Hey Folks,
Randy and I are settling down nicely in our new home and are enjoying the peace and serenity of our mini-farm. The view from our office window is like a story book setting with the barn and pasture as the main focal point. We are waiting for our newest family additions to arrive, Mocha and Duke, two horses we are adopting from Horse Haven of Tennessee. So now we will have two steel horses and two real horses. This change in residence has been something we have been looking forward to for a long time. We were tired of living in a subdivision (even though we loved our neighbors); we were tired of living by someone else's rules. We enjoy hearing the frogs and birds singing and our rooster crowing that came with this property. The rooster and hen are doing a great job of keeping bugs under control. We hear there is a stork that comes to visit our creek to catch crawfish; we look forward to seeing that. The best thing about where we live is it's close to the Cherohala Skyway and all the wonderful riding areas that East Tennessee has to offer. This is truly a motorcycle Mecca and we are looking forward to all the great things going on in the motorcycle world so we can share them with you. The daylight is lasting a little longer each day encouraging us to get out and ride more. This year is going to be an awesome year, we just feel it. Honda Exhibits World Premiere of New Concept Model NM4
T
OKYO, JAPAN - (Motor Sports Newswire) - Honda held its press conference at the 30th Osaka Motorcycle Show 2014 and unveiled the world premiere of two types of its new production model “NM4_ as an exhibition model (planned for production). The NM4 was developed under the keywords of “the Neo-futuristic” and “COOL,” pursuing new, unique styling.
T h i s NM4 was designed to realize two points; the design concept “the Front Massive Styling” and “the cockpit position” focusing on the sense of unity with the rider that the rider can smoothly get into the vehicle. The low-setup cockpit position and adjustable backrest provide an enjoyable new riding feel. The instrument panel was designed to provide clear readability and the fun riding, as if the rider was experiencing part of a movie scene.
LED lamps are used on the headlight of the powerful-looking front fairing, the tail lamp and the turn signals. In addition, the utility boxes are set up on the right and left sides of the front fairing for small articles. Two NM4 types were unveiled at the motorcycle show; the simplyconfigured “NM4-01_ which emphasizes its wide, dynamic rear tire and attractive low silhouette, and the “NM4-02” which emanates a unique presence and features a prominent rear design (containing utility boxes on each side of the rear body). The NM4 will also be exhibited at the 41st Tokyo Motorcycle Show.

2014 Harley-Davidson® SuperLow 1200T
Harley transforms the Sportster into a long-distance touring machine.
U
nveiled at Daytona Bike Week while we were there was the new SuperLow 1200T Sportster. It’s being introduced by Harley-Davidson as its lightest touring model ever. It’s 118 pounds less than Harley’s lightest current tourer. With a seat height at just over 26 inches, it will attract more customers who want to ride long distances but are a little scared of the size of the big touring models. With newly designed features like a quick-detachable 14-inch windshield, locking quick detach saddlebags and the ability to add a rider backrest, luggage rack or even a tour pack. The enhanced shock absorbers provide a left side dialadjustable preload (without having to take off the saddlebags) to accommodate more weight from a passenger or luggage for that long ride comfort. It also has mini floorboards mounted three inches more forward adding ease and riding those long distances more tolerable. The power plant is the air-cooled Evolution 1200cc V-Twin engine with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI), rated at 71 ft. lbs. peak torque at 3500 rpm. The powertrain is finished in black powder coat with chrome-plated covers. “Many riders seeking an entry point to the touring experience have been putting

together a bike like this on their own. We’ve added ergonomic adjustments and a selection of touring accessories to a motorcycle platform that is already popular with our customers”, said Jennifer Gersch, Harley’s Product Planning Manager. Other new differences are the front turn signals mount on the lower triple clamp and the brakes, feature a single 300mm front rotor with braided stainless steel lines and are available with optional factoryinstalled ABS that arrives with the H-D Smart Security System (security fob and keyless ignition). The Reduced Reach twoup touring seat moves the rider forward and the nose has been narrowed for more ease of touching the ground with both feet. Harley says ergonomics are calibrated to offer riders from 5’ 1” to 5’ 7” tall an easier reach to the ground, handlebar and foot controls. This will surely appeal to the shorter rider and women The 2014 Harley-Davidson SuperLow 1200T is available in Vivid Black or Candy Orange for around $11,799, or Birch White/Midnight Pearl for $12,334. Pretty smart on Harley-Davidson’s part to come out with this model to get those beginning touring folks first and keep them in the family when they are ready to move up.

