thefts: Arch St and Allyn St The parade only had 11 arrests – for an alcohol-‐related event -‐ very tame crowd compared to previous years (23 arrests last year) Guest Speakers from UConn: Michael Menard, Campus Director and Robert Corbett, Director of University Planning Move downtown will be complete in Fall 2017, students will be studying Social Work, Business and Engineering. Around 1300 undergrad students and 600 grad students with 250 faculty members. The campus will be comprised of about 10 buildings within a 2 block radius of the Hartford Times building. Average age of student will be approximately 18 years old Move will begin in 2015; they plan on constructing only 1 building (Hartford Times) and will be utilizing space in existing structures. UConn has three main concerns: 1. Cost of parking for students who currently do not pay for parking at the West Hartford campus. 2. Security, specifically lighting 3. Food options, existing eating establishments are not sufficient for student body in terms of quantity and price expectations. There will be a great deal of planning needed as the class schedule is determined, traffic patterns will need to be studied, traffic lights etc. Hartford Times building will be used for faculty offices, classrooms and a student center. No decision has been made on a book store or Co-‐op (like Yale) and there will be efforts made to conserve open space and green space. More specific plans will be released in June/July.
