company PROFILE

Conduit Repair Systems, Inc.

Conduit Repair Systems, Inc. T he old saying, “necessity is the mother of all inventions” holds true for Conduit Repair Systems, Inc. Our split conduit products were originally designed and developed by a cable TV technician and his father in-law that worked as an engineer. The technician found that he needed a repair product that truly restored damaged PVC pipe to its original state. The technician did some research and found that what he needed didn’t exist at the time. The two men then developed our patented snap together split conduit products. Since the early days of the company, many additional applications for the products have since been discovered including enclosing exposed cables, relocating aerial lines to underground, enclosing cables on bridges, protecting cables on telephone poles, enclosing fiber optics, and relocating cables along roads. Conduit Repair Systems, Inc. formally began business operations in 1995 and has seen exponential growth ever since. Our company is headquartered in St. George, Utah, which is located about 100 miles North East of Las Vegas, Nevada along Interstate 15. The company chose St. George because of its reputation as the “Palm Springs” of Utah. The warm weather, the world-class golf courses, combined with a very qualified work force made the selection to locate in St. George very easy. Over the past fifteen years Conduit Repair Systems, Inc. has become the world-leading manufacturer of split conduit products. Conduit Repair Systems manufactures split conduit, split couplings, split sweeps, and other related split conduit products specifically designed for electrical, cable TV, and communications applications. CRS offers its products in a variety of sizes including 1 inch, 1 ¼ inch, 1 ½ inch, 2 inch, 2 ½ inch, 3 inch, 4 inch, 5 inch, and 6 inch. Conduit Repair Systems, Inc. executive staff consists of highly qualified professionals. The President of the company, David Clove, is a CPA and is also a former Finance Manager for Arizona Public

Metro Lighting Earns 2018 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Award Missouri’s largest lighting distributor receives national recognition for outstanding achievements in energy efficiency

M

ETRO LIGHTING, a locallyowned family business, is proud to announce that it received the 2018 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Award for its outstanding efforts to promote energy-efficient lighting products. Metro Lighting’s accomplishments will be recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 20, 2018. Each year, the EPA and DOE honor a variety of businesses and organizations for their commitment to reducing energy usage, saving money and protecting the environment through superior energy-efficiency achievements. Metro Lighting has been an

ENERGY STAR partner since 2008 and is being recognized by the EPA for the ninth time. Past recognition includes the Excellence Award – Lighting Retailer or Showroom, Partner of the Year – Climate Communications, and Partner of the Year – Retailer. “It’s an honor to once again be recognized with the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award,” said Bill Frisella, president of Metro Lighting. “Receiving this prestigious award for a ninth time demonstrates our commitment to improving our energy performance, providing energy-efficient products and reducing our impact on the environment.” In 2016 alone, ENERGY STAR-certi-

fied products, homes, buildings and plants helped Americans save more than $30 billion in energy costs and approximately 400 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, while achieving broad emissions reductions. “The 2018 ENERGY STAR Partners of the Year have demonstrated real leadership, showing how American families and businesses can save energy, save money, and reduce air emissions,” said Bill Wehrum, EPA Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation. Lunera Achieves DLC Networked Lighting Controls Certification Lunera’s Smart T8 is the first qualified solution to integrate networked lighting controls within a LED lamp

L

UNERA, an IoT infrastructure company, recently announced the company’s connected Smart T8 Lamp with its cloud-based Ambient Compute Platform has been listed on the DesignLights Consortium™ (DLC) Networked Lighting Controls (NLC) Qualified Products List. The Lunera solution is the only qualified NLC product with networked lighting controls integrated within the lamp, making it ideal for commercial, institutional and industrial, building retrofit projects. The smart lamp is also separately listed as a DLC qualified device. The integration of lighting controls, microprocessors, sensors and radios within a TLED lamp form factor empowers Lunera to transform a building’s existing lighting systems into an open, future-proofed IoT infrastructure while simultaneously upgrading the lighting to energy-saving LED. Retrofits can be cost justified on energy savings and enable low-risk deployments with minimal disruption. “We’re proud to be the only product recognized by the DLC with networked lighting controls integrated directly into the LED lamp,” said Vincent Rerolle, senior vice president, Lunera. “Our approach not only significantly reduces deployment fric-

tion, in particular in retrofit or upgrade scenarios, but also provides existing buildings with a future-proofed infrastructure to add new differentiated services, such as real-time location services and IoT networking.” The DLC is dedicated to accelerating the adoption of highperforming, energy efficient commercial lighting solutions. Through specification and qualification process, DLC qualification has become the hallmark of utility company rebate programs. New incentives and rebates, which are increasingly being offered to NLC-certified systems, can significantly reduce the cost of upgrading the lighting systems. Utility companies are pursuing NLC qualified solutions due to additional energy savings and access to verified, real-time energy usage data. The DLC NLC qualification is important to the energy industry because it further reduces unnecessary energy consumption, enables utility companies and power consumers to more directly manage peak power demands and provides energy producers with verifiable energy usage data to justify the investment they make through program rebates. A null balance galvanometer, a decade resistance box and a DC power source combined to make one of the first ground testers on the market. Over 20 years ago, AEMC revolutionized the ground testing market by offering clampon ground resistance testers, eliminating the need to disconnect the system to test it and eliminating the need for auxiliary rods to do the test. Several generations of improvements and additional features has strengthened AEMC’s position as the industry standard and leader in clamp-on ground resistance testers. We again led the way in fall-of-potential ground testing with the introduction of an automatic tester in 2006 that automatically locked onto the optimum frequency to test at and calculated all test results for soil resistivity, ground resistance earth coupling and bond resistance, as well as, stored the test data and generated computer reports including fall-of-potential plots. Our latest introduction, a tower test system, again is an innovative design providing the ability to test tower grounding systems with out deenergizing them or removing the overhead ground conductor, saving considerable time and money and improving operator safety. AEMC’s line of current probes has long been the standard for Power Quality analysis with the world leaders in power quality instruments standardizing on these probes for their current measurement source. We also manufacture and sell a wide variety of Power and Power Quality measuring instruments ranging from clamp-on meters to single and three-phase power quality analyzers and digital power meters.