BMW Manufactures 500,000th BMW GS Motorcycle with Boxer Engine
UNICH/BERLIM, GERMANY The 500,000th BMW motorcycle of the flat-twin-engined GS model series came off the production line, a R1200GS. Since 1969 motorcycles have been manufactured for the world market in Berlin, Spandau and since 1980 the BMW Motorrad GS models with boxer engine, too. Motorcycles which inspire the urge for adventure travel and even to go on expeditions to the remotest corners of the earth. In the autumn of 1980, BMW Motorrad presented the R80GS, a machine which combined the qualities for two very special fields of use; off-road and street. What began with 798 cc of displacement and 50 bhp of output has developed into a fascinating high-tech travel enduro in the shape of the R1200GS with 125 bhp and 1170cc over a period of three decades. Furthermore state-of-the-art
suspension technology and electronic regulation systems such ABS, traction control or semi-active suspension have been added. Daytona Bike Week Kick Starts the 2014 Motorcycle Season

W
ith temperatures climbing during some days to near 80 degrees, the 73rd Annual Daytona Bike Week kicked off the motorcycle season with a warm breath of fresh air. Riders from all over the world came to enjoy what has become known as the World’s Bike Week as we met many from other countries; Canada, Italy, Germany, England, Australia, Japan and several others. Our host for the week was the August Seven Bed & Breakfast. There we poised ourselves and planned our week accordingly. We planned our sightseeing, meeting friends, events, vendors, eating some great seafood and the Southern Biker Magazine’s Official Ladies Ride-In Bike Show at Rossmeyer’s Harley-Davidson. Destination Harley-Davidson, the Daytona International Speedway, the Beach Street Business district and of course the beach businesses depend

heavily on the amount of motorcycle riders that attend the event every year and they were not disappointed this year. Main Street was a nightly gathering place for those bikers that love to meet and have a great time with other like minded people. Musical guests from every facet and genre of music were there performing all week long. Though our time a Bike Week was short compared to years past, our time was spent maximizing every minute; up early and late to bed, but I bet everyone was doing that. Otherwise you won’t see all that Daytona Bike Week has to offer. I hope you enjoy the many photos of Bike Week. Make plans to attend Biketoberfest and if you find one of our many photographers, have them snap a pic and we’ll put you in the magazine. April, 2014

The Official Daytona Bike Week, Ladies Ride-In Bike Show By Kristin Gracy
W
hat a tremendous event we had at Rossmeyer’s Harley-Davidson presenting the Inaugural Ladies RideIn Bike Show for Daytona Bike Week.

With an early start to the day and getting everything set up, people began asking us what was going on. As we told them, several began making phone calls to friends to get them there to see the event. I can’t tell you how many compliments we received just for putting this show on. It’s the first for Daytona Bike Week where ladies had to ride their motorcycles into the Pavilion at Destination Daytona in order to be allowed in the show. With only a small $10 donation benefiting breast cancer research, they set their machines up around the pavilion for people to see and admire. It was a diverse group of bikes from a one-off to choppers to trikes to factory rides to custom modified to V-Twins to metrics. Everything was represented and the custom paint jobs were phenomenal. Judges were all from the motorcycle industry and all were females including myself, Shelly Rossmeyer-Wade, Gina Woods and a couple of secret judges for the best of show class. Everything considering (including the drop in temperature to 50 degrees from 80), the show was a great success and we’ve already begun getting great feedback and others interested in helping and sponsoring the event going forward. All of the ladies who brought their bikes to the show cheered for each other as the trophies were handed out and the prizes were awarded. It was just a great event and we at Southern Biker Magazine are so proud to be able to bring it to you. We’d

