Wedded Bliss: For the couple that has everything.
I
have been invited to my niece’s wedding and it is going to be a lovely affair for 90 close friends and family. We are very excited to be a part of it. My dilemma is that the happy couple have dated more than a decade and have been living together for a few years so they have a house and all the contents by now. So my imagination starts to think and I’m worrying about what to get them for their ‘perfect’ gift.
Well, that brings me to something I know a lot about, and my spa thinking cap is on. I am thinking a couples’ treatment that they would enjoy. I look at a few local spa menus to check out their offerings. I decide that a side-by-side pedicure is something they would enjoy. Then they can go for a lunch afterwards. There are so many couples that are starting out with ‘a lot ‘ and that throws me off a little. Whatever happened to the days of toasters and place mats? I guess they’re gone, but now we have something much more exciting and less practical. Hey, as long as your feet and toes are feeling and looking great who needs toast anyways?! Happy wedding!

very girl knows that weddings are about preparation. Planning is everything. Or, is it? A wedding is actually the ultimate party – a celebration of the love two people share for each other, and of the beginning of their brand new life together. No wonder so much goes into the making of your Wedding Day. But at the heart of the day itself, you can’t let the important things get lost. Slow down, take a deep breath, and savor everything.
That’s where the spa comes in. A spa is designed just for the purposes of slowing life down, and savoring the moment. Whether it’s for a bridal party beforehand, the oh-so-important make-up and bridal look on the day itself, or the after-party glow of a honeymoon treat for you and your sweetie, a trip to the spa will help you enjoy every minute of the celebration of a lifetime.
Rakesh Esthetics Personal Spa and Skin Care Boutique, Elora, Ontario Imagine a spa that will walk you through all that stresses you about your wedding look, then offer you some stress relief! “Rakesh Esthetics will start with a Bridal make-up consultation,” says owner Rakesh Singh, “then the trial and application - in addition to soothing away any wedding jitters with pre-wedding treatments like a facial, body treatment or a relaxing massage.” Rakesh Esthetics is committed to bringing the same passion and care to select mobile treatments. “The goal is to ensure that our clients get the absolute best service with kind products, free of synthetics and harmful ingredients in a comfortable, nurturing environment,” he says. et’s face it, stress is stressful, even if it’s the good stress of taking your trip of a lifetime, getting your new dream job, or even having the wedding you’ve always wanted. Ever since Peter Hanson wrote about The Joy of Stress in 1986, there has been a steady stream of advice from experts helping us to identify the sources of our strain, and offering help on what to do to combat the effects of this modern pest. Wedding stressors seem limitless, from the family’s quirks to the caterer’s mistakes, and we all know those troubles are unavoidable, no matter how organized and together you are, as a bride. Usually problems crop up when you least expect them, because even the most thorough preparations can’t foresee everything. So, what to do when the pressures mount, or the long list of troubles seems to be overwhelming for you and your sweetheart? No doubt about it, all the experts agree: take time out!! Tasks and time are the number one headache on many stress lists. So much to do, and so little time is a saying we all live, personally. Given all the chores vying for your attention, taking time for www.innsweddings.com
yourself seems selfish. And, well, it is. But relax, it’s the good selfish. Without you and your sweetheart, there would be no wedding, so remember to give yourselves permission to put your relationship and health first. But how to do that? Relaxation can come in many forms, and includes many key ingredients: doing something physical, clearing your mind of demands, restoring your energy, taking care of your physical health, and so on. Believe it or not, spa-ing can offer these ingredients, and more, all at once. Sounding too good to be true? Well, consider a massage. Designed to relieve muscle tension, it also offers you thirty to sixty minutes away from your cell phone, which means down time for your mind to let your thoughts wander. It’s an opportunity to relieve your aches and pains, and to revitalize your skin and senses, depending on the lotion or massage oil used, plus, you have a perfect opportunity to drift away to sleep for a short power nap. Rest, meditation, improving your physical health: it’s the perfect recharge that you can even squeeze into your every day schedule. Now, imagine doubling that benefit with a Couples’ Massage. Side by side, hand in Spa Weddings Magazine
hand, a duo massage is the answer. Down time with your sweetheart has never been more efficient. More and more, spas are incorporating healthful benefits into their services ranging from facials to pedicures and everything in between. Many spas offer healthy treatments in the privacy of a couples’ suite, and have developed stress relief packages ranging from an hour or two, to a day or two. Suddenly, taking an hour out of your day with your beloved doesn’t seem so impossible. Then, there’s the ultimate, of course. Many spas offer an all day package in a couples’ suite: for example, start with a glass of champagne in front of the fireplace. An hour of alone time could include a lovely mutual body scrub, then into the Japanese bath or rain shower together, followed by a stress-relieving massage side by side. Afterward, you both could relax over a gourmet lunch, together in the suite, and, to end your day of bliss, stress-relieving facials. Whatever the stressors, wedding troubles will always be with us, so remember, by taking a little time now and then for each other, so will your sweetheart. Relax - it’ll all be right on the night!

ove over Tinker Bell - skin finishing is the trend! Look no further than the stars on the red carpet for inspiration: they know just how important it is. Shimmer (sometimes called luminizer) is the gold standard for complimenting and perfecting skin. They create an ethereal softfocus glow, much like being in candle light.
20
The single most important red carpet moment in any woman’s life is the walk down the bridal isle, so go for the gold! The technological advancements in cosmetics ingredients and formulations have changed the way we look at shimmer products. Shimmers have come a long way. Shimmers bounce and refract light off the surface of your skin, which in turn makes your skin look smoother, radiant and more hydrated. Spa Wedding Magazine
Shimmers are an instant pick-me-up. They brighten tired eyes and make them look bigger. Shimmers are lifting when applied to upper cheekbones and under brow bones. Shimmer on the lips will make them appear fuller, smoother and hydrated. Shimmers are available in powder, cream or liquid and suit an array of tastes and skill sets. Powder and cream lend themselves to the most customizable approach and offer the most staying power.
www.innsweddings.com
It’s all in the tools when enhancing your face. Shimmers allow for ultimate control and execution. When skin finishing the body, look no further than the skin finishing experts, St.Tropez. Their Skin Illuminators are the ultimate finishing touch in soft subtle radiance, available in three creamy luminous tints. Jane Iredale’s 24-Karat Gold Dust in Silver, Gold, Champagne and Bronze are made of 48% gold leaf (food grade). They are the perfect finishing touch for décolleté, www.innsweddings.com
shoulders, arms and legs. Mix them in your favorite body moisturizer of choice or delicately deposit just a touch, using feather like strokes, which only a fan brush will deliver. Whatever the occasion, face it with flattering radiance.