attention and pull it on. I zip it up and take a long look at myself in the mirror. This is sharp, I think. I wonder if I should buy it? I’ll always keep my black leathers, but like shoes, can a girl really have too many leather jackets? I think not. I hang it back up again, but keep thinking about that red.
When I was eight years old I would pedal my bike as fast as I could and fly down the street feeling the wind whip through my hair and across my face. Fast forward ten years and I could be found flying around the beach on a different kind of bike, one with a motor and a lot more power: a black Honda 500cc with red and orange detailing and a matching helmet. Not bad for a surfer chick. During the biggest biker blowout on the east coast—Bike Week in Daytona Beach—I find myself at ROAR Motorcycles on Beach Street. Because it caters exclusively to women, ROAR seems like a boutique. Instead of feeling intimidated like I can feel in typical bike shops dominated by masculine designs and colors, I’m greeted by a female sales person who understands that I’m not built like a 12year-old boy—this place understands women need a lower bike, and the sales person laughs when I joke that rolling up the legs on my leathers sort of kills the look I was going for.
Then I catch a glimpse of the Wildcat, the first production bike designed by a woman for women. With sleek lines that flow like art, the Wildcat is built lower than standard bikes—I’m seduced into mounting it, just to see how it feels. Even sitting still the bike gives the impression of forward motion with its swept-back design. Buttery leather and cushy, the seat feels broken in, comfy, like my favorite easy chair. The paint job is classic two-tone shimmering colors of mother-of-pearl white and teal blue. On the Wildcat, I can imagine myself rolling into town like Lara Croft, Tomb Raider—and it hits me that this place
has created a female bikers’ world of fantasy and fun. I think about my present motorcycle parked out front: a sleek Suzuki VX 800 sports bike, all speed and aerodynamic lines, very popular in Europe. I love it, but as I climb off the Wildcat and glance around the showroom, my thoughts are turning to a touring motorcycle.
The showroom is a study in black and white, complete with a checkerboard floor. Having struggled to find motorcycle gear cut to fit a woman, I find myself wanting to break into Handel’s “Hallelujah” chorus. I glance around and see everything imaginable: jackets, boots, leather pants, helmets, chaps—all in colors other than black, though classic black will never go out of style. She encourages me to enjoy browsing, so I reach for a jewel tone red leather jacket that captures my

Become a Better Writer Bike Store Artist Date 2 I spot a hot pink bike with butterflies, another one with purple and orange swirls outlining the Harley Davidson logo, and yet another that has the look of faded blue denim painted along the fender and body, complete with realistic stitching and a pocket design. A sales person waves me over to view a newly commissioned bike. I gape. Covered with royal gold paint and bling edging the seat—including specialty artwork featuring a purple stone mounted in a regal gold setting—it looks like it was built for Cinderella. I reach out and touch the shiny painted stone. This isn’t my style, as I’m still thinking about that red jacket, but I realize this may be exactly what another woman would want—someone who’s sick of her only options being black and chrome. And it makes me glad that a place like ROAR exists. For me—the person who craves a red leather jacket and dark sunglasses—and for a woman who wants to ride a Cinderella bike with a purple stone and shiny studs on the seat. I leave without the red jacket or a new bike, but I’m thinking about all the colors and lines as I climb astride my own Suzuki VX 800. I’m thinking about that jacket, and I’m thinking my next bike will definitely be coming from ROAR. And it will fit perfectly.

ulling into Daytona Beach, our first agenda was to stop by Daytona International Speedway to pick up our Media Credentials to get inside all the racing action. After a good night sleep, the weeklong racing action began.
The red plate #1 put on a clinic and at one point had an eighteen second lead. Villopoto even had a small mistake and washed out, hitting the dirt and still maintained a twelve second lead by the checker flag. This dominant performance no doubt is a sneak peak at what the outdoor championship has in store.

The 2014 season has an eerie resemblance of the past three seasons with the continued dominance of Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto. The Washington native proved why he is the man to beat at the toughest race of the year.

Supercross Podium; Dungey, Villapoto, Rocaen Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen put on a charge coming from just inside the top ten to passing his teammate Ryan Dungey to capture 2nd place in the main event. Dean Wilson received the call from Two Two Motorsport’s Chad Reed to be a fill in rider and he did not disappoint. Wilson qualified with the fastest lap time and ran strong up front until five laps to go. He made his presence known for the factories to consider in 2015. RCH Suzuki’s Broc Tickle rebounded from his controversial take out by Mike Alessi to finish 4th in the main event. James Stewart crushed his header on Alessi’s downed bike and had to pull into the pit for repairs. He could only muster eighteenth. Once again Ryan Villopoto’s championship reign continues with only a few rounds left in the championship. He has over an entire race lead in points and can sail home
Mackenzie Tricker The newly formed AMA Women’s Motocross Series debuted in conjunction with the Ricky Carmichael Amateur Supercross in Daytona and Mackenzie Tricker won the league’s first event winning both races. The Australian born racer took to the tough Daytona Supercross-style track like a duck to water and the twomoto format was the perfect fit for the April, 2014

On Saturday, TOBC Racing Suzuki, Kentucky rider Hayden Gillim finished third and had the fastest race lap at 1:52.906 making it a Suzuki sweep of the podium. Georgia native and D&D Cycles/Triumph/Castrol rider Miles Thornton had an eventful weekend taking sixth in the first race. On Saturday, Thornton led the race into turn one but a bike problem gave him a DNF.
When he was asked how it felt on his win coming off his prior year’s disappointment, Hayes replied, “There’s still one (race) to go...” His words seem to be those of fate during Saturday’s race as his new rookie teammate Cameron Beaubier would win the race after Hayes, yet again, was derailed by mechanical failure. Beaubier raced hard with eventual second and third place finishers Roger Hayden and Martin Cardenas to claim his very first SuperBike victory.

Sportbikes The greatly expanded field for this year’s Daytona Supersport race only proved just how much talent there is in the racing pool coming up to join the pros. New York native Corey Alexander of Team Celtic/HVMC Suzuki won the pole and he led every lap and dominated both race finals. Alexander’s off season training was evident and showed the rest of the field what it’s going to take to win the championship. Alexander’s perfect weekend netted him a big championship lead, a

Alexander With the initial two rounds of the series in the books, it is clear the AMA Pro SuperSport field is chasing Corey Alexander. “My goal was to win the National championship. That’s why I came back,” said Alexander. The next round is at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI May 30 - June 1.

Déjà vu, that seemed to echo the DIS super speedway for 3-time Champion Josh Hayes. In 2013 he lost the #1 plate to then-teammate Josh Herrin (who left to race in the Moto2 World Championships) due to several mechanical problems and a costly crash after leading the season standings handily. The Mississippi born racer won the first round race earning him his 42nd career AMA Pro SuperBike win.
Cameron Beaubier in the pots Beaubier dominated the 2013 AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike class and is arguably the most highly-touted class rookie since the emergence of Ben Spies or Nicky Hayden (two riders who went on to become AMA Pro SuperBike champions and later, world champions “This means everything. I’ve worked really hard to get to where I am. I can’t thank Monster Energy Graves Yamaha enough for giving me this opportunity on the R1. The 21-year-old Beaubier left Daytona with the series’ points lead by one over Hayden (51-50). Chris Clark is third with 36 points, four ahead of David Anthony and six ahead of a three-way tie between Hayes, Cardenas and Chris Fillmore. Yet again, Hayes trails his rookie teammate by 21 points. Danny Eslick Not since Gary Nixon 1967 has British Motorcycle Company Triumph won at the Daytona 200. That streak is now broken as Oklahoma’s, Riders Discount Racing Triumph 675, Danny Eslick took his #69 Triumph 675 to Victory Lane and cementing him in Daytona racing lore during the 73rd running of the Daytona 200. The three-cylinder Triumph is technically a lot different from the four-cylinder Japanese machines but this proves the British brand has the speed and reliability needed to compete and win.
DuHamel who won his Daytona 200 after being injured so badly, his crew had to help him on the bike. Eslick not only received $20,000 for winning, but also a Rolex watch for winning the pole. He has his own personality style for enjoying racing stating, “I was fist-pumping every lap. I would go by my buddies and give them the thumbs up, slapping the horse and giving her the spurs ...” After the race he climbed the fence to high-five and hug fans then took an extra lap with the checkered flag, dirttrack style. Jake Gagne finished second as young rider Jake Lewis finished third. Several notable racers didn’t have good luck for the day; Tomas Puerta led briefly before he having mechanical problems; Dane Westby, Jason DiSalvo and J.D.Beach crashed out; Blake Young had pit stop issues, The 73rd running of the Daytona 200 with 43 racers, marked a milestone as the middleweight 600cc bikes will no longer race the coveted race. AMA Pro announced the AMA Pro American SuperBike 1000cc class would be the motorcycles represented going forward.
Braswell singing National Anthem In the first race 18 year old Briar Bauman took home his first Grand National main event victory of the 2014 season. Second place went to fan favorite Sammy Halbert and Brandon Robinson came in third. Bauman’s Round 2 race wasn’t as grand as he finished 15th. Connecticut’s Kenny Coolbeth, Jr. began round 1 with a disappointing 17th place but rebounded for his first win in the Round 2 event. Tennessee’s Twist Grip Racing’s Dan Ingram won an impressive Semi race and the young age of 49.

The AMA Flat Track season has begun in “Sideways” fashion. Beginning with former champion and Nashville singing sensation Beau Braswell singing the National Anthem (then changing to his racing attire), Braswell’s new AMA theme song and video “Sideways” seem to come alive on the flat track of Daytona. Both rounds were full of action as were the other prelims and other class races.
A big storyline was defending Grand National Champion Brad Baker and his inability to find the top-ten in either of the season’s first two main events. Baker was disqualified after a Round 1 incident in the pits involving misuse of his motorcycle in Thursday night’s final. Baker then went on to finish 11th in Friday night’s main event. He’s now 16th in points and he’s put himself in a huge hole if he wants to repeat as champion and keep his #1 plate. The next event for AMA Pro Flat Track will be at the Springfield Mile at the Illinois State Fairgrounds on May 25, 2014. April, 2014

ero Motocorp, known for its massive volume of budget bike sales has teamed up with the high performance design/ engineering skills of American partner Erik Buell Racing and has unveiled another new model in India, the light and fast Hastur 620cc parallel twin. Considered as just a “concept”, the motorcycle looks like it is moving toward production. Although in the “developed” world, the mostly unknown company Hero holds roughly half of the huge markets in India , which is enough volume by the numbers to establish it as one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers globally. Coming on the heels of an EBRinfluenced 250, the Hastur 620 is light weight and full of high performance for its class. The estimated 80hp at 9,600rpm and a near 150mph top speed more than expected from a two-cylinder motorcycle. The most technichal detail of the motrcycle is the parallel twin cylinder engine which has a bearing element with a unique patented performance head with a counter- rotating crankshaft and cassette type gearbox. The
counter-rotating crank to reduce inertia for quicker handling, similar to production MV Agusta bikes. It is all wrapped up in a steel trellis frame, which utilizes the engine as a stressed member. Hastur, which means “Demon”, leaves no doubt that such a name perfectly suits to a naked street fighter design. The Hastur features adjustable suspension, dual four-piston radial calipers for the front brakes, a six-speed transmission and cast aluminum wheels. Looks like something aimed at Western markets, eventually, including the U.S. through EBR and its 60 plus dealers.

Vicki Golden Earns Supercross Endorsement
istory was made in AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross. Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis rider Vicki Golden added to her racing legacy by becoming the first woman to complete Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross. Golden qualified for the premier Arenacross Class last Saturday night in Hidalgo, Texas, securing her third and final required point to complete the Road to Supercross. As a result, Golden becomes the first woman in the history of the sport to earn an endorsement to compete in the 250SX Class of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship. With a potential future on the sport’s biggest stage, Golden is set to make even more history as she prepares for the next step of her career. Golden shared her thoughts on the accomplishment and her future in Monster Energy Supercross. How do you feel about being the first woman to complete the Road to Supercross and earn a 250SX Class endorsement for Monster Energy Supercross? It’s awesome. It doesn’t really make a difference that I’m the first woman; I guess it’s more being the only one. It really makes it more prestigious in my eyes that I have the talent and courage to go up against men in one of the most aggressive [championships] in the sport. I think part of it also is that now no one can tell me I can’t race [supercross] or that I’m only there because someone gave me an exemption. I met the qualifications like every other guy that will be out there. What kind of emotions did you feel when you realized you qualified to secure that third and final point? It was a huge relief. I would have freaked out if I was going into [the final round at] Salt Lake City and still needed one more

point. I think that would have been too much pressure (laughs). I’ve been working towards getting my license since my first year in AMSOIL Arenacross in 2011, so I am beyond stoked that everything came together and I finally made it happen. How would you describe your journey through the program? It’s been a tough journey for sure, but if it were so easy then it wouldn’t mean as much. I think the Road to Supercross has become really popular and a lot of racers have taken advantage of it, so making the fast 30 isn’t as easy as it used to be when I raced in previous years. So, I really had to make sure I was bringing my A-game each week to qualify. Do you realize the significance of your accomplishment in this sport and the world of motorsports as a whole? What are your thoughts on being a groundbreaking athlete? I do and I’m grateful for it. It really provides inspiration for younger girls, so hopefully this gender barrier breaking doesn’t stop with me and it continues to happen in the future. It also provides great appeal for me media wise, which it’s awesome exposure for my sponsors and myself. What does the opportunity to race in Monster Energy Supercross mean for your career? It’s huge. I’m sure I will [race supercross] in 2015, but I might even give it a shot before this season is over. It’s a lot to take in, thinking about trying to race in supercross. It’s a big step for me so I really want to be smart and well prepared for it. I think it’s going to open up a lot of doors for me. I can’t wait to see what happens and where this goes. Golden and the rest of AMSOIL Arenacross are set for the 12th and final round of the 2014 season and the conclusion of the Race to the Championship. The
season comes to a dramatic finish inside Salt Lake City’s EnergySolutions Arena Saturday, March 29. She then has time to ponder a few races with the big boys.

Vietnam Veterans Get the Welcome Home, They Never Received

W
hen they came home from Vietnam, they were not treated like the Armed Forces of today. They were spit upon, called baby killers, druggies, worthless excuse for a human, etc. etc. They were not welcomed at all by the people of the country that they so loved and fought for. They were out casted by civilians and even some were beaten and brutalized when they returned. It was a sad time in the history of this great nation. Fast forward to today. Two cities and one county set out to make the wrong, right. The cities Madisonville and Sweetwater and the county of Monroe in Tennessee came together in a big way. They welcomed home all of the neighboring Vietnam Vets like they should have gotten some 40 years ago. Law Enforcement, Firemen, politicians and most of all...the citizens poured out and came out to welcome them home;

Flags flying, faces painted, cars lining the 20 mile Hwy 68 route, people prepared to waive and cheer. Then they came, escorted by sirens, motorcycles and hundreds of supporters, the Vietnam Vets are home. I was there holding Gracie, waiving to all of them as everyone was. I wanted the feeling from the side of the road instead of being in the escort. And you know, I felt so proud, tears flowing, heart pounding; just to see the smiles on their faces as they drove by, just confirmed to me, these soldiers are truly home. I’m sending a huge thank you to the area Patriot Guard riders and organizers. We just moved to this small town of Madisonville, but I got to see that
folks here have a huge heart indeed and a passion for our country and the service men and women. God Bless everyone. And a final note, it is official in the state of Tennessee, March 29th Vietnam Veterans Day. April, 2014

If you have ever seen the AM Pickers TV show then you’ve heard about LeClaire IA, but it’s Big Dave & Holly’s pork tenderloins that have put the town on the map. Located at 1204 N Cody Road (Main Street) you get a great view of the Mississippi river. The pork tenderloin sandwich at $6.00 is as big as a platter and thick too. It’s topped with lettuce, pickle, onion, and tomato. Homemade coleslaw at $1.50 is a good choice. The cheese steak wrap with peppers, onions and cheese at $5 is a favorite. Holly makes a mean gourmet sundae with flavors like blueberry,rice krispy, smores and brownie delight. They are open Mon-Sat 11am-9pm, Sun 12pm-9pm. If you get lost, call ‘em at 563-289-4070.

1 Cup Diced Yellow Onion 1 Tablespoon Chopped Garlic 1 Tablespoon Horseradish 1⁄2 Cup Moonshine 4 Cups Diced Peaches 4 Cups Diced Tomatoes 1⁄4 Cup Molasses 1⁄2 Cup Cider Vinegar 1⁄4 Cup Honey 1⁄2 Cup Brown Sugar 1 Tablespoon Dry Mustard 2 Tablespoon Dried Oregano 3 Bay Leaves 1⁄2 Cup Worcestershire Sauce 4 Cups Ketchup Directions Sauté Onion, garlic and horseradish over medium high heat. Deglaze the pan with moonshine. Add peaches and tomatoes and bring to simmer for 10 minutes. Add molasses, vinegar, honey, sugar, mustard powder, oregano, bay leaves, Worcestershire, and Ketchup. Simmer for t wo hours.

Jarrett Little Memorial Ride
O
ver a hundred people came out to support the Jarrett Little Memorial Ride that benefited the children at St Jude’s Childrens Hospital. The ride is held each year in honor of Firefighter Jarrett Little who passed away after his truck over turned while in route, answering a house fire call. March 2010, the Georgia State Senate passed the Jarrett Little Bill that adds parents and siblings to the list of family members who may receive compensation if a firefighter, police officer, prison guard or other emergency or law enforcement official dies or is brain-damaged in the line of duty.

hen Southern Biker Magazine asked us to write an article each month, on top of being proud to be able to contribute to such a great magazine read by bikers throughout the southeast, we felt we were obligated to give sound advice to our brethren. So over the next few months, we will try and help out the biker George Stein community with some advice about how to protect yourself and your family before an accident occurs, as well as some do's and don'ts in case you find yourself being forced to lay your bike down. When you put on your helmet and hit the road, no one goes out with the intention of getting into an accident. Yet, we hear about it every day. Whether it is a minivan with a distracted driver pulling out in front you, or a tractor trailer on a highway, you could find Brian Caron yourself in a tough spot pretty quickly. Yet, if this was to happen to you, there are some do's and don'ts that could quickly affect your ability of being taken care of, both medically and financially for any injuries caused by someone else's negligence. First off, your health is the most important thing. We all love our bikes, but in case you go down, you need to make sure you are ok first. Do not delay Marcos Garza medical attention out of adrenaline. Many head and internal injury symptoms do not fully manifest until hours after an accident. If you have damage to your helmet or are concerned about another body part, go get checked out. When you do, make sure you are thorough with a treating physician. This isn't the time to act tough...insurance companies target medical records which show complaints later in treatment that were not made at the scene or immediately after an accident. Unless you are physically unable, always speak with the responding police officer and make sure your account of the facts of the accident are recorded. Also, get contact information for any witnesses you can find. DO NOT simply rely on witnesses to give an officer their recollection of the events. DO NOT assume that just because someone struck you or forced you to lay your bike down they will admit fault and accept responsibility. Too often bikers are injured and left unprotected due to rejected claims based upon police reports where individuals see a motorcycle involved and simply assume they were at fault. DO report the accident quickly to both the insurance company of the at fault party as well as your own insurance company, but DO NOT give a recorded statement to either company without contacting an attorney first. A recorded statement will be one of the first things an insurance company will request and they will then use any statement against you later on down the road. Yet, reporting the accident is important to start a claim with the at fault party as well as your own insurance company as most uninsured motorist policies have provisions which can nullify a policy if not put on notice within a certain time period. Our attorneys strongly recommend representation to be present or on the line when making any statements to an insurance company.
